What happned to the evaluation of the other courts? Was the blue really the only one that seamed interesting? There were really many cool cards in this set, so I don't blame you for having to cut it at some point though. All the love for Sheldon. The send off was really beatifull 💕 May he rest in peace.

Sheldon took time out of his incredibly busy life to talk to as many of us as he could. I did not know him personally but we had a great conversation on reddit for his last AMA. I built a deck based on his "stop hitting yourself" deck in his honor, and cannot wait to play it. RIP Sheldon. You created this amazing format that is open to all and changed so many people's lives for the better, mine included.

I was never able to meet him but I have followed his articles on his play by play of commander since he started. I was the only one in my home town with 13 commander decks before 2011. I would bring them with me weekly to Friday nights and get others to play along. No one was willing to make a deck of their own. If they only knew what the format would be like in the future. He was simply amazing!

1:00:30 I've been running a Kess, Dissident Mage adventure deck since the first trip to Eldraine (this set gave some great upgrades). I had to explain to so many people why I could do this and why I was able to exile to the adventure to cast as creatures later rather than exiling them to Kess as the adventure resolves.

For those still confused by the flashback/adventure interaction, I had to do a little extra research to understand it: In this video they say that "They (lier/wrenn) check if the card is an instant or sorcery on the stack and not in the graveyard". That sounds weird, because the effects literally say "instant and sorcery card(s) in your graveyard", which sounds like they are checking in your graveyard. Here's the relevant rules that explain what's happening more clearly. - 601.2a To propose the casting of a spell, a player first moves that card (or that copy of a card) from where it is to the stack... Any continuous effects that modify the characteristics of the spell as you start casting it begin as it is put on the stack. - 601.2e The game checks to see if the proposed spell can legally be cast. The spell gets placed on the stack _before_ the game checks to see if it can legally be cast. By the time the game makes this check, the spell is already an instant/sorcery that was cast from the graveyard with flashback, which Lier says is legal, so the game is satisfied. Really weird and I guess you can technically propose illegal spells whenever you want, place them on the stack, get to step 601.2e, find out it's illegal and the game rewinds to before you put it on the stack. 2:05:35 Virtue of Courage is great in Prosper. It did the thing almost immediately. Both the adventure and the enchantment. I've played it a few times and I'm really glad for the "may" portion. Things get out of hand quick.

This opening hit me hard. I am new to commander and to content creators in it so I have not had the chance to meet him in any way. A man who was willing to go the extra mile for his format, the game as a whole and the player base. A man who wanted to seek out every opinion on the game and loved the challenge while doing it and still showing smiles and love despite the discourse we may have. the best card for Agatha's soul cauldron is Amodeus the Archfiend, give all your creatures with +1/+1 counters pay 3 black draw 7 cards or get interesting with it and exile a walking ballista to make an infinite +1/+1 counters creature (I use Grimgrin Corpseborn for example and make him infinitely big) then kill everyone by removing those +1/+1 counters

I think extraordinary journey should rather be looked at as two mana draw up two 4 cards per rotation in a dedicated blink deck where you have tons of ways to blink your stuff on their turn and basically adds to all your blink targets the additional text "When this ETB draw a card". So I would often just run this out turn 2 or three not worrying at all about the removal side.

In some enchantment builds, like my Sisay Shrines, Asinine Antics is an powerhouse. Doomwake Giant turns it into an extremely good one-sided wipe. Gets around indestructible and shroud/hexproof. Nothing is safe. Then on top of that you’ll get your draws or Pegasus tokens etc. Absolute all-star.

You can play Extraordinary Journey for X=0 as a draw engine, with the option to "bounce" a creature if needed. I'll use it in my Aminatou blink deck to draw each turn with Deadeye Navigator/Eldrazi Displacer, though it's not as good with Cascade or impulsive draw because you specifically need to cast a creature

Soul caldron can give a +1/+1 counter to Glen elendra arch mage. Simply having the option means you can sac the archmage many times over, all while accrewing more aibilities and removing cards in graveyards.

One thing about Gruff triplets that you didn't touch on that I've been using to great effect already is using your sac outlet as a combat trick. Attacking an opponent with two blockers? Sac the two blocked Gruff triplets and smash face with the remaining huge one. If they have bigger creatures than you, sac one to pump the other two to survive/win combat. You can do all sorts of tricky things whenever you attack with more than one of them and have a way to sac. I love this card. Also, if you're in a token deck with access to blue, casting Echoing Reverberations targeting Gruff Triplets and turning all your tokens into copies of it is really fun.

Virtue of Courage goes to my Tor Wauki the Younger. Any cantrip with Guttersnipe type effect gives you more options for more and more cantrips. In magical christmas land you have Prosper on board for treasures.

No love for the mythic turtle! There’s a bunch of fun stuff with him including some infinite things with the land ability cost reduction. Also just solid land ramp and graveyard filling value every turn. Excited to try it in my yarok deck
