On island basilos spawn near herbivore island pretty frequently and on rag they spawn in masses near the island with the bunker north of bearpaw islands and south of the swamp.

my favorite way of finding good basilosaurus's is by using the snow owl. the snow owl is probably the best creature to find other creatures. I'm so happy WildCard added them to the game.

In my recent playthrough of the island I had a food theme for dino names. Basilo ended up being named Kielbasi as a play on kielbasa sausage. Love the vids and congrats on 500k! Keep it up!

Yeah berry is bugged with picking up enemy inventory. When it reaches a certain weight, even if it’s not even close to being heavy, it’ll stop collecting for me and it’s really annoying.

Basilo 1 name is Sea sausage and basilo 2 name is sea cucumber

when you go over half of the weight that a animal can carry it wont pick up the inventory anymore. thats why it stops picking up stuff ;)

Use scuba leggings to deal with cold in the water. The primitive can keep you warm in all but the coldest of waters, but they ONLY work in the water.

The reason that your dino doesn't collect trophies from dead animals is because it's carry weight is over 50% of its maximum.

When you tame the xyphactinus you should Call it SYNphactinus

Fur Armor doesn’t keep you warm under water. It soaks up and make your freezing worse

Something odd I've kinda noticed (but would need confirmation on) is that a lot of my carnivores will chow down on fish meet but leave their own raw meat alone... like, guys you have your own!! Stop eating the piscivore's meat!! But yeah that's what they seem to go for, and they eat a LOT of fish meat. XD So to solve this I've ended up just separating out my piscivores entirely into the water base area, and now they no longer run out of fish meat so frequently. Before when I had my piscivores and carnivores combined, I'd be OUT of fish meat every other day (and I have Ultra Stacks too).

You lose the insulation of fur in water, using literally anything else for insulation the water is better :)

Fur in water XD omg it makes you colder man! I have 2 basilos on a SE server (yes the desert lol) named Salami and Pastrami, refugees from a former crystal isles server. The only creatures that only eat fish are baryonix, pelagornis, hesperornis, icthyornis, maybe spino and the otter. Every other carnivore will eat raw meat, even ocean dwellers.

Don’t Spinos eat raw meat to, not just fish meat?

So I have a problem with a Ark lately well a huge problem. For some reason Ark will just stop working and take me back to the home screen. Then when I get back on all the items I had including surrounding creatures disappear and I can't get them back. Does anyone know what I can do to help fix this? I lost a very high level fire dragon and it was actually my very first dragon and now he's gone 😭 rip Drogon.....

I know Syntac likes the water, but I don't think the majority of people do. I have a strong dislike for it. I've played ARK for a long time and have many memories of my game crashing while underwater and my character drowning. Not sure if that is still a thing, but I can't help but dislike the water because of it. If your game crashes on land, you don't automatically end up dead. The other thing I don't like about the water is how unbalanced it is. On land, survival of the fittest is a thing. Carnivores kill other creatures and the strongest survive. In the water I can't think of one creature that kills anything other than you and your tame. Also on land, if you chose, you can ride a bird and avoid 99% of the things that want to kill you. In the water, there is no flying above. Now if there was a creature that could fly in the air and in the water, that would be very cool. Yes, your comment "you can ignore it" (the sea) is probably because that is what so many people wanted (they didn't like the sea), so the devs made it an optional thing, which is good.

I'm not sure if it's been said already and dont know if u already know. But sometime I don't know when wc made it to where once ur dino reaches half its weight or more it doesn't auto pick up the extra loot from dinos. So for instance u have ur bary at more then half weight and u kill a alpha u would get the norm pick axe and hatchet and teeth but it leave a bag instead of putting it in the inventory. Even if victim item collection is enabled. Which sucks because u can't hold alot more weight before it gets encumbered. It's like wc wants us to carry less resources even though we can hold more. So now we will spend more time dropping resources we may need. This sucks because say ur on a rex or a giga and ur going on a meat run. Say it's 2x harvesting. Well u will reach half the weight of ur dino in no time. Then say u run into a alpha rex and have to kill it. Now it wont pick up its rex tooth the berries or gear, only the meat. It sucks wc makes the game harder to play and takes the fun away little by little.

I have to refute your claim. I can't think pf a single thing that a Basilosaurus can do that a Squid can't. Considering a squid can literally grab a Mosa and suck it to death it is hands down the best water mount.

1:11 Fur armor provides no cold protection while in the water. SCUBA leggings provide 200 cold protection while in the water (only). Whereas even if the fur armor did work in water, you would need a full set to benefit from the same amount of cold protection. When shoulder carried an otter can provide up to 82% of its melee damage as cold protection. Although it's oxygen consumption and low health can be a problem.
