Just come back from 3 weeks travelling in India with my young family (by train). Amazing to see this, we actually ate at the Good Vibes at 0:17 (and stayed at the fabulous, friendly Coral House Homestay nearby). We experienced exactly what you did along Taj East Gate Road. At Agra Cantt station we were approached very calmly and politely by one tuk tuk driver who gave us a reasonable price. Because of that, he got more business from us later, as I took his number. So, thank you Govindha. If only all tuk tuk drivers were as polite as you and not as persistent they would do well.

This is so true. The worst for me was visiting some historic shrine and being pursued by a person who wanted to give us a guided tour. Despite us ignoring him completely he kept up a running commentary on the shrine as we tried to get away. When he finished he then demanded we pay him. It looked like it could turn nasty for us but our bus driver got rid of him. I would never go back to India. The daily hassle is so wearing. You become suspicious of everyone and everything they say. As a tourist almost every person you meet lies to you and is looking to make money from you. I was glad to leave.

Well we must not forget these Rickshaw drivers are poor people and they have to earn to feed their families. They are marketing their business which honestly all of us do and we all want more money... we negotiate for salaries we want more companies want to pay less, airline companies, hotels you name it all want more...just at a different scale... :)

Sudarshan Sanjeev This isn't exactly considered the north. This is just the most northern part of CENTERAL India. The North would be places like Punjab and himachel paedesh which are significantly safer than central India. The south isn't exactly safe either FYI only the places built for tourists in the south are relatively safe.

My friend is female and she visited India alone. She was just fine and nothing violent or bad happened to my friend. She is obviously Caucasian also. I think Indian people are much nicer, friendly and genuine than most believe they just have poverty issues so they are desperate to try earning RP if they can. They don’t want to harm you, they want you to want to pay them for services. She rode rickshaws etc and not hurt

Also not every part of India is like that: mostly places such as Delhi and the surrounding regions (which are the worst part of India). You also forget that he looks these scammers up. This one time I visited Taj Mahal on off season, as a bag packet with cute bangs, and kind of fusion attire of denim jacket + oxidised earrings- and I got mistaken as a foreigner literally everywhere- people kept talking to me in cursive English accent, tour guides wouldn't leave me alone even after I would politely tell them that I wanted to be alone in my solo trip. Was fun but also annoying..

Yes he has shown u an aspect of India not the whole picture. Any place that has a population of this size and an economy that is still considered growing will have people thinking of earning money in means possible. Try to b smart not judgmental. At last it’s your prerogative to choose to visit a place or not. However wanted to point out that the video is for awareness of how to handle such situations. Next India is big country and all the regions r not bound to give u the same experience. Its easy to judge people and place coming from a privileged country.

I’m almost 57 years old. I am American, born & raised. I’ve never traveled outside of the country. I’ve never even been to Hawaii (would like to visit) or Alaska (not on my bucket list). I’ve sometimes wish I could see Ireland. For the most part, I’m happy keeping my butt home. Especially now. I couldn’t deal with these pushy people. I don’t have the patience. I also don’t want to be scammed. Yes we have scammers in the U.S. But I know how to deal with them. And speaking the “language” doesn’t hurt either. India was never on my wish list. Now it’s on my “Oh Hell No” list.

MillySLIME yes because you being American and wing well off is the same as being in poverty and trying to Fred your family’s They approach white people as they are usually tourists and that is likely their main target market. They won’t get any sales if they don’t approach people as someone who does would get the lift and in a competing market they have to do what they can. It’s fine to be annoyed at the constant stream of people asking you but getting insulted or criticising them isn’t really fair They can either ‘harass’ tourists to try and make money or they can starve as they couldn’t make any money

I said east indian cuz here in Canada thats how people classify nothing to do with what you're saying..but just because you know a language doesn't mean you can communicate it effectively..theres so many little things they talk fast and use slang terms its diff then just knowing the language and hes not just saying it in basic ways its impressive he picks up on the more intricate details of what's said

Many even go back to India multiple times. There are many ppl who are apprehensive about going to India but a lot of ppl surprisingly love going there and keep going back. Being an India myself I can confirm India is a shithole but this is just the reality
