leads : mounting pressure on emerging nations like india and china. need to move from carbon based energy to non carbon based India should take up the baton of cleaner energy propogation through ISA we should develop india centric climate data models and indigenization of the cleaner energy infrastucture {solar panels and batteries, storage equipment},move to electric public transport {decreasing emission} people must be educated and encouraged to participate in "waste to wealth" campaigns invest heavily in climate research and lastly reforestration via seed ball technology, greening of barren lands and desert landscapes.
political will should also be made at the global level to tackle this global threat . any one nation(except usa ) can not have a capability to solve this problem
Everyone is just talking, this can be done that can be done, I expect to do something from others for climate but not from myself, we will wear coat in summer season unnecessarily and sit down in AC RSTV studio and let temperature be very cool which will consume more electricity then we will discuss how others should do something for saving environment. Good job
Last alarming bell to the world ... Waiting for such words... Science and politics! 5 things from report 1.excessive investments 2.energy transaction from carbon to renewable 3.Electricn transportation 4.innovation reserach 5.people participation
UPSC knew that IPCC report on 1.5C is coming ahead, so they asked the essay before the report. Last year they asked why India has not been able to send the human in space? See now "GAGANYAN" mission. They asked about Gravitational wave theory and later Nobel prize was given to the same theory. That's how UPSC works and shock aspirants with their future predictions.
The concept of global warming is extremely controversial. Some say that our earth oscillates around periods of cooling and warming naturally. So nothing can be done about it.While others address this issue very seriously. However shifting to green energy is a great step. The five points put forward by CK Varshney sir was amazing.
There are cooling and heating periods, but human activities like deforestation, using fossil fuels, imdustrial pollution, vehicular pollution etc has accelerated the rate of change, faster than humans/flora fauna can adapt to it.
As the IPCC report released.. and the US moves out from the Paris agreement... the main pressure is on China and India to move away from high emission based fossil fuel based economy... to achieve 1.5-degree Celsius but present commitment is not much tight.. sci and technology permit ur to cut the emission but there is a big gap b/w science and politics.. developed countries are not much serious... we need 45% emission removal.. to achieve the target... drought in north india.. flood in kerala.. heat wave in Europe forest fire in California so on and so forth it is difficult to retrieve the situation.. in world over in different form env. is reminding us to save humanity ... The US and China two biggest emitter.. around 45% of carbon emissions..and China further want to increase the emission. and the US removed out.. Canada moved out of Kyoto protocol... Russia Japan Germany missed their targets.... we are facing the alarming situation. Kyoto protocol over and Kyoto protocol two is not ratified... it indicates the Kyoto model is failed... in Paris agreement option is given to the new regime... evolve their own method to decrease carbon emission.. flexibility is given acc to the social situation of their county by problem sharing phenomena... for India specific... we have to highlight the scientific temper to create awareness among people for adopting cleaner energy... govt should installed a mechanism to promote cleaner energy with implementation... Govt must also promote on climate research in India centric... as we are doing some good in the solar alliance... but we have to change the mindset for our future prosperity and sustainable development... our policy needs to be aligned in multiple disciplinary ways to dictate climate change..
Cuba did great on fixing old cars , NOT creating the carbon foot print of buying new. CONVERT ALL COMBUSTION CARS TO E.V'S ONLY, DEEP DRILL FOR GEO-HEAT ENERGY TO MAKE STEAM FOR POWER PLANT GENERATORS, NO MORE BURNING OF OIL GAS OR COAL.
Every individual contribute to climate change, only held responsible to government for everything is stupid things people have to be aware enough to at least clean the environment of their vicinity, by educating their children, even government plays vital role framing policies which would feasible to citizens, involved corporate, NGOs, environmentalist, for transition to energy harnessing by solar, wind, hydro, thermal, and so many other innovative actions involve using bicycle, and electric or clean energy vehicles, stop crop burning and fossils fuel.
There should be a national mission for increasing d " Scientific Temper "..among mass. It vil sort many problms of individual health related n environment protection n disaster management ......people dont have much awareness...so they dnt evn think abt tht...n implementation to door ki baat h phir......it vil generate strong n effective view point then imp steps wil be taken by d individual, community too..
1/3 ice caps melted between 2011 and 2018. India needs to stop its emition to keep its positive image as emerging market to attract investors. Govt should put more discounts at in grid solar installations for domestic revolustion.
Without large GHG emittors like USA and western European countries contribution and close cooperation with third world countries implementation of Paris promise and IPCC prediction would be difficult and non feasible.
I want to know if there is global warming or global cooling as NASA scientist recently posted a blog about cooling of thermosphere and slow cooling of other layers as the solar winds are decreasing and hence the atmospheric layers are losing heat.
It needs to be mass produced and affordable for people to use it. There are some fossil fuel free vehicles but most private and public vehicles still run on petroleum products.
