Hey Teddy, I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while now and I really appreciate what you’re doing for us, the new generation of watch enthusiasts. Really love your content and what you bring to the industry. Keep it coming.
I know this is late, but I got a watch from my late father. And I tried finding out what it was and found you. You have gotten me into watches almost single handedly and I’ve already started collecting (seiko Prospex, and presage) You have taught me why watches are cool, how they work, and how to style them. Thank you for everything you do!
As a professional mechanic, any G-Shock is the way to go. I have two in my collection and those are my go-to for when I’m doing any heavy or dirty work. Comfortable and utilitarian and not afraid to beat the crap out of it. I just couldn’t bring myself wear a Duro or a Seiko in the shop. Awesome video, I really like these videos where you teach the types of watches to wear in each situation while showing actual products.
I would agree. I used to mechanic and now work outside out of a bucket truck. G-Shock is the only watch I can wear for work that will take a beating. I still wrench on vehicles at home, and with my regular job, if I were to wear that Casio Duro or Seiko, I would have it torn to pieces in about a week. When I'm not working, I wear a couple different Tissot's and a business Seiko.
Smart. Never want to beat up a watch for no reason but G shocks are still awesome and are meant for the task. I work with kids and sometimes I’ll be like it’s a good day to wear my expensive watches to work and a hit will run up and hit my wrist with a toy or put my watch in their mouth
Wow, that Mido! Much respect for their commitment to quality but I don't always find myself too drawn to their designs. This multifort looks like it could have cost ten times as much, easily my favourite from Mido, and one I would go for in the dressier every day style!
All new in the watch game, so got a blue end a black dial Duro, and my son ,of 17,also loves to rock them both, ordered the Casio metal bracelets, for a more jewellery look, and combined with my new aguascaphe in blue, I got the impressive and understated, at a reasonable cost. Thanks Teddy, for good tasteful advice, in the world of watches👌
You skipped the best dress up or dress down watch out there--the Omega Aqua Terra. I own the blue dial 38mm version. It looks great with a suit or with shorts and a T-shirt. And with 150m WR I can take it anywhere from the beach to the office.
Fantastic video, Teddy! I'd just like to applaud the active effort you and the team put in to avoid the clichés and coming up with unique and interesting options for viewers to explore. It doesn't go unnoticed and we really appreciate that! Thank you and have a wonderful day!
The Seiko SARB035 is my all-purpose dressed up and office watch. Neutral white dial, a minimalist-but-elegant sculpted case design, reasonable water resistance, and 38mm, so it’s the perfect dress watch size for my wrist. If I can go a bit more casual, then I’ll wear my white no-date Zodiac Super Sea Wolf on a Jubilee-style bracelet.
I have one of those multifunctional solar watch and to be honest, I absolutely hate it. Setting the time is ridiculously hard. I would like to take a hammer to it.
You’ve got this very accurate Teddy, well done! I am applied mathematician who works as a data scientist at a startup company, and my daily watch is the Rolex Milgauss with the Z-blue dial.
Great series, Teddy. It would also be cool to see a series suggesting watches for specific activities/pastimes/pursuits (beyond the obvious big categories like diving). For example: I do a lot of motorcycle touring. On a two-week motorcycle trip, I tend to focus on the ride and the landscape and lose track of what day it is. So I find it helpful to wear a watch that’s quickly and easily legible, and that has a day/date display. Other considerations are size (it shouldn’t be too bulky under the sleeve of my jacket and glove gauntlets, but also shouldn’t be silly small on my big fat wrist), cost (don’t want to risk an expensive watch on a potentially adventurous trip), and lume (helpful to be able to read the watch in the tent in the middle of the night). I’ve ended up with a Hamilton Khaki King auto as my touring watch. For the smaller-wristed, a Seiko SNK would be a great choice. I’d love to see what suggestions come up for other kinds of everyday use cases.
powermatic 80 is a great choice because essentially when you're in the office you're working a lot around computers and I've noticed in my own personal experience that some of my watches that don't have a silicone hair string become magnetized. It's such a fresh breath of air not having to worry about that with my omega and Tissot
@@TeddyBaldassarre Hi Teddy! The Ocean Star Tribute has some really classic styling which makes it ooze old school cool. I have pretty skinny wrists myself so I find myself wistfully pining for the Ocean Star GMT, which I could never pull off. Ah well.
Was out watch shopping and almost pulled the trigger on this exact Mido but got turned off by the 19mm lug width. For a close to $1K watch it would be nice to have strap options. Other than that the watch is gorgeous.
If the Casio Duro is too big for you and you want a "Multi-situational" "beater" you could get the Invicta 37.5mm prodiver for less than $60. It's very slim, the case is actually somewhat more retro style and less submariner/oystercase, has a solid link bracelet (hollow end links and pressed clasp but its really nice for the price)
Hospitality is the largest employment sector in the country by a wide margin. fine dining line cooks are very much into watches in NYC! We’d love to hear about what you think handles heat, water, and isn’t too bulky!
I have one of those square faced Omega Constellations from 1975 that is my ideal everyday watch, it really looks great in any environment and suits my age.
To celebrate all of 2022’s anniversaries around the watch world we are pleased to announce you as the winner of the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Red Watch.. Text me via the above number to redeem your gift..
In the dress watch category, between the Dolce Vita and the Zentih I would have added the Baume & Mercier Clifton blue dial. It’s around 3 K. Beautiful
@@Alex-zr4yl If I’m thinking of the right one, Watchfinder reviewed it in a “three watch collection” video, but they did not go too in depth on it. Sorry if I’m mistaken, but I always appreciated B&M too! Would love to get Teddy’s take on it.
It’s one of the best designed Mido watches in my view. They really got it on this one, it’s even better looking than higher range watches from Mido and has a very long history. I bought mine almost a year ago. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
I love these watch collections for the different personas, they require a lot of thought and justification that you do very well Teddy. As usual great macro shots of the different options.
Got this Mido … excellent value for the price, on my wrist often at the office ! It plays with light very well, sunny days are welcome to appreciate it outside
Since 2020 lockdown, spending less time at the office and more time at home, I’m now more picky having less occasion to go out wear a timepiece. I have my routine now: 😅 - dressy-Monday - vintage-Wednesday - casual/tool watch-Friday ... and finally I just keep that routine at home or I won’t wear much my watches. Bronze and pilot are also a good pick for my casual-Friday. 👍 And Zenith is now on my radar for a dress option. 😎
I'm an engineer that prototypes and builds electromagnetic actuators. I have two Casio duros, and a Hamilton khaki that sometimes needs to be demagnetized. Now I'm in the market for a chronograph. Something that has a classic look but a very functional and visible dial. And something that can hold up well next to electromagnetic coils that might hit it with a few teslas. Its also gotta hold up well when working on machines
I really enjoyed this video, watched with my wife and she wished some more ladies watches were represented. That said we both appreciate the content as always. Thx
Teddy, I love the video! A recommendation, the video cuts of you at the desk were a bit harsh when your hands went from stretched out to at your front.
I have been watching his videos for the past 7 days - non stop - so damm addicting ! I have a collection of , Oris BC4 , tag carrera 1887 grey dial, Hamilton intramatic chrono panda, Hamilton Pilot 46 mm black dial with rose gold, Tissot T race moto gp khaki- keep this great content coming sir !! Fan of your great work !! So glad I found you to help guide me in this new journey !
Yes I work at a warehouse and coincidentally got an Arnie out of your recommendation via another article and loving it! It's really rugged and fits my everyday style as well
Love all your content, Teddy! Which watch were you wearing in this video? Looked interesting. Maybe you should also talk about the watch you’re wearing at the end of every video!
Your channel is so good. I have binge watched almost all of your videos - incredibly engaging, informative and professionally presented content. Even though I have been a watch admirer for years, I have not pursued them. Your content has reinvigorated my passion - My 3 watch dream collection is the Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph, The 41 MM Omega Aqua Terra ( Blue dial) and the Nomos Orion
My job is both office work and hands-on work. One moment I'm participating in corporate meetings the other I'm changing the sensors on an AGV. My watches of choice are Seiko SNXS79 and a casio F91W green.
The Omega Deville's fill a nice Business/Business Casual roll nice in house movement with a well known Brand and compact enough to slip under your cuff, you can usually fine one in the 2800-3200k range. Love the Milaguss but good luck finding one at Retail Price probably have to pay 12-15k to land one today and that's too much. Great content as always.
I was just able to get an OP 41 at retail price maybe you could get a milagauss if you get lucky. I have always thought the devile is a really awesome looking and underrated everyday wearer.
Tissot Gentleman's Powermatic 80 is a good everyday driver choice, however, I think you missed out on the 1-watch collection ---> Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. I have 8 watches in my collection, including the aforementioned Tissot, a Breitling, a Hamilton Batman Diver as well as some Orient and Seiko Presage /5 choices, however, since I've gotten the Omega about 3 years ago - all others collect dust and have not been worn. I wear the Omega (on the stainless steel bracelet - w/blue dial) everywhere. Office, at home, evening out, golfing, swimming, hiking, biking, skiing... It'd such a comfortable, versatile and easy wear - and tough as nails. IMHO, it can't be beaten for price/value and sadly, missing from this video.
You should have a look at the Seiko Alpinist remake, the only Prospex having no diver's look. The SPB289J1 looks stunning, for instance. Also, for static jobs, Quartz movements might be a good option, so any high-end option here?
I’ve been rocking my Hamilton aviation khaki pilot “cooper” these days whenever I pop into the office (shirt/tie) and as a daily while I work. Great all rounder and fits under a cuff. As long as you don’t have tiny wrists it doesn’t wear big and is very functional w/its day/date complication. The datejust only comes out for more formal occasions, but in general for a daily I don’t feel like I should be wearing a much “higher end” watch than my boss as a rule of thumb.
This was well done--different watches at a variety of price points for different office environments. The F.P. Journe, though, was unrealistic--costing more than most people's cars. Fantastic watch but a better fit in those videos showing unattainable dreams. I think there was a place for Omega in some of the categories.
Yeah I would have liked to see that one replaced by a budget choice, Orient Bambino is already mentioned all over the place so maybe a Jazzmaster or something
After two years of pandemic I almost forget what an office is - other than my home office. However I find myself using a watch more than ever in a WFH setup.
When younger had divers field watches still have them. But now that I'm a lot older I don't like dinner plates a nice uncluttered white dial mini second hand dial 38 m lug to lug 20 I like the look of longines.
I used to work at two different vape shops (ASM at one store and SM at another) and no way would I feel comfortable wearing an Oris or Omega to work... I'd be afraid that I would too soon be parted with them forcefully...
@@dandc2011 I live in rural England, know most of the nefarious locals and I've never been in a situation where I've thought I could be robbed...the average vaper in the UK is female in their 40s so I'm not concerned about theft ( that's what insurance is for anyway ) Thanks for your comment mate 👍🏻
As an aerospace engineering student, I really hope to get my hands on the rolex milgauss someday and I really appreciate that you included it in the video.
A Rolex Datejust 16220 is my go-to for the office, formal events and also casual wear. I switch between a jubilee bracelet and leather straps, even a leather Nato. It is very versatile! For outdoors acticities etc I use my Steinhart Military, Smiths Everest or my Gshock 5000.
Can’t go wrong with a Datejust for any situation. I just picked up an OP which is obviously pretty close to a DJ minus the date and I have had it on wrist non stop
Hi Teddy, curious here do you think the Muhle Glashutte S.A.R. Rescue timer would be able to stand a beating, I know the price tag is high, but if it can handle rough treatment it might be a great choice? Just curious on your take on it's robustness...... Also would you be willing to do a comparison video on the Oris Aquis 200 and the Longines hydro conquest???
The you, Teddy for another fine presentation. I would have thought that a G Shock would’ve been included for the rougher work environment group. These sorts of targeted presentations are enjoyable. All my best.
Rather than the Zenith for the mid business professional watch, I would think the Baume et Mercier Clifton Baumatic would be the best pick. A movement with a 5 day power reserve, 10 year service intervals, antimagnetic, and runs at 4Hz that's COSC certified. 40mm case and 10mm thick with exceptional finishing.
What's up Teddy, I stumbled upon your channel today after picking up a Seiko 5 as an everyday watch. I thought you looked super familiar and realized we went to highschool together. Subscribed and hope all is well!
Because of your vids, the oris aquis date has grown on me. Also, congrats again on your engagement! Additionally has anyone asked about couples' watches? His and her watches from the same collection...pretty much the same except for the case size. Could be a neat anniversary idea. Or a subtle way to match without wearing the same outfit lol
What you said about the JLC Polaris, I feel about the Zenith Defy, especially the new Skyline with the starred dials. I love that you didn’t go for the obvious Submariner/Speedmaster/Reverso/Tank etc…
Hey Teddy - I'm a long time subscriber to your channel and one thing I think you should add to the watch specs sheet is the *movement accuracy and/or whether it is a chronometer or not*. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Hi Teddy, great video.. I like your videos because it is very relatable (affordable ranges).. Keep it going!! Where can I find your reviews on Tag Heur? Or you absolutely stay away from Tags? lol.
I work as a marine engineer and I use the Vostok kommandirsky GMT 200m it is the perfect watch 2 time zones watertight even when knocked around and a robust (think ak47) automatic movement..... My clear recommendation
Hey teddy, Ive had a Hamilton Jazzmaster day date since 2013 and its an absolute delight… i keep myself always why the isn’t this watch mentioned by watch enthusiasts and people like yourself? Cheers.
