It's officially the start of Doctor Who finale season with "The Legend of Ruby Sunday", from showrunner Russell T Davies. After a season of half a dozen adventures, the little series of adventures is ending.
Story arcs have been set up around the lineage of Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), how she was abandoned on Ruby Road. There's also a mysterious, powerful threat who's been waiting for a long, long time. With so much going on, can the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) manage to save the day?

If Sutekh was smart, he'd start his own ASMR RU-vid channel where all he does is whisper horrific death threats to his audience for hours. Gold play button in a month.

I assumed Ruby's Mother wasn't pointing at the Doctor, but was pointing at Sutekh engulfing the Tardis. We just couldn't see Sutekh at this point.

My interpretation of Carla calling Sutekh "The Beast" is very simple. She's just religious and she interpreted Sutekh as Satan and The Beast is one of the many names of Satan.

And this entity may be a number of them. Gabriel Woofe voiced the Beast and Sutehk in Doctor who, to me that’s a hint

In the original Pyramids of Mars Sutekh is explicitly named as the origin for Satan.

I honestly haven't been this excited to see the next episode since I saw the Cybermen return in Earthshock way back in 1982. I also feel that Mrs Flood Is the Rani , an anagram of rain = Flood.

Trust me, as a non classic fan, Sutekh's reveal was hype af. I have no clue who he is but the build up is insanely well done.

People said " Who" was dead. In retrospect, I think this season shaped up to be pretty epic. Sutekh is back.

@@lesigh1749 Is that UK or is that global? I watch in Canada and the show has gained in the US and Canada over the years. Perhaps it's down now but I don't know what the Disney numbers are.

@@drewroosevelt6506 In the UK its averaging around 3.5 million consolidated each week, which is a record low, and if it doesnt air well in the UK, it doesnt get made at all. Globally Disney wont reveal its numbers which is a bad sign but its failed to even chart in the US Nielsen's or other charts, so its certainly pulling under 1 million views. it had a much bigger audience in the USA and Canada back when Matt Smith was the Doctor, it slid down to only a few hundred thousand through Whittaker. There's no evidence that its increased under Gatwa, it could be even lower.

Sutekh's reveal scared the shit out of me. That fear of what he might do hit HARD. He's also genuinely terrifying in design.

Mrs Flood I think this is a double bluff, Notice her mouth. She's got a gold tooth its very subtle but as she breaks the 4th wall you can just see the glint. Given what's happened to Susan I cant see her actually being nasty, Insane theory time Is she the God of Weather and Ruby is her harbinger basically her daughter, When Ruby's in danger it snows. More worrying i know they said Ruby is in the 2nd series but so far all the outside shooting she's not there. Does this mean however this ends the character changes? now we know the TARDIS is currently not able to be used, Does this mean a possible Cameo by DT/CT "Borrow mine" I sincerely hope they DO NOT do this because its just going to fire up his fans about how much they miss him. We know from the promo that's now been changed from the memory TARDIS he's going to get into one and see the entire universe dead. Could the Doctor actually be the God of life?

I think that the hooded figure in Ruby Road isn't Ruby's mother but The Trickster. Ruby's mum struck a deal with The Trickster, and that's why Ruby was abandoned at the church.

*Why does EVERYONE ASSUME that who (or what) left Ruby at the Church door is/was her Mother?* It's nice to think that. Ruby thinks that. Carla even projects her crying at leaving Ruby in the VHS Time Window playback... Even though she cannot see whether it's a man woman or beast. Everyone seems to assume only a mother would leave a baby at a church door. A Father could be just as caring if the Mother died in childbirth. In the nine episodes with Ncuti and Millie can anyone point to 'actual evidence' that shows the person (or who/what) deposited Ruby at the Church is a woman...much less that it is Ruby's Mother? NO ONE in the penultimate episode could actually see or describe the hooded figure. I sincerely think we've all been carefully led down the garden path...to what we'll find out next week... Or, if unlucky, possibly next series😢.

For a "Season One" this is an oddly distant throwback. I expected this to be for new viewers. I expect a lot of new viewers are just wondering what the hell is going on.

I honestly belive that modern who has the right idea but no clue how to get it going in would love for the one who waits to take a back seat and bring the trickster back maybe even the kids from the Sara Jane adventures and that's the plot line rather then this drawn out who did it kinase thing there doing atm but that's just my opinion

Suteck is controlling the TARDIS like possessed it and Harriet is trying to protect it too but Susan gone creepy when changes to something scary and who is mysterious figure in the cloak I think it was herself as a mum telling the doctor your in danger

Epic? Seriously? It's something the entire internet saw coming months in advance, the first half was so dull, the pacing was dreadful, slow for the first half with way too much exposition, and the last act was ridiculously rushed. Everything from the TARDIS not materialising now, to the Doctor no longer being a hero, to shoddy SFX for the final villain. It's just so inconstant, so you get a great bit like the time window or Mel as a spy, then ruin it with shonky VFX or tick box characters in there and not used!(looking at you Rose). This whole series, although miles better than anything Chibnal ever did, it's rushed, short, and even though it's entertaining, it's just not Doctor who

Although I disagree with some of the detailed points you made, I do agree with your overall assessment. The individual episodes are the best quality episodes we've had in ages, but the episodes don't work well with each other, which combined with a short season, just makes it feel disconnected and then it feels like we've suddenly rushed into the finale. I have enjoyed it, but something seems off about the season as a whole.

More haters to the show these days. Dunno what has happened, but it’s the only British series that I’ve been following since 2015. My starter is Eccleston, and my Doctor is Tennant. It’s part of my life even if it’s just lame for some episodes. The latest episode was great and nearly phenomenal. Love Mel and Kate.
