Fun fact; you can remove the pans and pan holder and put in a few of the large Kuretake pans in using sticky tac to hold them in place. You can't have as many colours but it makes for a nice small travel set with colours of your choice.
I like how it comes with a cream color! That’s a rarity in watercolor set. Makes it much easier to mix skin tones. What a plus! Also I like how they work on black paper! I know Black watercolor paper is rare but if I could find some I think that watercolor set would be good to use with it. Noice! I want that set now!
I used to HATE water brushes, until I tried the pentel ones and now I love them for portable settings. It does make it so easy to use just the one brush and have a little bottle of water to fill it. I clean out those little squeeze containers that hold Arizona tea or crystal light concentrate, they are perfect for the job, and tiny!😸 They are also so handy for when you aren't feeling great, and just want to sketch on the couch or in bed. I still prefer my normal brushes for most times at home at my desk, and larger paintings though. I've been wanting to try the Kuretake paints. I'd like to make a mini palette with their large pans, but this is adorable and handy.✌💙😸
I love how the painting turned out.😍Looks so fluid. I really want these watercolors now. It can't be a Kattvalk painting without a kittie and mushrooms.😊💕
The pans are like that, I think, because that way the water stays in the pan without sploshing around when you move it. Great video, I love your content!
Here's an idea. I would love to see you put some of your art in a book to paint. There are not many of those type books to paint on the market and your work would be fun to paint.
Glad I’m not the only one having a fall feeling! Here in Belgium it’s also cold and rainy. Beautiful piece of art again ! Have a nice and save week ! X
I would be over the moon to find a beige and a brown in a paint set - all skin tones would be readily available to me. The grey is less essential and I would swap that for a deeper green.
At the first time I thought it was the kuretake transparent set. Good to know that kuretake give clear choice because some of us love more transparent set and some of us love more opaque set. Thank you for your review 💐
Hiss work is so amazing.... He inspired me to open up my own RU-vid channel recently with anime art content in it.... But I don't have much people engaging yet so that I can start up making a fun community
I love how this piece turned out. This watercolor set is so nice. That beige color looks like Naples yellow and I do like it, personally. Thanks for this review 😍
Your water painting looks amazing yet again, love how the paints look will keep checking sight for when they become available. Such a fun way to start my Sunday, Sally you so cute.
I need this set !!! I love my Gansai Tambi watercolor set, but my only issue with it has always been its lack of portability. Can't wait to get this set and solve that problem!
Obligatory Sally visitation for the win!! I really do love these paints. Knowing they have a travel set makes them even more attractive. Thank you for the wonderful review, and gorgeous art
I think one of the reasons why they added the white and black paint to the set is because the paint is similar to gouache and with gouache when you want to make a color lighter you add white paint whereas with watercolor you would just water it down more. Idk why they would grey in the mix though. At least make it Payne’s grey
I just got some of these paint pans in my Art Snacks box and loved them. I like the idea of a portable version and I agree about the colors in this set. Cute fall illustration!
I made a small travel set with five colors. These paints are awesome if you like opaque colors. Beautiful picture!! Thanks for sharing. You can buy the colors individually at ArtSnacks website.
Honestly this is a pretty solid set, I just bought my sakura koi pocket field sketch so I don't think I am picking up this any time soon but nevertheless a very nice initiative from them.
Ah these paints really do look cool. I have recently got into watercolor art. I had gotten a koi watercolor set for Christmas last year but I hadn’t been in much of a watercolor set but now I have a light box to trace pieces on to my watercolor paper so yep that makes it easier lol
I'm happy to see they came back out with these I have there old Travel set that has more colors I hope they make replacement pans for this set they are the same as the Old set but with fewer colors but the pans are the same. So I look forward to seeing them make replacement pans I just got to hope for that.
Please send that cold rainy weather to the US, it's so hot with this massive heat wave hitting even up to Canada. This set seems very wonderful, maybe the reason they give a bit of space in the pans is so that way the water can pool up into it. For any on the go artists, it may be good to look into pen shaped squirt bottles. They sell hand sanitizer in this shape, but after using the sanitizer they can be reused for water. Same with Breath spray bottles as well.
Thank you for the competent review, you convinced me to grab some gansai pans! I'm a sucker for beiges and greys, so this colour selection is good for me ;)
I've had that palette for a while and I just really love the mixing spaces!! My set came with different paints though (identical to the set Eve Bolt has a video on), with western style watercolors instead of gansai paints. Love the palette design, I've not seen any other like it.
ooh i want this set! i wonder if they will make more travel sets, like if you only do urban sketching i feel like this could need a lot of mixing to get the correct colors. very nice painting!
Ughh I want the 48 set so bad!!! I got a couple of them in a subscription box and fell in love 😍 buuuut can’t afford them right now it’ll be quite a while before I get there the whole patience is a virtue applies sooooo much right now that I’m struggling with very bad lol
Ah~ I love your art! They always look like some beautiful drawings from coloring books. The lineart always gives the feeling of "Wanna color!" and with the beautiful colors added it is just wonderful! Also totally feel like digging out my watercolors now and make a piece with it, even if they are not Kuretake ones :D
You're making me crave fall even more than I already am TT^TT But I always love your Kuretake pieces you really know how to work the vibrancy while still keeping a watercolor look
I found a similar set because your link went to a Spanish language amazon (which normally would be cool) and because shipping to the US is restricted right now I tried to find the same from an American amazon seller. I ended up with a box that was all in Japanese and came with a Kuretake drawing pen in 03 instead of the mangaka pen in 01, as well as a more primary color selection - I didn't have a grey or beige, I had 3 greens, split primary colors, purple, burnt sienna, umber, black & white. Not certain what the difference is, as I don't read Japanese well enough to know if there are just different sets or what. BTW , i -LOVE- this illustration so so much it is so adorable :)
@@Kattvalk Could be my phone did something weird or I clicked on something else by mistake! I will try from my PC another time, because I actually REALLY love the design of the palette now that I've used it for 2 mini paintings and I love gansai paints, so I would not mind having two!!
Yes - clicking on it from my computer worked and took me to the same set in your video. It's my birthday next week so I have free reign to buy art supplies so happy birthday to me!
I wonder if that little box would fit some of the larger pans from the big set? Then you could just take 6-7 colors with you. You could put sticky tac on the bottom of the big pans, or magnetic strips and put them into a smaller pallete, just bring colors you need.
One of my pet peeves is white watercolor. It's mainly useless unless used for hazy or clouded effects. they could have easily changed the white for a yellow orche
I love my small Van Gogh Mini palettes (vibrant but probably not as covering as those), but that one looks really tempting to get 🥰, even I'd probably miss the rel primaries, cyan and magenta are usually the colours I always get as additional single pans. (Or bottles or pencils or pens or whatever - depending on the medium ^^'). Maybe I just should just start saving some money again for little treats like this :3
I think they may have sent you a Manga set. Hence the colour selection. Hey great channel, and love your drawing style. Are these dye based colours? If so they might work on fabric after fixating. I might try that out...:)
How do the pans compare to regular watercolor pans? For example, if I want to remove the piece under the paints to fit regular pans (with blue tack or something) instead of the Gansai pans, would it work?
Hi! I really like your art! Could maybe do a tutorial on how to draw cats sometime? I would really appreciate that, I have alot of trouble drawing them lol
I have the big set of these watercolors. I love them but don't use them as much anymore because they're so big. My birthday is in September and I definitely hope someone gets me this travel set.
not that it really matters but the correct pronunciation for kuretake is something along the lines of ku-reh-ta-keh if that makes sense! the “ke” has more of an eh sound :)
Hey :) Great video! Could you please try out the Renesans watercolors? I bought them in single pans and they are really, really cheap, but also pretty good! I enjoy working with them, they are honey based and really pigmented. They are just so unknown!
