I've been hearing about some unusual activity out on the CSX S-Line, so I took a Saturday to go investigate. Nothing too radical, but I did have a great railfanning day so come on along.
Danny, your videos are truly NEXT LEVEL! They look like they come out of a movie studio. They are always very professional, and are absolutely WONDERFUL to watch!
I grew up in the Lake Alfred, Florida.l used to watch ACL train .passenger and freight run in the back of my house. At the time they were Minute Maid houses for employees on lynchburg road and the old dixie highway.(the old lake alfred road.) The houses are gone now. I came back every year to visit my Family and friends in Lake Alfred, Winter Haven,Auburndale,Bartow and a special friend in Lakeland.l work on some train cars and engines that l see in some of yours video.l was suprised to learn that the engines that l thought were scrapped are now refurbish and now pulling the Auto train. I retired from Amtrak in 2003.
Am I the only one who really enjoys seeing what Danny has for lunch? 😂 Those shrimp and oysters really looked good! Extra points for the cheese grits 😁 Now I'm hungry lol
Something about it seems comforting to me, though I can't explain it. It just feels familiar and friendly, almost like it's my grandpa telling me about his day, but also feels like some kind of classic travel guide you'd see on the old school Travel Channel.
Love that radio traffic - that's two people who've definitely worked together quite a while and it sounds like they have a great working relationship. I hope they both have long and happy careers, despite the current rail management being intent on putting people like them through a meatgrinder in the name of another few pennies of profit.
The Engineer we call him Kevin “Snake Man” Brown and he hired out in 97 Richard hired out in 2008. I’ve been an engineer on the south pool most of this year. I Hired out in 2002 and it has gotten a bit better since Joe took over. Thanks for the comment.
I took my 9 year old grandson to the Southeastern Railway museum in Duluth ,Ga. this week.Needless to say,he's hooked. Both of us love your videos.Thank you for the effort.
We went there earlier this year. It's a wonderful place. When I retire in a couple more years, I may well start volunteering there. My wife will surely appreciate getting me out of the house!
I wish my dad was still alive. When Bright Line opens to Orlando, I would take him from Miami to Orlando back to West Palm and take Tri-Rail back to Miami. He loved trains and cigarettes.]
@@hounddog946 I would have liked your father, for I also love those two things! I've spent many hours watching various train videos on YT... while smoking. It's very relaxing.
It’s a nice to hear kids are still interested in railroads. My late grand dad was an engineer on the Hartwell Railway from 1920 until 1960, he worked there for 50 years. I have a photo of him in the cab of his ALCO 2-6-0 (built in 1909)in 1939. My late dad was in the CBI theater, 721st Railway Battalion during WW2. The museum has two GE 44 ton diesels from Hartwell.
You’re videos are amazing you film a often overlooked part of CSX. And you still make it interesting and exciting too watch while giving plenty of information and motives for people to explore CSX’s Florida division
Danny, thanks for another informative and entertaining video. I have always had an interest in trains, now your channel and my retirement have increased my interest in the last few years. Thank you for what you share with us.
Glad to see that people are out there that truly enjoy their careers, One day, I aspire to be the exact same, regardless of what I land on! Excellent video!
Just got done cooking burgers 🍔🍔🍔 for dinner. Got the notification, threw it up on the big screen 📺 and enjoyed 16 minutes of another perfect DS video. Thank you sir for the perfect end to the weekend. 👍 🚂🚃🚃🚃 Watching from 🇺🇲 Pahrump Nevada 🇺🇲
Another great addition. Always learn something from your videos. Your skills with the camera and the drone and your editing are unmatched. I love your food stops. It's like Wow, that looks yummy and I'm hungry. And I love that you include railroad scanner chatter. You really make railfanning informative and personal. And the scenes of FL and GA are beautiful. Looking forward to another addition. Now back to watching some more of your past entries. 🙂
I like that upgrade to the Kenwood NX5200. Great radios. I have that one myself. Nothing beats a nice remote head mount, haha. Keep up the great work, Danny! Hopefully I'll get to meet you someday when I travel down to Florida.
Danny in the late 1960’s I worked for a civil engineering firm surveying all the section corners for Mackel Brothers Spring Hill development going just outside Dunnellen. Our crews always ate lunch at Mrs B’s family style restaurant in the middle of town. The train tracks ran right behind the restaurant and while we were eating in the dining room Mts B would feed the train crew out back. The restaurant is long gone now but the tracks are still there. Crews don’t eat as well now I suspect!
Awesome 😎 video and catches of all the CSX action and I loved the 3 way train meet in Wildwood, Florida and all the great things you always bring us! 5 Stars +Danny Harmon and your videos are always top notch and well edited! The best and most awesome 😎 railfanner on RU-vid!!
Thank you D. H., Your videos and narration have always been top notch 8! (Actually 10 out of 10 that is). Your drone skills are always over beautiful landscapes when available too! I’m like a little kid at Christmas time when I see you upload a new video. Thanks again for bringing these awesome videos to all of us rail fans.
Danny and the Golden Pipes are music to my abused ears! He could call a T-ball game and I would think it was the World Series. Thankfully, he loves rail fanning so we get to hear him regularly. RIP to LA Dodger broadcast legend Vin Scully, who departed us one year ago after making 94 rotations around the sun. His baseball broadcasts made listening to the game a glorious event. ❤️
Watching videos like this reminds me that I really need to get out of Orlando more often and stop being stuck in this quagmire of suburbia; there's so much beautiful Florida out there.
Danny, long time watcher... I think this is my first comment (or 2nd). Bit hot outside in the afternoon with temperatures topping 110F daily here in Las Vegas, but I don't live far from some freight tracks. You make me want to go out there and capture what I can get with my iPhone. Love your videos not just because trains are awesome, but you're the best railfan videographer out there. Thanks for keeping us educated and entertained. And thanks for making me hungry with all those food shots! :D
This was a good video as you explain each action. Love this Danny. Cool and interesting. 😊 Thanks again and we love your signs on your fence collection. Cool!😊 Great views. ❤
I grew up in Tampa and now live in Tennessee. Thanks so much for keeping me up to date on the old home front!! You sure do make me hungry for real southern food!!! Thanks again!!!
Great video and thanks for bearing the heat while lugging your camera around. We always appreciate your videos and especially the educational part of them. Stay safe and hydrated out there, Danny!
I've been a fan of railroads since growing up across the street from the Erie main line in Wadsworth Ohio. Just recently got into Railfanning and really enjoy watching your videos. very well done, thank you for all your hard work. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you for another informative video, Danny! I enjoyed watching the trains and the action at the Wildwood, Florida CSX Yard. It was interesting to watch M441-22 switching at Wildwood Yard and the other trains that showed up there. It is always a treat to see what you find to eat!
I'm envious of how good your radio channels sound while you're out chasing. I live less than 100 yards from my local railyard and half the time the radio is static-y.
Danny could be talking about the evaporation of paint compounds and I would be rapt with attention. His voice and speaking style are addictive and soothing. it also extra very cool that he happens to be talking about trains.
Another great video from Mr Danny...! I love the little lunch intermission, you seem to eat very well when chasing trains! Thanks again for your terrific work, cheers and regards from Melbourne, Australia...
Loved that video. We used to camp just outside Bushnell and could see all the CSX traffic rolling through. There was an unprotected grade crossing there so the horn's were in full regalia even at 03:00. Brought back memories! Thanks.
Another great video! High quality on the High Iron. After seeing that gorgeous plate of cheese grits, oysters and shrimp, I did have to pause the action to restore my equilibrium again!
Maybe one time you should do a railfan trip up to Chicago there's a lot of freight traffic with multiple different railroad freight carriers such as CSX UP NS BNSF Canadian national Canadian Pacific Amtrak and Metra. Also lot of great places to eat up here in Chicago. Great video as always
Hey Danny, I work for a short line in Jacksonville. The company is private but we are AAR. I love your videos, all I do is weld..and you sir feed my appetite for the rails! Thank you..
What a great video. I recently moved to Ocala and have been fanning in Wildwood with my son. You were there Saturday, we were there Sunday. Caught a couple of trains including a loaded coal train 110 cars two lead engines and a DPU. Good to know it can be a busy line. Hope to see you out there someday.
This video is magnificent, Danny! I personally enjoy your spectacular drone work. Beautiful landscapes & never-ending cargo makes my heart beat. Looking forward to your next video, stay on tracks!
Danny the reason I have watch your videos all theses years are to see which ones come though my territory of the CSX line Henderson sub from Evansville to Nashville. I know trains get reroute and other are broken up and engines are separated as well. Its still interesting all the same. Thanks for your many years of producing the best in railroad videos. Ted Green.
That's great, Ted. I hope to be in your territory sometime later this year or in early 2024. I plan to follow the Henderson sub and get that giant Henderson bridge across the Ohio river.
