The Best Way To Clean A Record 

Now you guys need to do a cleaning video for CDs, DVDs, and BluRay disks. Yes it is a request. Anthony does a great job on this video showing what to use and how to clean a LP.

You should do one of these on repairing scratched CD’s.

Awesome. I am glad you guys clean your records before putting them out for sale. There is a shop here in Houston that sale their used records the same way they got them in. Full of dirt, hair and fingerprints and they charge you stupid prices. I hate that. No care for customers and products.

I moved house recently, and finally got around to unpacking my modest record collection and turntable. I think my LPs could do with a clean, Amazon here I come!

Well done guys.. I thought I was the only guy out there who was really doing this cleaning method but now that I have watched you both enjoying looking after your records I would say spot on & enjoy what we all enjoy cleaning our records before we play them.

This Spin Clean vid is excellent, the Spin Clean record cleaner works like a dream! The process of using it is strangely satisfying, and the final results are stellar! I've been using mine for many years and my vinyl sounds better than anyone else's in the entire world......😁

You need to try a Knosti Disco-Antistat Record Washing Machine. The big difference is the use of brushes rather than the pads. I think that the brushes do a better cleaning job but the machine is slightly more (fiddly?) to deal with. I actually modified the pads on my Spin Clean to accept the brushes from the Knosti Disco-Antistat. It was a pain in the ass but now I have the effectiveness of a Knosti with the ease of use of a Spin Clean.

It’s all about the process and trust the process…..😊

I pretty much do the same thing except I don't use the cloth that comes with it, I use Microfiber only and I don't do the air dry thing.

I use the spin clean too. It’s effectiveness is simple: distilled water cleans records and this provides the tub. The advantage of the expensive ones is the vacuum, but they’re very expensive. At least a grand for. Good one.

Spin clean! The best and cheapest method. Works great. Btw love the Clash Convention Center poster! I have one too! I was there for one of the shows.

I use the disco anti-stat, i have 2, one for cleaning, the other for rinsing.

Spin clean is fantastic, it's affordable and does a great job.

This might sound stupid but do you have any videos on how to play a vinyl record or tips? I grew up with cassettes and CD's, vinyl was a bit before my time so I never actually played one. There is some stuff that only exists on vinyl I would like to get but have been slightly intimidated not having any experience.

I have a spin clean and it does work well for cleaning grime and finger prints but does not get deep down in the grooves which is why I now use a ultra sonic as well.

What no Zerostat Anti-Static gun? I don't know for sure how well they work. But they worked really great at shocking my friends =) and them getting even with me =0. I also remember buying Anti Static sleeves for my album. I did see that Sebastian Bach also likes collecting old albums as well. His way of cleaning or restoring a records blows my mind, but he stands by it. He uses White Wood Glue like Elmer's Wood Glue. Apply a lawyer, let dry and peel it off. Think I saw it on "What's In Your Bag?" here on YT. Wonder if you guys have heard or tried this before?

If you have a very dusty/dirty record do you dry clean it before putting it into the Spinclean?

Can y’all recommend a good way to repair split album covers? (Ones that not only split on the top, but split completely across the top and bottom. I’ve got two double albums with completely split on top and bottom.)

Thanks guys but nah... I'll stick to the ultrasonic. No chemicals needed and no touching the disc at all. Completely contactless.

Spin clean is good but i always find the rollers want to jump out of the groove.

The most effective way to clean old records is to get an actual expensive record cleaning machine. You need to be able to suck the dust and dirt out of the grooves

Has anyone ever used wood glue to clean their records? I watched a video of Sebastian Bach and he swears by it. (Cover the vinyl in glue, let it dry, and then peel it off).

I bought one two years ago and was underwhelmed by it. To each their own. I would recommend it for budget lp's. It's better than nothing.
