I appreciate that the sequel looks nicer, graphically. But art style wise I'm hoping the third game returns to the grittier horror look of the original

Playing as an medic in KF2 was honestly so much fun Specially when you reached level 25 and you payed attention to your team I could heal people on the verge of death and give them 100% health in one second in quick succession, healing the entire team, and i could still be the guy who killed the most enemies

i have played both games for a while and the biggest thing standing out for me is their map design, its just overall eerier when needed. also the weapons are very creative, its nice to see this game getting the attention it deserved, and still deserves.

Even now in 2024, I still feel like KF1's insanely high skill ceiling in Hell on Earth and KF2's pacing give them both very high replay value. I can still vividly recall LAN nights where my team would get wiped by a fleshpound that my level 4 demo failed to call out. I can still find KF2 matches with random pubs to this day, where we can easily jump between serious tryhard mode and "lets fuck around and find out" builds. I believe that, even while Tripwire kinda stopped caring about KF2 after about 2019, they gave us a DAMNED GOOD game, in Killing Floor 2. With something like 1200 hours in KF1 and over 3000 hours between two accounts in KF2, I am wholeheartedly excited for Killing Floor 3. I just hope they bring back Shadow Ferrret. And of course, Mr Foster.

The original Killing Floor was my fallback game for the longest time, built up a lot of playtime as a result, eventually KF2 came out & I fully expected to put another 2K+ hours into the franchise, except.. KF2 fell soo flat for me I never even hit triple digit playtime. I quit the moment they added loot boxes & FOMO. Hopefully that doesn't happen with KF3 & hopefully they keep closer to the KF1 horror atmosphere vibe. Killing Floor 1 was one of my favorite games in 2011-2013 I remember especially of being scared to play bedlam, and biotics lab by myself. SSoHPKC was also my go to for daily uploads. I miss those summer days chilling inside with the AC

I got 500 hours deep in this game before I maxed out all the perks and had my fun with it. Still one of my all time favorites and most played steam games. Time to jump in again for nostalgia's sake.

Played this series since 2011, and while I enjoy KF2 for what it is, there's just something about the classic first game that has me hooked, even now 12 years later. And while I don't play the game as often anymore, I still have it as a weird Christmas tradition to play at LEAST one match per Christmas on hard difficulty or higher (don't ask, it's a long story 😂). It is also the only shooter I actually play, as I usually tend to shy away from them. Killing Floor 1 just broke through that dislike and has become one of my faourite games, and certainly the one with the most memories, good and bad 😀

This game is a masterpiece and aged so well (except the enemies spawns), the gunplay, the enemy variation, the weapons animations, the maps, shame it doesnt get the attention while COD Zombies get it, i'm pretty sure Zombies was inspired by KF.

Berserker is easily my favorite perk in the game. Nothing more satisfying than lopping off heads with a claymore as the Zed time flips on. Over 600 hours logged on this game since I bought it back in 2011 for $2.50! I cannot recommend it enough.

I'm so happy someone covers this game, I still go back to it from time to time. the gameplay is unforgiving, the aesthetics are satisfyingly grotesque, and the soundtrack is just so good. absolutely a masterpiece

I heard about Killing Floor during 2011 (iirc) whilst I was in High School from SSOHPKC who done loads of videos on the game, so after watching a few videos from his channel I bought the game very soon after and I played KF1 on my laptop and computer for hours on in every weekend and sometimes on the weekdays…if I was allowed to due to having school lol.

God i LOVED playing this when i was a teenager with my friends, some of the most fun i've had playing a co-op zombie survival shooter. I still play Killing Floor 2 and went back to play a little of 1 recently.

If you still play it, try it with the SCRN mod which can also include doom monsters. The modding scene for it was quite robust and includes overhauled UIs, new weapons, 3 new classes and new ZEDs as well. It ups the fun quite a bit, goes into the slightly imbalanced territory while still retaining all the elements that make it satisfying.

Man, good times this game was. The music is probably the most kickass I've ever heard. Abandon All is a classic (zYnthetic did an amazing job). But others like Bled Dry or Containment Breach are absolute bangers. Only criticism I have of the game is the grind of the perks....it takes...a lot of kills to level up and it matters, since leveling up makes a perk stronger. Anyway, I might want to reinstall KF1 rn and mangle a hoard of zeds.

still some of the most incredibly creative and fun custom maps ever! many LANs driving my friend's parents crazy with us screaming over this game. this and day of defeat are absolute classics for the mod communities alone imo.

got kf2 on sale and I'm having so much fun with all the nonstop action. I get to play on low ping too unlike every other multiplayer game there is so that's a plus for me idk the meta but I'm mainly using firebug, berserker, and survivalist (idr the name)

one of my favourite things about killing floor 1 is how everyone and everything hits like a freight train. sure you can die in 5 seconds to a fleshpound but you can wipe him out just as quickly. also i'm 1 of the 5 field medic mains (we are mentally unstable) sadly with how they fucked up killing floor 2 over the years, i don't have high hopes for the 3rd game (though i really do want to see it succeed)

I remember playing killing floor 1 back when kf2 was new and didn't have any buyable crap, its sad to see that they couldn't follow through with the second game having no bought content to make up for the first one having 100+ stuff

A friend gave me the first game and I love it so much, my favorite perk is field medic, so much is the only class I have higher than level 3, being level 5, almost 6

Yeah, first KF was really good, but lvling up medic is pain in the arse. I remember how more expirienced players jumped from high places and ran past me or another medic for heals to do it again. Yeah, exp only for the healing is harsh but resistance buffs you get from lvlup is pretty good, to the point you become a wall between fp/scrake and your more squishy teammates.

8:20 While I love KF1, KF2 turns the Zed Time up to 11, especially when it comes to anything that fires in full auto.The detail they put into the weapons during slow motion is just beyond satisfying and how you can see whatever Zed is infront of you get shredded to pieces in even more brutal detail than KF1. 10/10 gun play.

9:40 Another strong aspect of Field Medic lies in carry weight and "Off-perking" the weapons. A major mechanic of this game is that even though the "perks" act sort of like classes, they aren't RESTRICTED to just one category of gun. You can purchase any firearm or melee weapon in the game as any perk. It's just that you get monetary discounts and stat boosts for the weapons in your perk's category, so you're most likely to stick to your own category of weapons to be as effective as you can in doing your job. On top of that, every gun in this game has carry weight, so if you complete the meta "Kit" for your class, you won't have much room for anything else. This combination of mechanics means that most players will naturally stay within their perk's respective category for building their loadout, but it isn't mandatory, and sometimes it's not even meta! For instance, most Berzerkers carry not just melee weapons, but also either a handcannon or lever action rifle as a secondary weapon to deal with husks or crawlers without needing to get close. Field Medic gets a big boon here because his SMGs are very lightweight relative to all the other weapons in the game, mostly weighing only 3 kg each. For reference, you only have 14 kg of weight to put purchased weapons in (it says 15 kg in the corner, but the starter equipment that you can't get rid of actually weighs 1 kg), and most primary weapons for most perks will weigh anywhere between 6 kg and 10 kg (and many perks have to carry two of these to be effective!). Medic also has a higher movement speed than most other perks (only slightly slower than berzerker holding a melee weapon) and a larger amount of self heal with his syringe, so he can pull off some tricks and escape some nasty scenarios that would get other perks killed. The straightforward strat that most new players gravitate to is to fill your Medic' inventory with 3 medic SMGs and the 1 medic rifle, all of which have underbarrel syringe launchers with their own independent cooldowns, and then you can just spam syringes all day like there's no tomorrow to heal your team constantly. The thing is, if your team is doing good, it's very rare to need this high amount of burst healing, and even if you do you can get the burst healing with just the healing grenades. So, more experienced players will produce "hybrid" builds where they carry just one healing SMG and pair it with a powerful weapon usually used by a different perk. For instance, the crossbow is most powerful on Sharpshooter because of his boosted headshot damage with it. However, even on Field Medic, who has no damage boost with it, it's still juuuust powerful enough to stun a scrake for several seconds on hitting a headshot (which is more than enough time to reload and shoot the scrake again, or heal a teammate, or just wail on it with some teammates). So, some medics will pair it with an SMG and just like that, they've got a build that can stun scrakes with the crossbow, clean up crowds with the SMG, and heal teammates well. Some might also use the M79 grenade launcher to clear crowds at a distance, or the Katana to constantly kill common zeds without having to reload, or the lever action to deal with medium sized zeds well. Many of these weapons aren't flexible on most other classes in the game because they're either too heavy or rely on their respective classes inate perks, but Medic often has the carry space for these if he has only one healing SMG, and his unique movement speed and self heal abilities can allow him to shrug off the downsides of not being perfectly specialized for all of the weapons he carries. To an inexperienced player's eyes, the field medic is just a support class. To the eyes of a seasoned veteran, the Field Medic is more like a sandbox mode or a new game plus, allowing you to not just support your team but also dip your toes into other classes by exploiting a few unique circumstances and stat boosts of field medic that other classes don't always get. His lack of skill with almost any general weapon means he isn't as good as the other perks, but it also means he isn't too obligated to just one weapon category or playstyle, and his good self-heal and high movement speed combined with his passable crowd clear via his light weight SMGs actually free him quite a bit to adapt to a wide variety of situations. He can use his kit to heal his team when they're doing well, create opportunities for his team to capitalize on with some good stuns, or he can use his stats to clutch a round and survive when his team falls apart, and he often can accomplish both with the same build if built right.

I don't have a ton of hours in it but I've enjoyed it here and there both with rando's and Solo. Killing floor, along with tf2, were the first games I ever played on PC. It will always have a special place in my heart, and its aesthetic has a prominent impact on my personal tastes. To this day I still sometimes refer to money as "dosh" and I don't care if nobody understands.

The Medic has a movement speed bonus and is the best class for solo play because you can outrun Fleshpounds

the game is nearly as old as i am, and its still my go to shooter game. it really kinda sucks people nowadays dont know about its existence or how much of a blast it is. its honestly more fun than alot of the modern games you see on steam, xbox, playstation, what have you.

Always love to hop in killing floor 1 modded servers due to the increased variety of mobs like the brute, which is a total menace sometimes due to them blocking their heads and pushing you off in a unfavorable position

Me and my friends used to cheese the boss fight by just emptying our money with pipebombs and lay them all there outside the trader and just bait the boss but the hilarity goes in 2 ways. One would be we successfully bait the boss to step in all the pipebombs and kill him and the other the boss fires his rocket at us and the rocket's splash damage triggers all the pipe bombs creating a big fuck off explosion that would kill us all which results in tears of laughter from us lmao

I played this yesterday for some nostalgia and it wouldn’t support my monitor resolution and despite being on good hardware, it didn’t run great. Was really sad because I was looking forward to it.
