How do Rangers solve the Tavernier issue?

Agreed that we need to ship out almost all of the ‘veterans’ who can’t seem to win anything and have a losing mentality. But I also think our Board have a lot of questions to answer and they seem to be getting off very lightly.

The puzzling thing I find about the rangers project over the last few years is that certain players have seen off several managers yet it’s only now the fans are voicing their opinion about these guys . I am so fed up with this group I would honestly rather have a group of young players leaving everything on the pitch and actually starting a game like they give a toss .Can we score 1st , can we keep a clean sheet , can we not lose a 2nd goal minutes after losing the 1st . This squad need to be stripped right back and it’s time for huge changes 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧

Tav has been average to poor all season and showed signs he was losing form the 2nd half of last season. Watching him miss penalties, deliver poor crosses/passes and get caught out in defensive duties has been hard to take after what has been a glittering career at Rangers. Sadly, it’s time to go and I think it may also help him to regain form for at least one or two more years if given a new challenge. You’ll be remembered as a Rangers great Tav, but now it’s time to go.

Tav cannot play , he is struggling at right back which is his position and you think accommodating him elsewhere is the answer. The guy should not play his form has deserted him and will be targeted

We need to look back at the 3-0 at Ibrox and play a 4 3 1 2 with cantwell sitting deep off a front 2 of Dessers and Silva with a midfield 3 of Raskin, Diamonde & Sterling.

We are fifth over last ten games as other four clubs above us don’t have Tavernier and barasic.

Drop him and replace him with another player ..just like every other player who is not at the races. Sterling could easily play in there.

Jonny is spot on regarding giving Clement proper time and space to get his own team on/off the park. A proper leader and proven winner.

I think it's time to move him on as he offensively a massive contributor,but his defensive side is not what we need going forward and if the rest of the team delivered what they should in terms of goals and chance creation then he wouldn't be missed,we need a more defensive minded back line

I would start Sterling as right back on Saturday. Hopefully Balogun makes it to partner Davies . Ridvan at left back. Diomande Raskin and Cantwell in middle . Mcausland and Silva out wide and Dessers up top . If it's Leon King or Tav on at start. It will be a tough watch. Tav can play a part out wide late in game with his goal contribution ability but not from start. Sima likewise could be a game changer if his minutes are managed wisely.

Jonny has had a breakdown! Butland...wrong side of thirty, he's at the peak for a goalkeeper and has proved it. I think Jonny is letting his disappointment with the season overwhelm him.😂🇬🇧

Just drop Tav. No need to shoehorn him in to x or y position. Drop him and bring in Sterling. I never thought I’d say this but I’d almost be tempted to bring back in Borna after Ridvans last two defensive performances. Play a different team this weekend and just go for it. If Tav, Lundstram etc start then we have no chance.

Tav's biggest strength was bombing up the right hand side and his crossing. Now he is coming 33 in October and he's lost a yard of pace and isn't a good defender. I think we need a younger RB and one who is more balanced in attack and defence.

Give Sterling a run at RB, his natural position. I know playing guys on their natural or best position is alien to us but we should try it, because what we are doing doesn't work. I recognise the goals and the fact that Tav has been with us since the lower league days. Others could have had alot of those goals with pens and free kicks potentially but he gets some credit. The simple truth is he is old, has been scarred by too much serial failures, and defensively he just isn't up to it. Same goes for Goldson, Borna and Souttar just is sub par. BEN Davies has not been worth £27k per week. Ridvans problem is injury and availability. He has had his chance. He can't keep up with demand. All need moving out. Tav and Goldson could have a good pay day over in Saudi or the English Championship. Souttar could be a good make weight for Hearts with Shankland with some cash, or for sale. He was a free so even a million or 2 and get him off the wage book. Ridvan is wanted in Turkey, let them have him and make it enough to wipe our face, but add a sell on clause. The same old faces have had their chance and time to shine. They haven't delivered. This isn't Killie, this is Rangers. If you cannot deliver wins on your rivals and titles, you do the honourable thing and get out the way and let someone esle come in with the right stuff and get us back to where we should be. We cannot accept a low bar, mediocrity or 2nd place ever. The pressure is there beacuse winning is part of the DNA of any top club at the high end of any league. Those who win get held as heroes and those who don't het chewed up, spat put and moved on. They are paid big money. It comes with the territory. As fans we must demand success. Prior to 2012 we always did that and the younger fans need to get on board amd demand the same standards that we always had as a club before. Money can't be used as the excuse when Celtic have beaten us with cheaper and lower paid players.

Successful sports teams across all major leagues have one thing in common and its CI. Continuous Improvement !! Rebuilds are costly and take time to to develop and needs to be replaced with a program of upgrading individual positions on an ongoing basis. Look around and tell me what championship winning teams have the same back four in place for 5 years like Rangers, the answer is none and therein lies the core problem at Ibrox. We get attached to players and fail to see their inequities and yet dismiss potential superstars like Diallo & Tillman as an example before having the time to prove themselves...

If we have any players left from the Gerrard era in our squad for next season, it will be the same old story. These players are bottle merchants. Proven time and time again. They are mentally scarred against that mob with the amount of bad losses they've taken, and that's the only team we have to actually try to be better than, the rest of the league is garbage. As for Tav, thanks for the one title, but I'm sick of setting up our whole team to balance out the fact you can't defend for shit. January transfer window is where we lost the title. We could of won the league if clement seen the injury situation the past few season and even till 15th October when he took over how bad it was and it has potential to lose the title. I would be shocked if Steven Davis never mentioned it to Clement in October after he arrived or someone from the medical team or maybe Clement knew and only decided to make 3 new signings in January and not recall 4 loanees Haji, lowry, DeVine, Cifu. Lammers was a right call for him to leave. We should viewed the January transfer window as planning for next season, but no he's waiting for the summer as its too later we know every new player needs a good pre season and football comes early some player sign right on the last day giving no time for preparation for a club of our size. We need to sign 10+ players even 15 due to half of them not making it or becoming injured or taking 6 months plus to get going its just the way it is at Rangers recent years. last 3 managers have failed. because MASSIVE injury crisis has ocurred - not just a few but 10-15 first team players out for months- or even all season. 2 things I would say is- we need more youngsters brought in to the first team as NONE of them have ever let us down. and i fear Clement is shakey tactically in the BIG GAMES. He plays safe. the Big game against Celtic he should have STARTED WITH HIS BEST 11 and if they couldn't last the full game fair enough substitute them. Cantwell should have started and so should Ridvan. and we needed Silva up front instead of Dessers. It was a disgrace that Cantwell didnt play. I love big Phil, and hope he isnt binned in November if we are struggling- our fans are a fkng joke. Gerrard got three seasons and Phil deserves the same. and we need more robust scottish players in our midfield and up front. Clement is an excellent man manager and he needs time.
