I just put them in a warm sink of water with some mild dish soap swish around and rinse well and shake out and lay on a dry towel flip over every 3 or 4 hours.

I have never been able to successfully clean a beaded bag and I have tried many times. Depending on the age the threading holding the beads tends to dose integrate some and loosen and sometimes I’ve lost strings of beads. I just started selling them as is and let the buyers deal with the cleaning.

B Vintage that’s a good idea! The purses aren’t that terribly dirty, so I may just leave them alone. I’d hate to ruin them!

Hi Tam! I use cascade powder soap, the kind in the green box for all my vintage staining issues.... I use 2 parts water 1 part soap and leave everything soaking until the stain lifts, sometimes even a few days. I especially like this method for my velour items!! There’s also a pink Hispanic soap called Vel Rosita and it’s called “laundry shampoo” - it’s very mild and a long soak could help!

I worked at a dry cleaners for a while and they would use the handheld part of the steamer dry cleaner machine to take out the stains on a purse like that. I have a Toby one at home and it is GREAT!!!! Just make sure if you have a steamer NOT to do a full blast. Very Gentle. You'll be amazed at the things you can clean and disinfect. HUGS!!!!

I got a good little laugh at you & the Jay Birds. A couple of times this year they've chased off the doves in my yard, 1st time the doves were nesting. (ruined that). But I found a trick that chases them away for a good while. I have an old wooden screen back door, it makes a loud slap sound when closed. 1 slap makes them quiet, 1 or 2 more makes them fly away. I guess they think I'm shooting at them. :-)

I think some of the purses are from the 40's and 50's I have some purses that my Mother-in-law left and they are very much like the ones you have. I'll send a pic when I find out where I put them. Lol.

Hiya Tam, loads of goodies, SCORE on the Sonic figures! The 1st handbag is from the 60s, 2nd from the 50s, the rest looked like possibly late 60s- early 70s as I had ones like that back then & still have far too many handbags. Wait, no you can’t have too many, right😉? If I get ambitious I’ll have a look through & see if I can find any w/ a brand like that lovely last one (oops, that might be older, hard to tell from the vid). I hope that helped! Jet (who might brave the pool, 🙏🏼the chlorine isn’t too irritating😳) 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

Tam's Place - Any time Tam, I love vintage & have so much I’ve collected or sold over the years it’s easy for me w/ clothing & accessories (let’s not *ever* forget shoes 😋 oh yes can’t have too many shoes either😉). It’s the ceramic, glass stuff I forget too often! Didn’t get ambitious, hubby worked so late & went straight to bed so I didn’t want to disturb him. Promise I’ll look 👀ll XXX J. 😘🧡😻😻

Yes, they can be very assertive, even aggressive. But, personally, I still like them. When I was young, my family, but mostly my brother, raised a blue jay that had fallen out of his nest. It was a fun experience. Maybe, they’ll be better behaved next time! 🤗
