I've said a few times on this channel, and I'll continue to repeat myself as long as it applies- Para Bellum's Conquest Warband boxes are the best way to check out the game, and build up an interesting variety of unique models.
I think that's one of the nicest things about these sets- there's such a breadth of variety to each faction, each of these sets (and there's multiples even amongst the same faction) give you a nice selection of kits to start with.
