If you actually follow this sport and the rules of it you can tell that this was a stupid but unintentional foul, he waited for both knees to be off the ground to throw the knee. However one hand down in the rules does make you a grounded opponent, I think in the heat of the moment and wanting the finish it’s a detail Jones missed. Just saw that both knees were up and went for the kill, for me not a foul, however he is a drug cheat so 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤣🤣

Pretty sure it's 3 points of contact and he pretty clearly did have 3 points. Jon has great fight iq and I doubt he would make that mistake. Even if you want to look past him you have to be completely unfazed by anything outside of the ring to put him as the goat.

Dropping your hand up and down to be protected from a knee is an absurd rule and is purposefully misusing the rule. The rule is to protect a downed fighter, not a fighter trying to stand up with zero repercussions. I would argue doing that is far dirtier than throwing a strike at your opponent.
I think the ufc should go back to street rules because that is a very vulnerable position and if you don’t want to get beaten to death, then don’t put yourself in that position. It is fighting and there shouldn’t be stances that are illegal to engage. Aljo does the same shit and he took a knee from yan and I always thought that yan should have won that fight because he had his opponent(aljo) in a worse position and was able to light his face up with a knee. If you don’t want to get kneed in the face, then don’t put yourself in a position to get kneed. All that knee down and 1 hand down shit is garbage in a real fight because I see that as the perfect opportunity to fuck you up and so did Jon and yan. Some rules are just plain stupid. If my opponent is on the mat scooting around but I am standing up and teeing off, that should be better for me but hey, we don’t live in a fair world.
