From this point on, never again will Suleiman say such nice things to Mustafa. A shame. What a great combo these two could've been, had Suleiman not been afraid of his son and let him go on campaigns with him

@@ZeeshanStates-ww7su Mustafa is certainly ambitious I’m not denying that. But that is normal for Princes. However he’s not actively looking to overthrow his father

@@hussainsultanzada6123 he was not only afraid, he was also jealous because mustafa was loved by all his allies, normally a father would be proud of their son being this strong and having the ability to carry their empire further, but sadly since mustafa isn't hurrem's son he was just afraid of him

When Mustafa thought that his and Suleiman's relationship started to get better, he got another unexpected and unpleasant surprise. He trusted his siblings way too much and this is what he gets. Firstly- Cihangir. Then Bayezid ( non direct) He should have kept his distance from them. Hurrem's children should have kept their distance as well. In an Empire where only one becomes the heir, siblings are not siblings,but competitors. And Bayezid + Cihangir are too naive to think Mustafa wouldn't execute them as soon he ascended the throne. ( talking about show version only)

@@blossomroses4323 there is no yet anything or anyone who can stop brotherly love. No one. Not a single power of the world. The huge one was Prince Mustafa with Prince Mehmet, with Prince Beyazid and with Prince Cihangir. And neither Hurrem could stop that, nor Syleiman or Rustem. Pargali Ibrahim's advise to Mustafa was right. He should have good relations with his brothers, so one day he should have them by his side and not having them as rivals. So Beyazid, Cihangir and Mehmet had good relations each other, but the evil Prince Selim the drunkard hated Mustafa and his brothers: he hated Mehmet, because he didn't leave him fight with Beyazid, he hated later Mustafa, because he couldn't accept that his father's decision was to make Mustafa Sultan after Syleiman's death, then he hated Cihangir, because he was at Mustafa's side and not at his side and he hated Beyazid, because he couldn't have the courage to fight him legally and with honor, everytime he used against him plots and manoevrings.

@@dionysiossmaragdis2844 but it is not sure if Mustafa will spare them when he ascends the throne though. Yes,he promised he would never kill them,but how would he be able to keep his promise? What if Bayezid decides to rebel for example? I don't know if you watched the Kosem series, but there sultan Murad once promised he would never kill his brothers ( like Mustafa), yet he didn't keep his promise. Why? Because 2 of his brothers tried to dethrone him. My point is in the Ottoman Empire, where only one gets the throne while others die,brotherhood shouldn't be a thing. Mustafa is naive enough to think he could rule along his siblings. While Bayezid & Cihangir are naive to think Mustafa's supporters would let them alive. Selim kept his distance and won the throne. Unfair, but times back then were cruel, people shouldn't let their feelings get on the way,because of brotherhood. Those feelings won't help them survive. They should be as cunning as possible. It was about survival of the fittest,not brotherly love. Don't get me wrong, I found their relationship sweet and goals ( Mustafa being the best elder brother you could ask for), but that was not the way back then.

They really villainised him in this show for no reason. He appears to be someone with no actual knowledge of dealing with political affairs unless it includes attacking Şehzade Mustafa. I guess they did that to highlight his rivalry with Şehzade Mustafa and (to a lesser extent) İbrahim Paşa and Lütfi Paşa. The real Rüstem was a genius, who earned his position of Grand Vizier and any rivalry with Mustafa was only a necessity due to him being Hürrem's daughter-in-law, not out of personal hatred for one another.

The best moment between Sultan Suleiman and Sehzade Mustafa. The peak of their relationship and trust. Only to be thwarted by jealousy of others. I am inclined to believe that sehzade Mustafa would keep his words of placing his brothers in positions of governance to help to strengthen the empire. He showed independence of thought in making decisions. Especially with sehzade Cihangir still around. Sehzahde Cihangir had a sharp mind who can read situations very well.. Intelligent and wise. Of it would be a huge plus to have sehzade Mehmet around to run the empire with. Sehzade Mehmet the pure heart.

@@hussainsultanzada6123 ? What. Suleiman never betrayed his father, Selim never betrayed Suleiman. I speak about traitors here, I don't know what are you talking about Mustafas son, mehmed, has to be executed because his father is executed too there before mehmed is not a son of a possible future sultan and must not be able to claim throne.
@DimSK.
@DimSK. 2 года назад
@Leo I think it's a must, mehmed wasn't a candidate for the throne, only the sultan children had the right to the throne. Since Mustafa was executed, his son must be executed too like his father.
