Thanks for watching! I'm launching a new travel vlog every week, so stay tuned. Travel Lord On Location is a new channel, so please SUBSCRIBE and turn on NOTIFICATIONS if you enjoy my content and want to see my travel adventures.
About this Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina vlog:
This Sarajevo travel vlog might be a little bit different than you expect and is a bity more like urban exploring. We get to see a lot of the best Sarajevo viewpoints from abandoned buildings.
This travel vlog looks at some of Bosnia and Herzegovina's tragic history. The ruins on Mount Trebević include the Astronomical Observatory of Čolina Kapa, which is our first stop. The Astronomical Observatory of Čolina Kapa is falling apart but provides a stunning view of Sarajevo.
Next I found the Lokalitet Draguljac or Fort Draguljac. This was a military fortification created by the Austro-Hungarians in the early 1900s. And although it is still standing, it isn't much to see anymore. It does provide a clue into Sarajevo culture and more astonishing views of the Sarajevo city.
One of the biggest Sarajevo hidden gems is the 1984 Olympic Bobsled and Luge track. This is a must when you decide to explore Sarajevo. The track is walkable and covered in interesting graffiti and street art. When you see it, you'll understand why I had to include it in my Sarajevo vlog. If you're interested in Sarajevo sightseeing, you’ve got to check it out.
Finally, if you walk down Mt Trebević, you'll find it's very steep but full of interesting Sarajevo landmarks and sites. Overall, this vlog is a bit unique but offers insight into Bosnia and Herzegovina's past. Watch this and learn a bit about Sarajevo history.
Exploring the Sarajevo ruins is a must, and you should add it to your Sarajevo adventures.
About the ruins of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina:
Nestled in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the ruins of Sarajevo offer a poignant glimpse into a city scarred by both its turbulent history and remarkable resilience. These mesmerizing destinations invite travelers to explore its haunting beauty and reflect on its complex past.
The scars of the Bosnian War, which raged from 1992 to 1995, still mar the cityscape and surrounding areras. Bullet-riddled buildings and abandoned structures serve as stark reminders of a painful chapter in Sarajevo's history. Yet, amid the ruins, one can also discover the indomitable spirit of its people.
Sarajevo's ruins are a testament to the enduring strength of its inhabitants, who have rebuilt their city with unwavering determination. Exploring these remnants, travelers are sure to be moved by Sarajevo's resilience and its ability to rise from the ashes of its past.

Ruin = devastation + art. Still within memory and just as jarring. Tourism seems to be creeping in. I would think that the bobsled path would not have any land mines. As a mother, this makes me shudder. Thanks for explaining as I was wondering why such remote areas were involved in warfare. Enjoyed the artwork.

I think that whole area has been cleared. The next video on the city of Sarajevo will give more insights as to what happened there

@@TravelLordOnLoc I think the majority of American travelers have never seen an actual bullet hole. My first time was in Berlin. It is impactful.

that was an amazing video! I dont know why---if it's the way youre editing them or your commentary or that you're sort of letting us discover places while you're doing so, but...really cool! No donkeys in this one yet I watched it to the end. Agree it's both beautiful and sad. Great work!

Thanks for this. Shame about the observatory. Arts, science, culture, sports… used to be bedrocks of growing up in Sarajevo. Spirit which brought Čolina Kapa to existence no longer lives there. All the best.

@What were you doing up there and who advised you to visit the ruins? You Could run on to someone dangerous, or you could get bit by a snake. There is nothing interesting there. If you wanted to have a nice view of Sarajevo, you just had to take the cable car, sit up in the restaurant, drink a coffee and enjoy the view. Later you go down to the bobsleigh track and enjoy hiking. Regarding mines... Do you think anyone would come to Sarajevo if there were as many as you said ?
@TravelLordOnLoc
@TravelLordOnLoc 11 месяцев назад
It was interesting to see! I didn't know what to expect, but now people will know there aren't any mines to worry about in that area.
