I have your old voicemeeter set up guide saved, and noticed it was unlisted so I looked to see if there was an updated version, and found this one. Not sure if it's different on Windows 10 but on W11 I don't need eartrumpet like I used to. I can simply use the Windows Volume Mixer and it actually (for once!) works well. Nonetheless, this is a great, short, and concise video!

I'm surprised you made it fit in such a short video, great job! I recently tried to set this up for my father, but perhaps due to him not having the newest windows update or wrong drivers he can't right click on an app on ear trumpet. We managed to make it work by using OBS, but it isn't ideal. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows a non-round way of doing this.

You can try using the tools built into windows - it seems eartrumpet is falling a little behind on its updates.

I have watched this video at 0.75 speed probably 20 times now and I just even more confused. You changed the audio default twice, you speed through every action but take FOREVER to introduce each action, then you spring 2 other apps on us at the end and are extremely vague about setting them up. I have all these extra drivers and stupid programs now and I am even more confused than I ever was about to they function.

I honestly think you just helped me solve the issue I've been having where the PC audio will be a mic input source through my ps5. EarTrumpet was the key. hopefully I still don't have that issue.

Glad I could help :) sometimes EarTrumpet can get stuck - if you run into that just uninstall the source it’s stuck on and eartrumpet then reinstall and reset and should be good

You're a God. This has been so helpful. QUESTION - when I was setting up my audio, I had a minor difference when setting up my windows Playback/Recording devices. Instead of "VoiceMeeter Input" (which I have on my list), I needed to select "VoiceMeeter VAIO3 Input". Otherwise I'd get no sound. SO, I'm wondering if I should set up "VoiceMeeter Aux Input" as my communications default, OR use VoiceMeeter VAIO3 Input for both playback AND communications!

When adding the VB-Cable plugin, the Audio Control Panel 'Default' settings get messed up! 'Cable Input' in Playback and 'Cable Output' in Recording make themselves 'Default'. I changed them back to what you said earlier.

I love voice meeter banana, but I'm experiencing an issue. I have my setup to where my music is assigned to the virtual cable. I can see and hear my music on voice meeter and OBS, but for some reason, when I test the stream on my PC or a my smartphone, there's no music. I've checked the advanced mixer in OBS and it's assigned to channel 2 as twitch instructs me to do, but I have to also assign it to channel 1 to output music, but doing that defeats the purpose because the whole point is so music doesn't play in VODs. My goal is to get the music playing live, and not hearable in the Vod, when I set it up at first, it worked flawlessly, but now it's not. What am I doing wrong here? I can't make YT vids with the music in the local recordings/VODs.

Hey man, I could really use your expertise right now. I'm trying to set up my condenser mic for use in Teams meetings and video blogs on my PC. I've got all the gear I need - the mic, the 48V Phantom power supply, and a USB audio interface. However, when I tested it out, my voice sounded too low. So, I decided to install Voicemeeter (the basic version) to boost the gain. I followed you video, but now, I'm worried I've messed things up. There's some weird reverberation going on, and I'm not sure if my sound configuration is right. Can you lend me a hand? Thanks!

With Voicemeeter can I have more than one output. I use an Atomos Ninja V to record my screen. It gets its video signal from the HDMI on my graphics card, but currently I have to split my audio from my DAC's (GSX 1200) headphone port to the mic in and use a ground loop insolator. Which is janky for multiple reasons. Can VM play its audio through 2 output sources.

Nice and quick, feels pretty good. The only thing I see that could be improved is making sure people use the default ASIO drivers rather than MME or other protocols, but it can honestly be a hastle in Voicemeeter to get it to use the ASIO drivers since they never show in the dropdown for input and output choices. You're gaining a LOT of latency using the non-ASIO drivers.

@@roxiierpg8634 The latest updates have changed things and simply removing the inputs from the channelsl strips will default them to the ASIO inputs. Also the PATCH ASIO Inputs to Strips in the system settings is now working properly. My entire point of this comment was to make sure to let users know to NOT use MME, and rather use ASIO. KS and WDM drivers suffer from the same latency issues that MME does, though MME tends to be the fastest of the 3 anyway. ASIO blows them all out of the water.

@@Tony-kc5fi That all depends on your audio interface device. The Asio4All drivers have many issues with my UM2, so I use the manufacturers drivers.

@@Sidkain sorry should have said I'm referring to when using just the laptops audio (rather than my usb interface). I found an alternative called 'flexiasio' which seems pretty good. I'm getting latency down to around 25ms(asio4all was 19ms). Flexiasio allows multiple 'apps' to run through it at the same time which asio4all doesn't so that's a definite plus👍

Voicemeeter is a pain but essentially a1-3 is the audio that u want to hear b1-2 would be mic this is one of the few guides that is easy to follow and dumbed down thank you? Also for some reason I get a pop up when ever I start voice meeter telling me I have a bad audio driver installation any suggestions to fix it

It worked, but I get an echo of the game I'm playing while trying to play music. Is there a way to seperate audio from different applications? Like if I wanted to play music in a game, but not have an echo from the game or for the music to play through discord. So just playing music into the game

Last edit of this: If by any chance your comms audio is being stuck in cable input, installing the cable input can change your audio settings, so you might have to re change the defaults for your audio settings

A little update KS and WDM will not work properly if you are trying to play an MP3 through windows default media player and having it run through the VB-virtual audio cable, the sound ends up sound like a blown out speaker with crackles and noise ( regardless of how low the media setting is). I tested playing mp3 and flac files in Media Player Classic Home Cinema and the noise problem went away. I'm not sure of the actual cause though. The drivers seem to all be working correctly as well. I'm wondering if I'll be monitoring my audio through voicemeeter rather than OBS though cause there is audio output to stream directly.

So second update: I found out that the cause for static when using a virtual audio cable for WDM or MME, its usually a problem of sample rate. Lowering the sample rate for the cable MIGHT fix the problem but I've noticed it only makes it worse by lowering sample rate in the vb-audio cable settings menu. It's better to go in to settings of VoiceMeeter and set the sample rate for WDM at 2048 samples which is the highest you can go. The default 512 is usually not enough on new machines. MME is set at default 1024. I say pump it up one level to 1536 samples. This should fix the problem. Using KS virtual point just limits options. and KS sample rate should be kept at default unless you have to use KS and are still experiencing problems. In that case set KS to 2048 samples.

This guide is helpful, but I'm having an issue. Voice Meeter Banana is able to pick up my interface ( a Line 6 UX2) but my mic is not being picked up at all in the input 1. If I make a sound into the mic and look at the Master Section I see numbers next to the fader ranging in the -88 to -90 range under the virtual sliders. However my voice is not being picked up on input 1 channel. The output is set up, I just can't get anything out of the mic. I selected WDM and not MME, but both seem to not work. I'm using the correct output too for B2; Voice Meeter Aux Output. edit: I solved the problem. It was a driver I had to reinstall, it's always the most simple fix to be the last one I think of I guess. I kept my comment up incase anyone else has the same issue in the future. Also make sure you're using POD farm if you have a line 6 preamp/ interface.

Not sure if anyone else ran into this issue. My issue was when it came to separating my music, I did everything in this video (almost), but Spotify would not play at all. It kept giving me an error "Spotify can't play this right now..." At some point in the video I saw that he had his A1 output source set to "CABLE input" so I made mine the same without thinking. It confused me because I'm a visual learner so as soon as I saw the A1 set to "CABLE input" in the video, I did just that. Make sure to listen to when he says make A1 your headphones or whatever output you want, do not make "CABLE input" one of the A# sources.

Also, what do I do when my system doesn't tally with your explanation - like for example; at 1:34 you show your Sound Control Panel where you have three VM selections - main - aux & VAIO. I only have one Voicemeeter input.

Does all this still work now or is it outdated since the OBS studio updated and can now use the source "Application Audio Capture (BETA)" built right in OBS studio?
