Even if Arsenal manage to take points off City in games between the two of them, it means nothing if they can’t cut out dropping silly points. Klopp often got the better of Pep and ended up only winning 1 against him. Pretty moot point imo.
Pressures still there, should be winning it all with that amount of singings, that wage bill and that transfer spend, written off cos you are run by the smartest bunch of idiots around.
If I remember right, Rodri wasn't an instant hit at city, he took time to adapt. It's entirely possible that Gravenberch gets made into the 6 for Liverpool, seeing as there's already a lot of competition for the more advanced midfield roles
Fits the narrative doesn’t it. They list out all the excuses to why we’ll struggle this year, but I guarantee you they won’t be saying “Give Maresca time” they’ll be coming for his head, despite telling us he’s got the hardest job in the world
Nieve has a balanced and informed opinion. She wasn't misled by some of the leading questions. Maybe Arsenal will finally catch City but what would they do if Declan Rice or Saliba gets injured? Wait until the transfer window closes because Gundogan coming back is a great transfer and Kyogo an astute signing.
I mean it is Man U, on expected points they were 15th last year. I like their signings (most of all Zirkzee and De Ligt) but the midfield is just average. Football is all about the midfield, would suprise me if they get in the top 8
@@TeenierGraph2 They don't, they play for a side that was lucky to be 8th last year An average manager and the midtable-lowertable teams have strengthened big time would suprise me I wouldn't say that Brightons squad is that much worse then Uniteds for example
They might do better or not but a new manager every year and a whole new squad of players added to an already inflated team will hardly do the trick. Chelsea is anything but a healthy football club and the only reason they weren't a complete embarrassment last season was Cole Palmer.
@@sbeeezzalright Sal calm your tits he’s clearly just talking football ennit if you think he’s rambling on why not listen to pitch side instead you’d like that 😘
The problem for Chelsea going forward, because Boehly has put them on a buy and sell model they will never really be settled from one season to the next. They will have to sell to not get into trouble with PSR, but this will mean squad turnover again. Their plan seems to be volume so the more you buy the more likely one or two will make you lots of money, so there won't ever really be time to settle on a squad and build, because they will need to sell. And then they need to buy to replace those players for next seasons PSR...and repeat and repeat.
Lot of wills and thens. You do not understand anything yet want to have an opinion based on your own myopic fiction. Chelsea is fine under Boehly, calm your tits
id be very surprised if any team in the prem had a worse injury record than us at united. Most matches had around 10 players injured. Very rare to be under 10 for the whole season.
If we are talking about minutes missed and the Impact on the first team Newcastle and United were impacted way more than Chelsea I’d even say Brighton, Brentford, Villa and Spurs had worse injury issues too. You only had more players injured because you have about 40 players in your squad half of those injured players probably weren’t going to even play anyway.
I disagree with injuries having less impact on Chelsea compared to other teams. Fofana didn't play a minute, Lavia played 32 minutes, Nkunku & James missed most of the season. All big names and I'm sure they would have played most matches if thry were fit
@@athishujmao2654 You named 4 players only 2 of which I think would definitely start the other 2 have potential but I don't think they should or would have started.
The problem with Chelsea is that it is easier to see what they are trying to do in a business sense than what they are trying to achieve on the football pitch.
100m caceido and enzo as well as other payments near those margins. It's not all profit there are contributions to what we want to do on the field as well
Nieve spot on. Dougie saying Arsenal are more settled than City makes just about zero sense. Lots of hopeful thinking that Arsenal are overtaking City without and facts to point to. Nieve rightly called that point out
He literally named all his reasons and they are pretty logical on paper. Nieve and a lot of people belong to a specific group of fans that think City will keep winning titles until the end of the solar system just because they "did it last year". That's not how football works.
@@FrozenArcherhe said Arsenal are a more settled side - how's that? City lost Alvarez but return everyone else plus Savio. City's core group of players have been together longer than Arsenals and have experience getting over the line. Yes you can't guarantee future success by past success but experience matters quite a bit. Pep has lost 2 titles since he's been in England so the odds suggest he's more likely to win it than not. Honestly for all the reasons Dougie mentioned last season was the chance to take over City with Haaland underperforming in terms of chances missed and KDB out for the majority.
@@zachm79 city selling a player, having a few of their big stars (kdb, ederson) linked with moves away, players aging and getting towards the end of their contract, guardiola with 1 year left on his contract, 115 charges finally happening this year. On the other hand, we knew since the end of the last game of last season that that arsenal group would continue as it is with a year more experience, hunger and desire to just win this title. Every reason he listed is perfectly logical on paper.
@@FrozenArcherselling one player who doesn't start in the big games when everyone is fit doesn't create uncertainty. KDB has made it clear he's staying. Players "almost leaving" according to the social media rumor mill doesn't mean the squad is less settled. If you want to point at "hunger" then you also have to point at experience getting over the line winning titles as well. Intangible factors matter both directions. There is nothing about Arsenal that is more settled than City. Pep and the core of City have been at the club longer that Arteta and his core. "The more settled side" isn't the argument to make in favor of Arsenal any way you slice it
@@zachm79 Alvarez had more appearances than haaland last season, don't do that. You just don't want to see it, it's okay. All those reasons remain though.
Why are people underestiuing us just because klopp has left and slot has taken over were still the same club klopp left us in a good place. And we're not like man u when they lost sir Alex and ten hag came in he had to revamp tye whole squad united back then was a mess from back to front, where as klopp left slot with a balance squad i can't wait for us to finish 1st or 3rd and prove people wrong.
Best case scenario you finish 3rd behind City and Assenal, worst case i could see you falling to maybe 5th at worst. The real fear is 1,2,3 years down the line after Klopp what does a modern Liverpool look like?
@@sugargay7168 true your not wrong vvd and salah will leave next season Trent will stay and bring in a new center back and winger and maybe a number 6. Where do you expect your team to finish this season.
Just give Nieve her own show with a Joe Devine style host bouncing questions off of her, you’ll get more knowledge and better ratings than all the RU-vidr nonsense
Everyone in this comment section thinking their team will be better than what’s predicted is the sky sports comment section I expected. They’re absolutely fine predictions

I think wolves will be fine, Rodrigo Gomes look excellent, Jorgen Strand Larsen is looking good, and Pedro Lima is excellent. We have Podence back at the moment and Guedes and alot of players linked, Matt Hobbs recruitment has been near perfect since he took over and he does not pay over the odds so we have walked away from deals and do alot of low entry bids, I am sure we will make some good signings as the window winds down and prices drop (Wissa currently heavily linked)
I agree but when you have to pick 3 "big" clubs I would say its Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool are the candidates that 'could' flop. No transfer business is a bit of a concern for you surely?
@@TonyShneak why? the only fear around the squad is the lack of a ball playing 6 and the fact a lot of the big boys are nearing the end of their contracts
Need to start holding some of these content creators to account about the false info - Where on earth has he gotten 50+ players in Chelseas squad from? Even the highly inflated figures that include youth players only go as high as 43 so where has he pulled this from
Not one of your best gents, most subjects pretty obvious and stuntpegg is great and I feel you had the old football daily opportunity to throw in something mainstream aren’t discussing, ie best of the rest
Sorry guys, but you need to get your share of speech straight. McCubbin and Dougie are rambling on for ever and ever. And Nieve, who is is every bit as knowledgeable as the boys, ends up with an estimated share of speech of 10 percent or so. Why? BC she's more humble and is way more on point with her analysis and is not pushing herself forward. This is a job for you guys as presenters and anchors. The scrutcure of males talking like there's no tomorrow and ignoring and neglecting women is so well known, you should have this in your radar.
Its not McCubbs or Dougie’s job to make Nieve more assertive. Shes annoyingly passive. She needs to step in and speak more and quit acting like a beat puppy
Not necessarily. Some teams can find themselves on the right side of good luck and fortunate circumstance, but not really be the 'best' team. Just means they rode a wave of some good fortune(ie. being less injured, getting favorable decisions go their way, etc) Say Man City suffered catastrophic injuries in the last month of the season, after having led the entire time, and got passed by Arsenal, for example. Does that mean Arsenal are all a sudden the 'better' side? @jonnyriz
@@smichaelb1980 Squad depth is all part of it and part of being the best team is having the best squad regardless of injuries. VAR decisions etc. largely even themselves out over a whole season too. Like I say, the best team, or squad if you prefer, always wins the league. Cups are different I grant you but not the league.
@@jonnyrizz the difference was 2 points, it was just 50-50 at the end. So yes, the best team may have come 2nd. Some teams especially towards the end of the season were opening their legs for City, the greatest example being Villa. Also, bring me an example of a City VAR controversy, I can bring you a lot of Arsenal's.
When will people learn to stop writing Liverpool off, they do it every season. They weren’t supposed to finish top 4 last season, ended up being in the title race for most of the season finishing 3rd. Only 1 position in the team where there isn’t a top player for the position. They want Liverpool to be sh*t so bad. 💀
Plus they would've been in the title race for longer if the Diaz offside goal or Doku's Kung Fu kick to MacAllister's chest would've been given, but that's Premier League refs 🤷
Not a fan, but will not deny how Liverpool does their business on and off the pitch. More than half of the teams in the PL would take Liverpool’s current status over their own.
Stinker of a take on Arsenal over City. Arteta hasn't even brought it down to the wire in any competition yet they'll magically get it over the line out of nowhere. Silly
Yeah that was my bad thought it was 4/5 they missed out on. Regardless my point still stands, they cant get it over the line while focusing on one comp they dont have the bottle. @James-qv1dr
Some of the worst takes of "punditry" ive ever listened too, Fulham to finish in bottom 5 when they have strengthened as well as they have lost. Perfectly fitting choice of name for the programme because if this had a rating it would be "LOWDOWN"
Really poor take on Chelsea. Every time same thing and not looking at it from different angle. See how other clubs are copying Chelsea like selling academy players to make ends meet like Liverpool. And we.have the best front 4 and best 3 midfield. But all these so called experts just are jealous
Does the lady know any football? 24:45 'How is Arsenal on upward trajectory?' You can easily figure that out by looking at their points tally for last 3-4 season. 28:49 'but Man united were very unfortunate with injuries last season' The same was the case for Spurs. Romero, Van De ven, Bentancur, Maddison, Bissouma etc were injured for significant length of time.
She wasn’t being cheeky I don’t think, I think she was just genuinely asking, she’s really knowledgeable on the game, she might’ve just not watched as many Arsenal games last season
Nieve here (on my back up account). I did word that badly, I was responding to Michael saying the upwards trajectory edges them above City, I wondered what made that upwards trajectory take them beyond City. It was a genuine question as opposed to trying to argue any sort of point.
Pochettino was horrendous for a majority of the season until 6 weeks before the end of the season with his outdated tactics to make it worse built an entire system around one player Nkunku who got injured and I am glad he is gone and I rate Enzo Maresca highly to be honest...
Im sorry but I can't listen to this guy, he just goes on a ramble and speaks for 5 minutes straight all the while he's stuttering and saying 'you know' every other sentence
28:53 sorry but Manchester United don't have a team anywhere near as good as Spurs .. that Man Utd team is the most bang average team in United history half of them are from the Dutch league that's like 1 below the championship.. United are going to be shocking this season keep watching
@@scottstorm7765 win what 😂 Coventry even beat you in the fa cup last season fair and square.. shouldn't have even been in the final United are awful.. bang average players
Neves take on Spurs is mental. The point on injuries is rubbish. Spurs lost Maddison, Van de Ven, Romero, Udogie, Bentancur, Bissouma and Richarlison within 3 game weeks and they all didn't return until January. Then they lost Bissouma, Saar and Son to internationals for a month in Jan/Feb. Spurs did not manage to have any sort of continuity after the Chelsea away game. United were terrible the whole season since the opening day against Wolves when they didn't have huge amounts of injuries. The glazing of Man United for this season is crazy to me. Did we watch the same season last year? United are not going to finish in the Top 4 this year. Spurs' midfield is far superior to United's an if United don't bring in a mobile 6 and a game-controlling 8 that can actually pass progressively, I see them finishing 6th or 7th. You cannot rely on a player with 70% pass accuracy to be your game controller in Bruno. Let's be serious here.
Funny how he says mancity will fail because they didnt Ad Players just to Name the Same Players Arsenal had 3 months ago 1 Minute Lager as the reason Why they gonna win the league is the funniest thing 💀💀
