That 6238 was such a deal. Sold for 32k is almost like a new Daytonas in the secondary market but from any collecting value aspect on a completely different ballpark.
I've become addicted to high-end timepieces due to the extensive knowledge you share with your subscribers about various watches. I hope that one day I might hit the jackpot at a hidden estate sale or an unpopular online auction because of the information you provide
@@mentawatches Thanks so much Adam, all I know of LBJ is that he was brought by helicopter to BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center) Ft. Sam Houston here in San Antonio when I was a kid. I saw him with my father when he was discharged from the hospital.
Like hunting for vintage watches you have to go through the process of learning and finding them. Just like You Tube once you find yourself through all the not so good channels you find gems like this that you learn from in every video.
@@mentawatches I say "wow I've never seen that" often on your videos and I'm sitting here typing this while going through Christie's watch auctions results lol
I think the focus on vintage helps you stand out from the bulk of the watch channels that only cover the high-end moderns. As someone whose interest is primarily in vintage too (initially Heuer Carreras, now branching out into Speedmasters too), that only helps my enjoyment of the channel. I like the respect you give to Jack Heuer-era watches as well, too many watch RU-vidrs are only aware of the TAG era. Keep it up!
Great video! Thanks for the informational content, I love these auction videos. Is the sold price thats shown in the video the "final" price that the bidders paid or do you have to add like 25% for the auction house?
