Nahhh let me tell you I’m on Genesis chapter 25 and let me tell you THE BIBLE IS JUICY OMG Genesis was a drag for me trust lol it’s not an easy read I would say but trust me some of my favorite stories and lesson take aways is definitely in this book. I am excited to push through and finish!!

Lol ha this is what I just commented! I do a study here on YT call Cookies & Christ where my friend and I go through the Bible in chronological order and we chat as friends about what we studied. We just finished Genesis and are now on Job! Genesis was a whole roller-coaster ride lol. Job is the same. I am loving Job!

Miss GCH Also, I'm not sure if this is what Zach attended but a lot of time when you first start to read the Bible people will suggest that you read The New Testament first (b/c we are under the New Covenant now) and particularly the Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), because that is where Jesus is first mentioned by name. Once you start to read the NT you will notice the writers quoted from the OT a lot, especially Paul. So, in Matt. 5-6 Jesus is mentioning what The Law (Ten Commandments) says about certain issues (murder, divorce, adultery, etc) and like the young lady said giving more detail, because the underlying message that Jesus was giving was peace and love among each other. Whereas in the OT God wanted the Israels to be separated for other nations as his holy people, in the NT Christ came to make peace (by fulfilling the Law and dying for us) between God and man and between each other. I hope that made sense. I hope your studying is still going strong. #newstubbie

Miss GCH so I know I’m months behind this review, but when I looked at the preview and just going through some of the questions quickly, I was confused by that too. But then after a quick study, I realized he wasn’t saying the whole book of Matthew 5 specifically expounded on each of the 10 commandments, but that Jesus does talk about the law in Matthew 5:17. I think that’s what the question was referencing-based on what Jesus says about the 10 commandments (the law) in Matthew 5:17, how can you look at each of [the 10 commandments] through the lens of the New Testament? And what does Jesus say about the law in Matthew 5 verse 17? That He came to fulfill the law, not abolish it. So in that context, you should look at the 10 commandments and see that they still apply and are fulfilled through the person of Jesus. And like the commenter said above, through some of the examples that Jesus used in his sermon on the mount, He shows the law has not been abolished. But for this particular question, it seems it would help to have a study Bible and cross references to see how each of those commandments are shown in the NT. But I love how you bring up those questions that aren’t very clear! I’m just starting to look at this study because like many people on here, it’s been brought up on my SM a ton and I’ve been looking for a personal study, and also a study to go through with a new Christian in my church. I’m just wanting to really look at the content though and make sure it is biblically sound, since I can’t find much on this author. Thanks for this review!

They have the NLT version and a few other versions of the Bible that are voice recording. So listening to Leviticus while reading along in your bible or on the app will definitely help keep you focused. I hope this helps! ☺️

Yes definitely! It's a little more seamless in the early books. Once you get to Leviticus and Numbers, the questions seem to assume that you've read the whole chapter. I just skipped those and answered them when I could or at the end.

@@HelloGabey Exactly. I just read and answer what I can. I have the Joyce Meyer bible but I am using an NLT life application bible which I think with all the commentary on top of Zach's notes makes it even better. So I like how you mention you used a study bible instead of a basic bible. When I review I will recommend people use a study bible too. I understand Zach can't cover everything because his bible study workbook would be endless so it's good to have more than just his commentary. The only downside is that using my study bible makes me read longer because I'm reading the scripture AND the commentary. LOL!
