Just a side note: make sure your mic is actually close to your face and get a stand if you want the best quality. Keyboard sounds can be really really loud if you had a stand sitting on a table next to your keyboard and you're a loud typer like me. Also, test your mic through stuff like Audacity, it tends to pick up sound perfectly. I use a soundboard on occasion and when testing it through Discord mic test it legitimately sounds like a UFO is lifting up my house, but in Audacity it's flawless.
Hey man, thank you so much for this video. I just got my first decent microphone after using gaming headsets all my life and I was pretty clueless. Had tones of issues getting everything to work and most videos are just 30-60 min long and don't really explain things well. Yet you helped me within a 15 minute video, you have literally saved my soul.
god holy shit I eqed my speaker but didnt know it would actually eq all the sounds coming out it then ur voice dude it was so much better like wtf when I heard ur voice I was like omfg
I just realized the pop filter he has on that NT1 Mic he is using for recording is giving him that muffled- professional sound too! I got to get me a boom arm and pop filter for my blue yeti soon.
Thank you so much for this video! I was having the hardest time streaming a game via discord with my headphones because people couldn't hear the game unless I blasted it on my side. This fixes that problem entirely. Now I can set the game volume to the stream and my headphones separately.
****11/22/20 UPDATE **** Problem 1: Other people are able to hear your desktop/game audio Fix: Open Voicemeeter, look towards the center of the application for "Virtual input". Under both virtual inputs, turn off B1 and B2. Problem 2: Your microphone is popping and crackling and cutting out over discord. Fix: Make sure your recording device in windows sound control panel has the same Hz as your settings in Voicemeeter. This will be done by going to the windows sound control panel, and looking into the properties, as well as in the voicemeeter menu>system settings. Hopefully this helps you guys, if you have any further questions, check links in the description and join the discord!
@@2sickvick I LOVE IT. I tweaked these settings to make it fit better for the Mini, and if you'd like i can send you my save file! I recommend using NVIDIA Broadcast/RTX Voice to help reduce any background noise, unless of course the room you're in is treated/quiet on its own.
@@unser636 actually not exactly. I have a diffrent mic so the intella pan or sum you gotta custom cause the one he put with blue yeti for me it sounded dog. so I made my own
Can you help me my game audio coming through the microphone and also when I select hardware input 1wdm microphone,My microphone starts buzzing.plz help
Turning on EQ in VoiceMeeter Banana makes it affect all sound, including RU-vid videos I watch. How can I make it only affect my microphone rather than all system audio?
I'm using an audio interface. My specs Focusrite scarlet solo Shure mv7 mic (released on oct 2020) (using the XLR option) its kind of like a shure sm7b mic so it has the podcast like quality just need help with voice meter and eqing
So did you install the VBCAB:E? I didnt see you do it. Also, when i set the output device in my windows option to voimeeter input i cant hear anything but i can only hear myself when i talk to the mic. And if I change the default in my windows settings I still cant hear anything and my pc says audio renderer error, please restart your computer. How do i fix this?
when i go into discord settings i have Input device at "VoiceMeeter Aux Output" and output at "VoiceMeeter Input" but i can't get any sound throught my microphone, i have it set up in voicemeeter but i can't get my voice through discord
I followed everything and when i move the EQ around, nothing changes. I’m listening to myself with A1 while changing EQ, and nothing happening. Anyone else?
Great tutorial, but I have a problem! How can I control my audio levels from my keyboard buttons? They don't function after setting Voicemeeter as the default playback device.
Hey sorry to bug you. When I talk on discord, all my friends say I am quiet, but when I hear my voice on voicemeeter, I sound perfect. My friends have me at 200 on discord and I’m still quiet for them. If I increase my gain, it’s going to make my mic peak and pick up noises from downstairs. Any advice?
@@NomicEXE my volume input is to the max. One of my friends has me at 200 and he says I’m still so quiet. If I increase my gain, they’re gonna hear my whole hoise
when i try to install banana my youtube says audio rendering error please restart your computer. idk how to fix i tried to restart and troubleshoot idk what else to do
So, this sounds awesome with the blue yeti, but I do have one question. So I use open-back headphones (HD58x) and I have to put the noise gate really high and it won't pick my headphones up but you can hear them in the background of me talking, and only when I'm talking. Is this bad, any fixes?
Hey, dunno if you still got this issue but someone else might. If you have an Nvidia GPU, try Nvidia broadcast (formerly known as RTX voice). It uses AI to block out background noise, and it does it astonishingly well. Not sure if you need an RTX 2000/3000 GPU for this to work, but it's great if you can get it.
Do you know how to get VM banana or potato to work with live calls during a live stream so that the caller can be heard in a stream by the host and the guest? I'm using Streamyard for the live streaming to RU-vid.
when im in discord and im talking in the mic test it terrible but when im in voice meter and listening to my self it sounds great? could it just be discord also in Microsoft listen to this device its saying the same word over and over again like ifi say hello it goes hellolololololo until it starts shrieking
Ok, I have everything setup except I can only hear alerts through my VAIO where my game audio is at and I want to change it to my AUX but I don’t know how to do it. (On streamlabs btw)
Okay so my sound is really good I’m getting a lot of compliments in discord but whenever I play games and I use my mic in-game they say I sounds terrible like a robot anyone experiencing this as well?
There's really not much you can do about it. Voicemeeter is adding another point to process your audio, so it's always going to have at least a little bit added latency just by the nature of what's happening. In the voicemeeter settings, you can decrease your buffer size. You could mess around with that and see how low you can go before your audio sounds shit
@@HukeIsMe hey man thanks for the reply. I was able to get my OBS latency to almost zero by matching the audio bit rate so I guess I was just wondering if discord had something like that. If not thanks for your time
@@tom-stein but does it work with a condenser mic using an audio interface? this seems like its for people using a USB mic and wouldnt work with the kind of set up im rocking
@@tom-stein it does! awesome thank you sir. gonna give this a shot and hopefully ill be able to kill the background noises i got going on, a noisy ass AC and my aurora R11 (nuff said there)
when i press voice activity on my microhpone on discord it somehow doesn't detect anything but when i push to talk it somehow detects it, any solution?
and to be honest its not entirely worth it haha. The bread and butter of Voicemeeter is the intellipan effect (that red square i move around). everything else is just a bonus that also makes it more complicated than it needs to be.
Whenever I equip voice meter as default all my friends say they can hear every game sound and themselves as well when voice meter is equipped anyone know how to fix it
I ran into an issue that everytime i start my computer the A1 source (Blue Yeti mic) is red and i have to unplug the mic and plug it back in to make it work. any solutions?
yo bro when u select the blue yeti in the scnd channel the program capture the audio right away, but in my case the mic appear in red color, i dont know what to do bc the program doesent capture the audio. i really hope u could help me. Stay safe man!
I have 3 usb mics hooked up and voicemeeter banana installed with the 3 hardware inputs and A1-3 outputs. All three usb mics have headphone jacks. How do I get all 3 microphones and the outputs for headphones synced on one so that we can all hear ourselves and each other for a podcast?
Great vid, man. I'm trying to get my DAW(Reaper) to talk to Discord. I can't hear either at the moment. It says "Failed to open output device". I've been here for days. I need help!
Is it normal that after a few minutes on disc the microphone starts to sound ugly? it makes like an interference noise. I have to disconnect and connect to solve the problem. only in discord it happens
bruh when i clicked on ur vid and as the quality on the audio and camera i thought u had a couple hundred thousends subs but i checked and u hack only 329 wtf
