So good to see you are still delivering great work today like seeing an old friend!I took your Heavy Metal Guitar series to enter the world of guitar as a total beginner several years ago,and nowadays those songs in the books always remind me the happy and unforgettable memories of spending all day practicing...Thank you so much Troy and keep working on!\m/Greet From China

Playing a drone note backing track would achieve the same perception of the tonal center?

Great explanation there Troy. Would it help me even further to play sequences over rhythm/drum tracks? i.e. to maximize the musical application of them?

Always good to play in different grooves. When it comes to sequences, I like to intentionally mismatch the note groups with the timing... so if it's, say, groups of 4 notes, play it in triplets or sextuplets, etc. Adds another dimension of interest and also makes it more musically useful IMO

thank you, Troy, for yet another great video! your tone is great as well, excuse the nerd in me for asking what amp were you using in this video?

Axe FX 3… think it’s probably the Marshall AFS100 with Rat distortion pedal fronting it. I have about 6 main amp patches I’ve created… a few Marshall’s, Mesa, Engl, Diezel, 5150

Actually on listen I think it’s Mesa IV with treble boost pedal. A little thinner and tight splat on pick attack
