This limited series stars André Holland as Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton, and is executive produced by NAACP Image Award winner Janine Sherman Barrois, Jim Hecht, and Joshuah Bearman, with the first two episodes directed and executive produced by multi-award winner Don Cheadle. The six-episode drama chronicles the story of Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton’s escape to Cuba, and is based on the monumental, eponymous magazine article of the same name.

I keep hearing negative reviews on this and i am not sure why. It was well scripted, black produced and directed. I was in this film and thought nothing but greatness about it. I guess people just enjoy to be negative.

I dont think it's that, its we are tired of holly wood benefiting the most from our ancestors lives!!!! & what does it change for our people, moving forward. Just another one our stories they capitalize on. Do they give some of the proceeds to our communities, NEVER!! I'm happy to see that through this movie they are preserving Huey Newton's legacy. However, the actor whose portraying Huey is not a good fit. I'm sure he's an excellent actor, but he does not remind me of Newton. Roger Guenveur Smith, is the best actor to date to portray Huey Newton. Check out the play "A Huey Newton Story."
