The biggest beauty trends for summer 2023...I can't get behind some of these 

Dew = sweaty in my mind…humidity in the Midwest and south makes me run from glow 99.999% of the time!

As a Southern gal (now in my 40s), the whole dewy look is pretty but not practical--unless it's winter. Otherwise, the look we planned for can quickly turn bad in the heat/humidity. Taylor, your suggestion of doing a matte face and adding highlight and lip gloss really is the better choice, and it is much more practical and manageable. That's the beauty of makeup! We can all make it our own for our needs and follow--or not follow--trends as they come around. It's fun, and it's supposed to be. Thanks for the informative video!

Wayne Goss did a video where he used "Exhibit A" blush by Nars, the bright red one, but he underpainted it with the foundation it looked like a natural sunburn so pretty!!

I'm turning 45 this weekend, & I'm still wishing, hoping, praying, and applying growth serum to my brows to atone for the feral plucking that occurred. I thought we 90s gals went as sparse as we'd see in my lifetime. I'm too once bitten twice shy to make anymore bold moves 😂

Wow, I LOVE blush and like to wear a little more than I should. AND, I already have barely there brows.... so finally I am right on trend!😂😂❤❤ I've also always liked a shimmery lip from the 90's!

Can you do a dazzling eyelook video, using rhinestones. I would love to see an eyeliner look using rhinestones. I'm definitely not into the barely there eyebrow trend. The people who are into this trend end up looking like scary aliens. I love a subtle dewy look. Same with blush. With the age i am. I like a more natural look.

My skin is so dry that no dewy look lasts for more than a couple of hours. I live in a very dry environment so my skin is thirsty for anything I put on it. My face goes matte pretty quickly. So whether one is oily or dry, that dewy look might not work that well. I don’t like any extreme makeup trends. For me they distract from a person, and I get that they are playful and fun for many.

Bold blush?? Yes please! I've also decided that summer of 2023 is me wearing headbands again

👏👏 to Scott Barnes for his underpainting technique, which far preceded today’s “trend” and is so much better done than most of the folks on YT or TikTok now. I’m with you that the way less skilled people do underpainting isn’t great.

I am so pale, blush and bronzer are a must! I look like the living dead without! That’s about the only trend I’m following. That and maybe the glowy skin, although like you, I have to “fake” it.

No! The eyebrow trend sounds awful. I'm definitely not a candidate for extremely bold blush. I prefer a more natural look. Not sure how I feel about putting foundation over contouring/bronzing. I'm a neutral lip person. Nothing too bright. I love skin tints. I'm definitely partial to a high shine lip. Lipglosses are my favorite vs lipsticks. Thanks, Taylor. Enjoy your weekend. ❤❤

Thanks for the video and your opinions:) I feel we share similar tendencies. It’s a no from me for most but I’ve been interested and have tried to do the blush all over the face look but still trying to perfect it. Keen to try the underpainting but have some doubts as you described.

Yeah, it's a no to all of these trends for me, lol. Call me out of the loop but I don't follow trends. Not even with clothing. I wear what works best for my body and what's comfy. If I buy an item that happens to be in tread that's just a bonus for me. Same with makeup. There's no way I'd look good with those types of brows 😮 or that heavy eyeliner on Vanessa. It closed her eyes up. I already deal with that so there's no need to add to it, lol. Very interesting to see what's "in trend" to be though. I wonder if I'll see anyone sporting some of them out in the real world... 🤔

I definitely do not follow 99% of whatever the trends are. I’m at the age where a lot of them are recycled and not really new. 😂 I keep up with and purchase new stuff all the time, but I use it how I want to. I co enjoy watching trends even if I don’t participate. Things like the eyebrows make me laugh. I’m just over here wearing my terracotta/orangy blush while everyone wears pink (I don’t like pink) and I’m ok with that. 😂 Eventually something else will take over. Fun video!

Hahaha I love my thick full eyebrows- turning 59 tomorrow 😅 and I never got on board the plucking tweezing stick thin eyebrows in the 80’s and 90’s - basically because I just ignored them lol. If you want to dip your toes into the weird lips trend but more wearable, LisaLisaD1 got me into the frosted lipsticks from L’Oréal and it is a little wild but more wearable. Shades Peach Fuzz and Tropical Coral are my favorites.

I’ve been dying my brows darker for a few years. I have a lot of grey hair in my brows and I don’t like it! I only have a couple on my head but my brows have gotten very grey 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s so weird! I can’t get behind that trend at all! I used to wear crazy lipsticks but now I’m more nude or pinky nude lips. I’ll pass on that one too 😂

Definitely no to the bleeched eyebrows! However, I am a fan of just having your natural shape weather it be thin or thick. Just leave them as they are people. Fill them in a little and leave it be. They don't need to be bleeched or look like slugs on your face😂

Yippee for bold blush! I'm a blush fanatic, I think. I have so many cream, liquid and powder blushes and have to stop myself from buying more. No eyebrows? Count me out! Already mine are thinning on the outer edges quite a lot at my age (going on 67) and I want them back! I do love neutral lips and I have to use a lip primer to hold my lip color and keep it from migrating into the lines around my mouth, so anything bold shows up if it moves off my actual lips. My favorite current foundation is the new Revlon Illuminance, such a great product. With lots of texture on the face, anything beyond light to almost medium coverage really shows. I don't know what is trending unless you and other reviewers report it since I have no IG or TikTok or even Facebook. RU-vid is my only social media unless you count the chicken forum I've been a member of for 19 years, LOL. I really think trends are for younger women than myself. We really have to do what works with our skin at my age or look even older than we are, JMHO. in other words, edgy is not a good look for me, personally. Sorry for the long comment. I do enjoy your reviews though we are at different places in our lives-my sons are in their mid-40's but I had to learn to do my makeup when I began my wig review channel a few years back. Interesting. I don’t like matte face or lip so I follow the trend in those (I’ve normal to dry skin and my lips look very lined with matte). Otherwise I’m so untrendy vanilla face 😂

Sounds like the trends are like the ones in Korea... But I need to skip the bleached eyebrows... Having done it in the 90s, I now suffer from white eyebrow hairs mixed in with the brown ones. They just never grew back in the same.

...and that's why they're trends - they're temporary 😐. Fashion in its many forms recycle every decade; YT & Tik Tok aren't doing anything new! We're recycling the 90s right now, it's pretty wild. Everyone just needs to do what works for them ✌🏾

I’m 50 and I’ve seen this light eyebrow trend now 3 x and each time I thankfully didn’t fall for it.Other than once a year threading to clean up and then tweezing twice a week…I have nice thick eyebrows. All my friends who plucked back in 1993 now have to draw their eyebrows on 😂 I warned my 3 teen daughters to not touch theirs anymore or they would regret it.Thankfully they are fearful of plucking so phew 😂
