I've had this exact model of strap from Fluco (in brown) for nearly three years, and it looks now as it did after about a month of wear. Incredibly durable, and seems to fit better as time goes on.
@@ivanmejia6843 It's still basically perfect. It's a little more scuffed right now, but shell cordovan doesn't seem to stretch or crack like other animal hide straps do. I probably won't ever buy a "leather" strap that isn't shell cordovan.
I have a Colareb strap from Holbens. Love it. I also love White's boots and someday hope to get a pair in the Shell Cordovan. In the meantime, you giveway would hold me over until I can save the money to buy one. Great job on the review.
I live in the Florida Keys so I know what you're talkin about our heat in South Florida. I have a 46 mm Seiko with a silicone rubber strap that I don't like to wear outdoors in the heat. I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist but I could use the leather strap for my wife's watch. Thank you.
I just got a khaki field auto 38mm like 2 weeks ago on the metal braclet and getting a black leather strap for it was on my to-do's from day one, i hope this is the one :D
I own many Fluco straps, all purchased from Holbens, and I have found all varieties of Fluco straps to be of very good quality at very reasonable prices. I have yet to try their horween leather and to be able to win one sounds like a great way to do so. I have little doubt it will be as good as you say.
@@JustBlueFish I shall.. would make for a nice leather strap option upgrade for a variety of watches that have 20mm including a Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer incoming today.. I've owned one before with the navy dial and the included strap isn't terrible, but it is rather thick and stiff and takes some breaking into.
Yeah guy I live in Orlando so I hundred percent get it. My black Bay Steel came on a beautiful strap you know, and I try to wear it but within an hour im feeling like I'm ruining it from the inside out. So I've been looking at holbens quite a lot lately.. great video man beautiful strap🤟
I've got my experience of Horween Shell Cordovan from Nomos and I would agree it's a material of high quality, relatively robust and versatile in style.

Take a look at Eulit perlon straps on Holben's site, particularly the Palma strap for the Hamilton Khaki. It is perfect for hot and humid weather, and looks fantastic on the wrist.
I've had three of these, on an IWC Vintage Aquatimer, Zenith VPH El Primero, and Rolex Explorer 2. Absolutely agree that these straps are the best value for the money. I actually prefer these over $200-250 alligator bands from premium manufacturers like Camille.
I've been looking around for a strap, and I also tend to lean on black straps for some reason. I've been trying to mix it up every now and then, but I seem to just end up with more black straps :))) so yes, I would love to win and get yet another black watch strap
I've seen Shell Cordovan on some strap websites and was wondering about it, so thanks for making this video! If I win the strap, I will probably try it on a bunch of my watches to see where it works best, but I'm hoping it will work well with my late dad's Fortis Trueline which currently has no strap.

My guess is that you used the short side of the large strap and the long side of the small strap. Am I right? That would give you a 75/105 strap. I find that for me, most straps made today have a short side that is too short and a long side that is too long. This shift the buckle towards 12:00 side of the watch, often making the strap end being visible when looking at you watch. I think a ratio of short to long of 0.70 to 0.8 gives me a much better fit.
Oh, man, I am awaiting on my new Egard Poseidon Filigree Steel watch and that one comes with a bracelet and a NATO. But, since it is an very elegant, fully engraved watch I will definitely need a leather strap. Like this one...
I've tried few brands including this, and out of all of them, Colareb was the best. In terms of comfortable, definitely a solid 10 and very well made. It's on the expensive side, but that you get what you pay for.
Hi. I’ve been a subscriber for about 6 months and you do a great job. We both have a lot in common. I have a 6 3/4” wrist too. I was introduced to Horween leather with my Nomos watch. And I fit in the same category you do, I really need a combination of a short, and a regular length. The way my wrist is designed I actually need the buckle side to be the regular length size and need the tip side to be the short length otherwise the buckle is almost on the side of my wrist which is uncomfortable and looks awful. Now many companies make shorts anymore and the cost to buy two straps is a little steep! I sure hope I win as you are not only reviewing what I think is the best understated strap made, but since I have a smaller wrist, I also wear smaller thinner case watches so they look normal on my wrist. For people who have never tried horween...all it takes is one time and you’re hooked! I wonder if there are more guys like us and Fluco would make a small batch in 18mm, 19mm, and 20mm. They could sell them as a mix and match, as ideally you want the buckle in the center of the wrist. Anyway, good luck to the winner...as you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend horween...it’s like the way straps should be made. I wonder if you stay in touch with Fluco if you would propose this idea to them as I’m sure there are also some folks that need a shorter buckle side with a longer tip size. I’m just hoping that’s how your wrist is designed, as I really need that long buckle side length. Either way, thanks for what you do in the watch community. Your videos are clear and useful! Thanks Guy. Very timely video for me. I am very much a bracelet guy normally. However, with fall arriving quicky here in Chicago, I've been contemplating a leather strap to change things up a bit. I've never had much luck or longevity with any leather strap, and would love to give this one a go. Hope you have an awesome weekend.

Hi! And thanks for all you do for the watch community. I am a fairly recent subscriber, and I really enjoy watch bracelets and straps. I live in Florida and as the days change, I sometimes find myself taking off the watch I’m wearing because the leather is wet and moving to a watch with metal bracelet. The most interesting of metal vs. leather...is I prefer leather, but I can get the perfect fit with metal (meaning the watch stays centered on the top of the wrist, and the clasp is centered on the bottom. But if I go to leather, the way my wrist is designed I actually need the buckle side of the strap to be longer, and the tip side to be shorter, otherwise the buckle doesn’t come anywhere close to being centered and is uncomfortable. I have a 6 3/4” wrist so it looks like we are in the same boat. I’m just hoping you need the short buckle side, and the longer tip side! Anyway, I’ve often thought of buying two straps, one in short and one in regular. Of course funds are limited and it seems like such a waste to always buying two straps...I’ve searched short straps for years, and it seems like all manufacturers make the buckle side short and leave the tip side regular length...and if you can even find one, of course it’s not the style or color you want. I sure hope I win...and will be happy to send some pictures as my favorite strap of all time is black horween. It’s the original strap that cam on my Nomos, and I don’t think anything else comes close to the style, comfort, and understated look. Anyway, thanks again for all the hard work you do on your channel, and I wish you continued success!
Many more colours out there just not used so much, Horween have about 10 different colours from Natural to whiskey and red brown , dark brown, Black , navy, green. Other producers make other colours.
Great review - I really appreciate you letting us know about this value and a good review of a shell cordovan strap - I've been interested in SC, but haven't seen one up close. I think this would look great on an Irish I have and the mixed length pieces would be perfect for my 7" wrist. I would definitely be interested to be entered to win this. Thank you! Wayne
