Lindsey had such a nasty streak. You'd find it very hard to be a friend to her. It's such a bully mentality. But you know what they say, those people are the most insecure.
I don't like that Linzi for the same reasons. Watching this and her on the X factor, it made me want her to fail. I know it's a bad thing to say but I have a bad feeling about her. Plain nasty and a bully.
It's amazing how so many Boy Band Icons hooked up with Girl Group Members. The only one that also stayed together was Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud and Justin Scott of Triple 8 and although they didn't make it, Justin isn't known as Mr. Kimberley Walsh like he would have in the US.
Kimberley Walsh is the only person in Girls Aloud to have a heathy relationship with her partner of 13 years, tying the knot in 2016 and had 3 beautiful sons together.
I really don’t feel they should have all met in Jodi’s home. I see why Jodi suggested it, but I feel she should have met them somewhere on neutral grounds in a greasy spoon cafe near an estate or something. Because the home feels like a shove in their faces for the other girls who may not be living the high life.
For me it would have been ever more heated if it was somewhere else like a cafe or pub, I can see that the 3 girls, Anika, Linzi and Nikki would probably try to draw sympathy from other customers. At least in there, they were compelled to be composed given there was a then 2 year old boy and they don't want to have squabble with Kian cause they knew how frank and temperamental he is.
“Jodi’s acting career hit its peak when she won a British soap award for sexiest female” 🤣🤣the snarky commentary on this show was the best thing about it,
What happened to Girlthing also happened with Debarge who were lead by Motown to be the next big Family Group. When their Brothers Tommy & Bobby Signed as part of an R & B Group called Switch, they had no idea of the drama that took place with The Jackson Five. It was 1979 and the Family were still in litigation for leaving Nine Months before their contract ran out that resulted in a 20 Million Dollar Lawsuit. When Debarge were signed it was 1982 one year after The Jacksons settled with $500.000.00 and the rights to the Jackson Five Catalogue and name. They were first promoted in Right On 1972-2011 which was the First African American Teen Magazine. They made their TV Debut on American Bandstand in 1982, then National TV Debut on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever. I knew they weren't going to go far because James messed on the Choreography and Motown was legendary for it's dance moves. In 1984 they had their biggest hit "Rhythm Of The Night" but due to James's Drug Addiction and Bunny's burgeoning Prescription Addiction things went downhill. El got rearrested not too long ago for Drug Possession, and his Brothers Chico, and James (Janet Jackson's Former Husband) have done time in Jail as well while Brother Bobby who was Bisexual and a Heroin IV Drug user died of AIDS related illness. Another mistake that El made is that he sold his Songs for Drugs and that was a big no no since his songs have been sampled by other Artists, in fact it was performed by Scene 23 (Popstars 2 US) that Josh Henderson of Dallas was in and co-incidentally his Ex-Co Star Jesse Metcalfe dated Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud. Robin Thicke admitted that El Debarge and Marvin Gaye were major influences on him growing up.
They were made to sign a no dating clause? That's pretty much standard in the K-pop industry today. Wouldn't have thought a Western record label would do something like that
The Celibacy Clause was similar to what The US Group B2K where they weren't allowed. Their Manager Chris Stokes had total control. No Drinking, Nightclubs, Girls, Cigarettes. Their breakup was horrific because they didn't make a Dime, their own houses were registered under bogus Company Names. Even today they don't speak and one of the Members Marques Houston lost a chance to be Big with Speechless (whose Girlfriend Bree in The Video is Eddie Murphy's Daughter) because it was the year that Robin Thicke had Blurred Lines as the Jam in 2013. Also sadly enough their lives aren't all that great. One gotten beaten up in China, while the others do Solo work but haven't set the Music world on fire.
They were a Pre Fabricated Popstars Group before "POPSTARS" took off in The UK the first being in New Zealand. Also if I could have interviewed them I would have asked "How was it for you to see so many other Girl Groups make it from The All Saints, Sugababes, Atomic Kitten and Girls Aloud and you didn't, did you feel hurt and although Hear'Say took your Song, has it been easier to deal with since they didn't go far and that over the years alot of people lost their chance to do Songs like the Jackson Five who missed out on doing One Bad Apple because Berry Gordy The Founder & President Of Motown didn't like it that The Osmonds recorded who took it to Number One."
It was Berry Gordy's decision for them to not Record it. Also he also had The Corporation the Songwriting Team he headed so he may have felt that he didn't need any outsiders at the time. Alphonso Fonce Mizell who co Wrote I Want You Back, ABC, and The Love You Save is a distant relative of Estelle & Ronnie Bennett of The Ronettes as well as Jam Master J of Run DMC, he could also be related to Esther & Vernie Bennett of The UK Girl Group Eternal.
I think it was really cruel that Lynsey had to stop seeing Brian and yet Nikki kept on seeing her love, can you imagine the life Lynsey could of had instead with Brian, she wouldn’t of ended up in the situation she ended up with, on a council estate broke, I really feel for her because if she had been selfish like Nikki, her life would of turned out very different, so it’s ☹️
It wouldn't have been any better cause right now Brian is broke, reportedly lamented that the 5-piece Westlife reformation didn't come to fruition, he was hoping to use the money out of the contract to get to send his daughters to college, buy both properties in their name and for their future in general.
You have to be. It's a very cruel Industry. What was done to these groups was in many ways ten times more crueler than what happened to the US Kids. They too had their share of hard times but they perservered. Here's another fun fact. Westlife did Duets with Diana Ross as well as Mariah Carey who know holds the Record for doing More Duets with Boy Bands than anyone else. Besides Westlife she worked with Boyz To Men (One Sweet Day), and 98 Degrees and R & B Singer Joe with (I Wanna Know) on a Song called "Thank God I Found You". Stevie Wonder like Elton John did duets with Blue and Stevie worked with 98 Degrees on be true to your heart from Mulan.
If they thought they got screwed check out Wild Orchid and Innosense a Girl Group that wree both managed by Lou Pearlman (Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, O-Town, LFO (Lite Funky Ones). Neither of them made it but Two Members of each group became Successful. Stacey Ferguson aka "Fergie" of The Black Eyed Peas that Nicole Scherzinger was supposed to be in but her Boyfriend told her not to take it as well as Britney Spears of Innosense so you never know. I would have loved for the Surviving Members of TLC to talk to them because they went through much worse. Bankruptcy, Arson, Illnesses, and Death. They had to get a GoFundMe Page to record new music because no Record Label wants to touch them.
All of them were told not to have boyfriends and there's nicky having it off with the manager no wonder she got the wonderful life big house and money she married into money...i feel sorry for the others nicky and the manager martin are Hypocrites
