I really like wide view, although I do wish they'd let us see what the monsters in a Hunt-a-thon/Elder Dragon Interception is going to be before it becomes active while in Wide mode. Overall, it's another one of those features Niantic should have implemented day one. I can only assume they didn't because they didn't know that Monster Hunter Now would become its second biggest cash cow behind Pokemon Go. Also, I think someone on the r/MonsterHunterNow Discord tried to use a feature with Campfire, only for the game to crash on them.
It has nothing to do with the cash. Moreso it takes to implement stuff into Campfire. Rather than wait and delay it even further, they did it at the same time they were improving the Pokémon GO Campfire map. Just be grateful we even have it in-game and we can SEE EVERYTHING! you don't even have that capability in Pokémon GO. You can only view the map in Campfire.
There's no correlation between the two. Highly unlikely DL's were nerfed because of this feature, Campfire integration was requested by the community and its in Pokémon GO. They also improved the Pogo Campfire interface.
Wide view has been awesome! Don’t have to physically drive to the other side of town after work to “hope” that I get the biome I want!😌 And campfire…good for them that can actually use it, but for us poor rural people, we’ll just have to stick with DLs and HATs if we want group hunts!🥲
