Hello. Engaging with the text in detail is important if you want to be creative while answering questions in the examination. Answers have to be specific to the questions, so they must be properly understood. Using your own language rather than the language of the story/prose would catch the attention of the examiner. Simple, carefully structured sentences would ensure cohesion in your answers. Just as learning is better when you do it with feeling, scoring in the exam is better when you read each text in such a way that you connect with the ideas expressed through words. All the best!
