My buddy and I were fishing big water for Lake Trout and he always said if he got a 30# it was going on his wall. I landed a 31 pounder for him and said, "There you go Paul, there's your wall hanger". He looks at me as he's releasing it and say's, "Nope. I want a 40". RIP Paul. I hope you are catching all the monsters! Very Nice Cat Nick! Congratulations on shattering your personal best.

2 years ago I got a 47 pound fathead catfish. Every one said why not lie and call it a 50.. I said nope ill get my 50 last year got a 55 pounder.. all off the bank.

Nick... I came back to watch again just because your joy is so palpable. This time I caught your reference to Jeremy of "River Monsters." (Yep. I'm that slow. 😂) So... Sometime, please, tell us how long it took to reel in such a fish, or give us the raw footage? I love the fact that you let us see you trip and fall. Your transparent "nerd-dom" is part of the charm of your channel. We can't all be as perfect as Deer Meat for Dinner, but we can all strive to be as happy as you are when you're on the hunt for your next PB.

Nick I am over here in North Carolina, at 2:54am, hollering for you and your PBs. Heck yes brother!! Yank 'em up! Also, Ultralight has become my favorite way to fish in recent years. I have landed a couple dozen Blue/Channel Catfish on it. With 4lb test line no less. Keep on hustlin the fish. I am so unbelievably happy for you, Nick. Would have given you the biggest of high fives.

Catfish are monsters. Few years back a buddy of mine brought in a 63lb flat head! They are extraordinarily strong. Congrats on an insane day of fishing!

the best thing is there is room to go bigger !!! One day I want to see you land an over 100 lb. Kitty , a 150 lb. Gator Gar and a 400 lb. Sturgeon !!! My largest fresh water catch is a 43 .6 lb. Striper out of the Etowah River between Cartersville , Ga. and Rome , Ga while fishing for Kitties and chicken livers for bait .I never expected that !! I have also caught a 5 ft 9 in. Alligator in the St. Johns River using live bream and heavy Kitty equipment ! It was around 2 am in the morning while we were vacationing on a houseboat for a week . Everyone but me had gone to bed , so I ended up hog tying it for proof . Without it , no one would have believed me !! I'll be watching when your next P.B. is caught !!

Those were 2 massive Blue Cats caught on the 'ol Ugly Stick/ Abu Garcia combo. You should have kept one, filleted it up for a BBQ with friends. Little salt, pepper, paprika, deep fry, and some lemon squeeze. My barber was showing me monster Northern Pike him and his buddy were catching a couple springs ago. Can't reveal the location, but it is remote and the fish were over 50 inches.
