Bro I’m a fan of yours, and this is my second time seeing you in the comment section of one of my favorite RU-vid channels. I’ve seen you here and in the H3 comment section, good to know we have similar taste 😂
Pro blisterman here. Moleskin not on top of the blister, but around it-keeping pressure off the hotspot. Build up a lil mound around it with a few layers. I also like to secure additionally with a wrap of (lightly) wound medical tape so it doesn’t sweat off. If it’s already bubbled and holding fluid medical advice would say not to puncture it because you’re opening yourself to infection. But. Taking that pressure off gives you room back in the shoe and allows you to build moleskin around it. And it’s likely gonna pop on itself anyway if you’re still moving.
I unironically love the food channel interludes in these videos. It scratches the same itch as the old school haul vids that my 12 year old brain was obsessed with. And obviously nutrition is so important to working out
Not sure if you’ve done this before, but you should definitely do a video about the gear you use for marathons, hikes, UMs, etc. It might be useful to new runners like myself.
Thanks for the motivation Cody, i just ran 5 miles for the first time in my life and I feel great! I wouldn’t have been able to do it without your motivation. Here’s to many more miles! 😁👍🏻
Cody, yesterday on 5/5 I finally ran my marathon! Took me 4,5 hours and it was one of the most difficult things I’ve done, cried multiple times during, but I did it nonetheless! Thank you for all the inspiration leading up to it, and dog bless, you’re a good dude, Kelsey’s husband. Choo choo
Wrap your toes and heels in silver wool for blisters. You can get it online. The silver is anti bacterial. I used this as a dancer and it worked like a charm. Choo choo!!
Props to Matt for doing a hike much longer than he thought he was signing up for - great mate there! I’m finding my morning gym sessions are giving me arvo munchies, and am struggling not to stuff myself silly!!! But battling my eating habits I will continue on.
These are so inspirational. I was in great shape pre-COVID but got in a lovely relationship (which I wouldnt trade for anything) and traded the good and healthy habits for not the best food and exercise routine. Have been getting back into fitness and watch these during warmups or cool downs. Thank you ❤
Hey Cody, I’ve been loving watching better yourself and progress every week, you’ve really inspired me to start taking care of my body and mind again. I used to be a beach lifeguard and I was very fit but some things happened in my life a few years ago, it caused me to abandon all my hobbies and neglect to take care of myself. I went on my first run today because of your videos it sucked and was really hard but I feel so much happier for taking this first step. I’ve also signed up for a half marathon in October thankyou for inspiring me to push myself and to try hard to slowly improve my physical and mental health. CHOO CHOO ❤
Cody! I got back into running this year, and I'm training for my first half marathon. I fell off on running after my high school cross country days and this channel has really motivated me to get back into shape and get excited to train for something again. Thanks so much for your content! You and Kelsey are my favs.
When I was running 40 miles a week, I dealt with blisters constantly. I found that thick socks help, along with fabric bandaids (layer them bitches up). The rubber-like bandages that kinda look like pimple patches also help a lot, especially if you put the fabric bandaids over it. I know 3-4 bandaids is a lot but it works lol
I ran my first half marathon two days ago and absolutely loved it! My knees feel like I've aged 40 years but I already want to do another :))) thanks for the inspiration
Hey Cody, I just wanted to say thanks for bringing this channel back! It's been super motivating for me ever since I started couch to 5k, and I'm happy to say that i've just completed my first half marathon. I really appreciate the honesty, laughs, and motivation you give out. Keep rocking it!
Look for those Dr Scholls Blister Cushion bandaids. They help heal your blisters super fast. I wore those and then put a regular bandaid on top. It really helped me
Fellow blister-recipient with what’s helped me: 1. socks with merino wool! I like the brand Ice Breaker; wool sounds counterintuitive in the heat but trust me on this one 2. soaking the dawgs in an epsom salt bath post-hike. Stings like a bitch but makes a heck of a difference the next day with both muscle soreness from compensating pressure points as well as skin healing
I love my merino wool socks, all I wear anymore, cycling, running, hiking in the Los Angeles heat. Keep me dry, temperature regulating, totally frictionless.
Blister tip! I like to use packing tape or smooth slippery tape on top of my bandaid. The tape keeps things frictionless and nothing tugs at the blistered skin.
Cody!! Thank you so much. You helped me during my walk today, yall are so entertaining!! I’m definitely finding motivation to get active and more healthy in my life. I appreciate you brother my short king! 🎉🎉🎉
There are patches for blisters. In my opinion the best brand in Germany is compeed. Just feels like a second skin and won‘t hurt while running. DON‘T PEEL IT OFF, otherwise your skin goed with it. Just wait until it comes off naturally by showering etc.
CODY, WRAP EACH TOE AND HEELS IN SELF ADHESIVE BANDAGE TAPE OR KT TAPE!!! I used to get severe blisters, lose every toenail! Ran 84 miles with wrapped toes and didn't get any blisters!!!
Hi Kody! I'm from clag as well ! I get blisters so bad all the time. You can go to an outdoor store and get blister socks that go under your regular socks and you'll never get blisters again. They basically just cover over your ankle area.
Cody, I’m not sure if you’ll read this but you inspired me to start running again! I have loved watching your fitness journey since Ironman. I was able to work up to 3 miles with only one quick walk break! Unfortunately, I developed a nerve issue and had to stop, but I still love watching these videos and seeing your progress. Thank you for taking us with you 🫡
For the blisters: put several layers of liquid bandaid on the spots you get them (let each coat dry)! I do this for long runs when I get blisters on my toes and it helps a ton
Hey Cody, hiked the PCT and Arizona Trail in the last few years. Your best bet for blister care is a thing called Leukotape you buy in a big roll. It sticks like magic through sweat, river crossings, dirt, whatever. It has no padding so if you really want to you can put some moleskin under it, but in my experience it’s best used when you feel a hot spot before you get a blister. Stop just like you did to take care of it and put some Leukotape over it, and that hot spot will have some space to recover from all that friction before a blister happens. Sometimes all prep goes out the window and you gotta just muscle through it, and maybe pop it if you’re okay with the sanitary risk that presents (I’ve always been fine but that’s anecdotal)
I used to get blisters constantly doing ballet. I would use these little gel squares called "spenco 2nd skin squares" and then tape over them w/ medical tape. Putting oragel on them numbs them for a bit too.
I like to use little foam circles that have a sticky side, you can find them in the same area as bandaids and things. it makes sure there's actually no friction OR pressure on the blister! It'll heal much quicker
