I love this pod but I wish it wasn’t filmed so far in advance. The banter ends up being so repetitive and outdated by the time the ep goes live. I’m watching regardless because I love your convos though!
I wish real world LinkedIn and recruiters thought like Matt when it comes to descriptions for the work you’ve done, they literally force you to give too much detail otherwise you never get hired.
Matt saying he can break bread with anyone from any political side, and that he wants them to see that he “can be human as well” is so funny coming from the straight white male that he is lmao love him though
@@emm7412 Literally nothing lol I’m not saying he shouldn’t get along with people with different beliefs, it’s just the way he phrased it as if right-winged people would see him any different because of his personal beliefs. He’s a white man from texas, and comes from a rich family who is most likely right-winged themselves. It’s easy for him to “see all sides” when the other side is voting for things that would never affect him. Again, I couldn’t care less who he “breaks bread with” it’s just silly that he thinks he’s accomplishing anything by showing right-wingers that he “can be human” when in their eyes, he is the standard/superior human by default.
@@alisontorres71this is a perfect take. No hate on Matt I absolutely adore him but the contrast is vast and as a central American immigrant woman of color I just can’t break bread with far right Republicans.
Mike & Erin seem soo insecure or something they both can say anything but if they don’t agree or understand it’s WHAT??? Or you don’t know???? I cannot imagine being around friends like that
I've noticed he will completely disregard any topic that is beyond his scope of interest/ knowledge. He's never had a tumblr so to him, it's not social media.
He literally says he thinks social media is “when you have a profile with your name and picture that you post things on.” That’s reddit and tumblr hahaha no hate but he contradicts himself
Trust me, totally agreed with the job linkedin/resume BS. However, as someone who is searching for a job right now, it's necessary. It is WILD and I never feel like my real self. I think we're just past the point of humans wanting to hire real people. It is corporate insanity. More often than not I get weeded out by HR before ever getting a chance to speak to a real person. I think I could land a ton of jobs if I could just talk to someone first and they can see I'm competent beyond a piece of paper.
I have never created a single tiktok, but I have quite a few tiktok comments that have tens of thousands of likes and I’m not gonna lie- that shit is VALIDATING 😂
I love listening to the pod when commuting to/from work! So Matt, For the listeners (me) it is funny, and flows so well. Don’t be too hard on yourself😂
I would LOVE a politics episode. I think a lot of us would. If people disagree with your political views and they can’t handle you talking about it, they probably shouldn’t be watching anyways. You guys can make anything funny! Do it
Carly I totally agree I keep Facebook for the groups alone lol. Here are some of my favorite groups I’m in: SCANDALNAVIA!, PEOPLE AGAINST MODERN FARMHOUSE, IM HIGH AND THIS IS TRUE CRIME, MY NEWEST KINK IS WATCHING RACISTS LOSE THEIR JOBS FOR SHIT THEY SAY ONLINE
When Matt says he can "break bread" is that because Patricia's family is probably republican.. I don't know this to be truth but like that got REAL uncomfortable. Love the pod, just surprised at how it ended...
I'm an HR consultant who does a lot of recruiting and I can agree with the whole LinkedIn segment- y'all chat GPT should not be used to write your profile. We know, and we are scrolling past ya on to the next.
Kibble will make your cat more plump I thought it was the wet food that did it forever too! But giving them majority wet food is risking their dental health. Not to tell you what to do just some info. Love y’all ❤️
i’ve heard the opposite! that wet food is better for their teeth than dry, and that it’s a myth that dry food is good for teeth cleaning now i’m curious to know which one is the truth 😂
I think it was more of just trying to give advice, since that's what they were talking about. Trying to improve on their conversational methods & tips while talking on the phone with someone. I believe that people really just don't talk on the phone that much anymore, so in turn, a lot of the nuances have been lost along the way and are left to be rediscovered. Especially with the younger generations, that is probably a majority of their audience. There's always a chance to learn, even if it's common sense to others
@bviva2577 looks like you can't even take the time to read or comprehend what I just said or even just listen to the podcast you're commenting on, so nvm. Not wasting my time on someone so small-minded.
Laughing at Carly’s story. I had an ex where it ended fine but we cut ties except on LinkedIn and I viewed his profile one day. I didn’t know it tells them so he quickly deleted me after 😂 we’re both happily married so I found it hilarious.
I recently watched that Gunther doc which lead me to a true crime pod cast that had the survivor of the real life dirty John case share that she once cat and dog sat for a v famous YT with a ukulele ::: two worlds colliding :::::
Sure, you can choose to not want to be around somebody because of differing opinions. However, I agree with Matt, I’m not gonna dedicate my life harping on other people’s stances/beliefs simply because they don’t align with mines. It bothers me that whenever somebody says something that Erin doesn’t agree with (even when she usually has opinions rather than facts to back her up) she instantly goes at the person trying to change their minds, but then goes “no, you don’t have to take it back”. 🤨 I wouldn’t mind a politics episode as long as EVERYONE gets to say what they want to say and LISTEN to what others say regardless if they agree or not!
