Just love your videos. PA guy. I camped at the lodge in Big Pine in February of 2006, and 2007. Loved it. Hooked into a goliath grouper just like that in the creek north of the blimp on Cudjoe key, pulled the anchor through the mud, pulled the kayak about 100ft, got wrapped up in the mangroves and broke the line. Next year, I just used a sharpened broom handle through the trolley ring and held in any soft bottom areas better than the anchor. I saw sharks, turtles, dolphins, manatees swimming by. Hooked a tarpon on No Name bridge, jumped, broke the line. Cought dozens of different species. Cooked up snappers, and grunts. Great fishing all over. Going back to this January to Key Largo, and Crystal River.
Hey it’s been a while sense I have seen your video’s and sure enough there’s no disappointment with them. I am from Cuba, lived in Miami, move to N. Carolina the beaches are beautiful here but not like a. Florida. I wish I had the time to meet you and hit the flats with you some day! Great video love them all.
Was it me or the camera was a little off? Couldn't see the magroves well. Excellent job there. Two days ago I lost a battle in the magroves, but I do handline fishing.
Mom died on Clearwater beach Nov. '89 I want to go back to the south where I did alot of growing up. Saltwater, freshwater fishing all around the bay and neighborhood. Scent in the water, snakes in the hamock, clams on the flats and sand dollars at the beach. No coconuts till Miami.
Awesome video my man! Was wondering where I could put in my lil 14ft skiff around this area? Is there an actual spot to launch or do u just put in anywhere?
I'd be interested to see if a polarizing lens would help enough with the glare that the bait chase would be visible. That snook was exciting, but ill never know just *how* exciting cause of that dang glare aha
Thank you for saving the iguana, brotha. I love that shit. I’d have done the same. You got yourself a subscriber and I don’t even fish. Cheers, brotha! 🤙🏾
Instead of cut mullet when targeting those nice snook try keeping a couple live 6 inch mullet as well as your pilchards snook can’t resist them live mullet sometimes
Wait, you use a leader that can carry twice as much as your main line? o.O Shouldn't that be the other way around? In case the line breaks you don't loose too much main line and the fish doesn't swim off with who knows how many feet of line hanging out of its mouth.
Up here in the NE when we snag Bunker for Striped Bass we us an egg sinker snag rig. I think you'd like it to so you get the big treble hook and can adjust the weight as needed. www.onthewater.com/bunker-bass-beaches
