Great idea. I actually have a hollow rolling pin that you can put water in, usually cold water for pie crust but I never thought of using warm water for something like this. :-)
Not a recipe but more of a help hack; I freeze the mozzarella cheese and then blend it to a fine powder. When mixing it and heating, I find this a much easier and quicker way. (I bet I'm not alone ^^)
I just tried Fathead about a month ago. Since then, largely because of your bravery with experimenting, I have been making so many things. Sometimes it works and then sometimes it doesn't, but I keep trying because of you two and your zest to try new things. Thanks Ladies!!
Funny, Just last week I told my friend I was gonna start making fathead dough recipes again. I used to make Pinwheels wiht meat and cheese, that were popular. I've made Pizza, and hand pies, danishes, savory pie crusts, pigs in blanket. My friend complained that One slice of fathead pizza made him more full than regular pizza. What a problem to have. I am looking forward to trying it with coconut flour instead of almond flour and maybe lupin flour. KetoUpgrade Alysha made a pie crust with bamboo fiber and oat fiber and got me thinking about optios for lowere fat/calories depending on your fillings.
I have made cinnamon rolls that were really good. I have made bagels and buns ( buns are bagels when the hole closes). One of my favorite meals is lasagna with sliced chicken breast as the noodle. My brother couldn't tell the difference. This week I'm going to use sliced chicken as tortilla in enchiladas. I love how you guys aren't afraid of recipe failures. You are fun to watch. Keep up the great work.
Sugar Free Mom has a very good coconut flour fathead dough recipe. For folks, like me, who can’t tolerate too many nuts, her recipe is a hit! She also has a modified preparation method. God bless.
I've made fathead Danish before and they turned out great! I've also made chocolate fathead dough (remove some flour and add cocoa powder and sweetener) and made like a peanut butter pie (more like pizza) with it. I love the versatility of it.
Hey guys the best cheese I have found to use for the fat head dough is 6 cheese blend shredded. I get mine from Acme. I live in NY. But I've seen it in shop rite, Aldi etc. I also make pepperoni bread (I add garlic powder )right in with the dough, Also any kind of pocket broccoli ham and cheese. It's endless. This dough is so soft and pliable. 1 cup almond flour whole bag of cheese blend, and 3 oz cream cheese 1 egg. I put in a zip lock bag to knead it. Comes out mixed better that way❤
Not a fathead dough recipe, but I'm waiting for a keto Dairy Queen Blizzard! I love your videos no matter what you make. It's always good, even if it doesn't turn out. 🤣
I love watching your channel! This has nothing to do with fathead dough, but some of the things I have enjoyed on keto are baked eggs in avocado halves, zoodles with a mushroom sauce, steak with a sour creamy mustard sauce, leftover chicken lettuce cups, apple pie granola (nuts and seeds with apple pie spice), chocolate and orange mousse, cheese balls, smoothies, salami pizza cups, sloppy joes on keto buns. Just some ideas. If anything called for a sweetener, I'd always use Swerve. I'm not a stevia fan. I have no problem substituting ingredients. I make it work.
yes but you would be limited by the width of it, which may not be a problem. I have a pasta machine, would probably work well for making hand pies since they are limited in size to a few inches across. Will have to try and come back to compare notes. Will you use almond flour or any other alternative flour like Lupin or coconut? Bamboo and Oat Fiber are ingredient options also.
I get the Mission 0 carb taco size tortillas, cut them into chip size and fry them in lard till brown, put them on a towel and add salt. Those are my chips. I also fry the whole tortilla and sprinkle on granulated sweetener with cinnamon. tastes like a treat I used to eat as a kid.
The biggest reason (ok, maybe second, after "I like to") I make stuff myself is cost. Putting the word "Keto" on a package doubles or triples the hit on my wallet. Thanks for these... I hadn't seen a couple of these yet.
i love you guys! sarah "We've never fried it!'... proceeds to show videos of frying the corndogs!😂 seriously though... I have followed you guys for years and LOVE every video 😊
I have been making chaffles with my grandmother's pizzelle iron for about 9 years now. I've been trying to get other people to try it because they are thin, crispy and delish! I would love to see a video about that.
@@magical1025 Basic Chaffle recipe. I use 1/2 c mozzarella, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1 egg (for soft Chaffles), 2 tbsp super fine almond flour & for crispy Chaffles I use 2 egg whites instead of 1 egg.
There was a keto channel called keto for real life people and several years ago she used Lupin flour to make fat head dough and I believe a little different technique as well. She made several different items with the dough. I can’t remember everything she made except she did make pizza crust and French fries with it. Ps. I read a few comments and looks like someone has already mentioned her channel.
I'm going to try to make salmon Wellington with fathead dough!! I can't wait to try it!! Supposed to use puff pastry for it. I think it might work... Spinach cream cheese garlic and bread crumbs on top of salmon and wrapped in the dough ❤❤
I recently discovered a lady named (Life with) Nancy who made a video about 4 years ago using what she called Miracle Dough. It’s very similar to fathead dough, but with lupin flour. She made numerous things with her dough-crackers, egg rolls, tortillas, sweet and savory mini pies, etc. I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s on my list since I already have lupin flour. Thanks, ladies. Love your channel.
@@ketotwins I think it might be a rumor, but I tried making keto apple pie and it came out marvelous, at least the filling was very authentic. I used the crust recipe from gnom gnom and it was okay. I've not tried the fat head version yet....
They made both his mashed potatoes and refried beans in separate videos. They were amazed by them both- check them out!! I enjoyed them very much and hope they continue to choose his recipes to try here on their channel!! He’s a genius!! 🤗🤗🤗
Suggestion: I made the cheese burger casserole from Chris Cooks Nashville. I substituted his crust (his I gagged on) with fathead dough that I rolled between parchment paper.
Hi girls. You two are the best. Your videos always give me happiness. Love you both. Will check out fat head dough when I can. Thanks for another great video.😊❤
I really enjoy your videos! I’ve never made fathead dough so not sure if it would get thin enough for pot stickers or dumplings. Either fried or steamed. That would be fun to try!
I made the faux Bagel Bites like they serve at Dunkin with Fathead dough....they were delish. I actually couldn't tell the difference. I am very curious about some of the other suggestions you mentioned with Fathead dough. I've not used it very often, just because I don't have that kind of time. BUT, would love to try some of the ideas you suggested. Thanks!
Thanks ladies, I have to try this ❣️ would you please air fry some recipes? Looking forward to more videos ❣️ Question- you mentioned KetoFocus variation so I watched her cinnamon roll for one video but it doesn’t use cheese so it’s not fathead dough, so which one are you referring too? Thanks
SO, fat head dough, I just got my Chaffle skill set perfected, which was a breakthrough. Especially for someone who craves bread from time to time. So, thanks to your new and improved crunchy recipe, I'm enjoying these. And now, it's on to Fat Head Dough. That'll be fun! Really enjoy your videos. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks.
I love your videos! Keep up the good work. I've been trying to devise a way to make cream puffs, yum, maybe fathead dough would work for that? Experiments are always fun!
so many options.... I think if you use psyllium husks it can create pockets of hollows .... fill with a cream.... I am drooling thinking about it. If you figure it out, come back and update us on it. ❤
I would love for y’all to try the fat head dough for a pizza crust and see what you think about it. I’m all about the pizza and then you can even make a dessert pizza with it maybe😂 I also want all of the recipes that you just discussed at the end…but, especially pizza ones🤪
Fathead dough empanadas - intriguing! And then maybe your triangles, deep fried and then cinnamon "sugar" for a churro vibe?... I would watch that video! (I enjoy all your videos, so I would of course watch it!). I found you can make fathead dough with a food processor and you dont even need to microwave the cheese! It is softer and stickier - i use it for pizza and the whole family likes it.
Have you guys ever tasted Mexican empanadas? The dough is a short rising bread dough, not pie crust so they're best eaten the same day. That apple/ chayote hack sounds interesting. Traditional filing is sweet potato or pumpkin. Also, maybe you could try making Samosas ? You guys are a riot !😂
I would love to see some different things fried using fathead dough. I make jalapeño cheddar balls with it all the time. Just sliced jalapeño mixed into the basic dough recipe you used and then a cube of sharp cheddar place into the middle of a ball. Bake and you have the perfect snack. I love making cinnamon rolls with it too. Dense but very good.
What about as a topper for a pot pie? Also, Sarah, have you tried using AI for SEO improvements? I'd love you guys to see that 200K+ subscribers. Love you both. You feel like family, in a good way, not a weird way. 😂
Can’t believe I haven’t tried fathead dough yet! Thanks for the inspiration, ladies. ❤ p.s. I make salmon quiche using Swiss cheese as ‘crust’. Just line a greased pie dish with cheese slices, fill as desired, and you’re good to go! 😁😋😎
I absolutely love watching you two and am glad that you share with us. I would love to try the LMNT but I hate salt. I know you both love salt. So my question is, does it taste salty?
Hi , I’ve made the bagels with fat head dough. They were ok . I have tried the bagel recipe that you did with the flax seed and the yeast. I thought your recipe was healthier and it tasted more like a bagel.
If you have time and interest, could you do the same with a “carnivore” fatheaddough? I’m not sure what to use for the flour that is animal based. Love your videos, and your personalities!
I have a cheese steak stromboli on my channel, and I just used the same recipe to make a grilled cheese with carnitas....hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten
If you are making something like chips, can't you chill the dough and then use a food processor to cut it really thin instead of trying to roll it out flat?
How about ketofying PF Chang lettuce wraps. There are several recipes on YT and at least one shows you exactly which brands of ingredients are used in the restaurant version. One or two of the dipping sauces probably can’t be ketofied but they have several.
Not related to fat head dough, but have you guys done carnivore chips? Specifically, making the "CHICKEN CHIPS" using ground chicken and spices, rolled out very thinly then baking until crispy?? I've seen videos of them being baked in the oven and air fryer. I'd be really interested in seeing a video on you guys making that!! 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼
I'm craving Chinese house special fried rice since Sunday, 3 days & braving ittil special treat this weekend. YES, YOU DID MAKE IT on time! So funny.😂😂🎉
PASTA ! I want to see you guys go for pasta with the fathead dough. Can it be more noodle like than it sounds like it would be? Does it hold sauce? Can you sauté in the pan with a butter cream sauce? Does it swirl on the fork?
You know this is one keto staple i almost never use....its always super delicious, but i think i lack the kitchen space to properly roll it out and i am super lazy with parchment paper. I would never have believed how much low carb cooking relies on parchment paper 6 years ago when i first started keto lol
We like almond flour too, we still use it. We chose lupin flakes because you can use it as a thicker breading and then use it as flour, it’s multi use with one ingredient
