In my black widow challenge my sim married nancy landgraab who was, unbeknownst to me, pregnant with geoffrey’s child so it started this fun little storyline of the black widow sim bringing this unwanted stepchild from house to house as she married new spouses and hiring nannies all the time to take care of the kid. It also gave the perfect end to the challenge since the kid will age up into a teen right around the time the tenth spouse dies so I’m planning to transition straight into a runaway teen challenge as if she finds out her stepmother is a murderer and leaves for good. This game is so unhinged
my default save I had him get rich and kill the landgraab parents through anger so he is the only Langraab left since the son randomly died later. I dont even know how he died but also didnt really care so meh.
@@jadehunter2924 Maybe you just need to take him into CAS and then spruce up his house? But if you still hate him, it's okay. Sims players aren't a monolith and sometimes we can't explain why we feel a certain way about a given character.
I constantly think about Johnny Zest. I always give him a “hippy Hollywood” aesthetic, renovate his trailer, and make him the comedy and eco-conscious king that I know deep in my soul that he is. Then when the Landgraabs die, he gets to inherit their wealth, but because he’s a certified Good Lad, he donates it to charity. I have a very normal attachment to this polygonal twunk.
The sims i think about constantly are bob and eliza pancakes. I watched Dan and Phil play the sims as the first sims gameplay i ever saw (eventually leading to me watching this channel lol) and they lived across from the pancakes. The chaos they sowed made me so conscious of them that im constantly like "i wonder what theyre up to" or "i hope theyre well" lol
there's a couple of townies who stay over in my mind fairly often, but the no. #1 resident of it is Guidry from Paranormal. I want to write biographies about him. he intrigues me. he is everything. I literally begun a legacy challenge where he's the great great grandfather of my legacy founder and they all have to live in Duplantier Dwelling. 10/10 no notes, thank you sims team for giving us Guidry (and by extension Temperance. What is wrong with her, I love her too)
i don’t think i can relate to ur book taste based on the ones u mentioned but man if i don’t want to hear u talk about books more. it would be so fun. i am just a nosy bookworm who wants to know other people’s literary taste 😞
I like BL, generally hate harems, and have a growing aversion to xianxia as a genre. Too much creative bankruptcy. It's not like there's never any interesting ones, though. I remember liking Cultivation Chat Group, but I know I haven't finished it (over 3000 chapters!). The Legendary Master's Wife is a 5/5, 10 out of 10, would read again (and I have, lol).
I like to use the vanities for my teenage sims. The awkward EA makeup matches what I think us as teens (myself especially lmao) ended up looking like when we tried make up for the first time, it sure is a learning process and it's hilarious😅
I don't understand why but Don Lothario. I have married him several times. Right now he is currently having an affair with his son's pregnant wife. This is the only son he raised he had 4 other kids with Emelia Ernest. I also am a little obsessed with Bella and Mortimer Goth.
simsie, if you want to buy books next time youre in london I reccomend trying to go to Baggins Bookshop in Rochester (about a 30-min train journey away from central london). It's the biggest second-hand bookshop in England, and it's got an insanely cool 'attic' vibe to the whole place. not good for new releases but great for hidden gems.
Kayla, idk if you’ll read this, but I wanted to say I had a hard day and I just cried over it, and now watching your fun sims video is just helping so much to lighten the weight of everything. I’ve played sims 4 since it came out but no one I know plays it! So I started watching your videos a few years ago when I was in college in 2020. I wanted to say thanks for adding so much to our little community and bringing some light and positivity to the world when we need it. I definitely needed it today ☺️

Agnes Crumplebottom is my townie that I have often in my mind, I have varies ones in my game. The original flower stall owner and about ten others that keep popping up, I have made a few of them younger in different careers, even aged one down into a toddler, child, teen and young adult. They all live together in one household which I find funny and play them all when I am having a bad day with my anxious issues day.
I think they should make it an option to select for each table as to what kind of table it is. Like how sinks can be bathroom and kitchen or both, you could make it a food table or a game table and then any game could be a game table and you wouldn't have to worry about sims eating at it

Although i cant believe that was in 2017 - ive been subscribed since 30k subs - i remember the 50k sub special and when the twitch streams started. I thought that was only a few years ago but now im realizing its been a lot of years since that stuff happened!
For me, that townie is Marcus Flex. I use Wicked Whims and he... um, he would have flown from flower to flower and had new babies all the time had I not made changes in CAS and in the settings (incl. MCCC). While I managed to stop it, I just can't help thinking when I spot him that if he has obeyed. 😅
Amen about the UK book covers! I also got the uk versions of a studying in drowning and once upon a broken heart. They are just WAY better! Blackwells is my go to for getting UK editions for anyone that wants them but isn’t going to the UK anytime soon.
I love Kyle, he’s my sims husband in my save. She had the serial romantic goal so she had to date people. Kyle invited himself over and then eventually they became best friends and then roommates. She kept bringing people home and every time he would get mad / leave. One night after a house party they hosted together, they woohooed. She was dating a few people when Kyle autonomously asked her to be his girlfriend…she said yes! (This was before boundaries), she had to date like two more people so they cooled off their relationship, but stayed roommates. He got so upset when she was dating other people, and always ended up wherever she was on a date with someone. She broke up w the last guy and Kyle autonomously asked her on a date. It went insanely well and though I somewhat worry she totally traumatized him, they’ve got a massive home and 4 kids…so I guess it worked out.
this is crazy and unrelated but the thumbnail originally made me think of the sims 3 goth manor honestly wouldn’t hate to see a rebuild/reno of it in ts4 hehe 🤨

mine is don lothario. i always avoided him just bcs i got bad vibes (then learned his shady behavior and REALLY avoided him). then i started a new save with the wonderful whims mod and my sim was attracted to him so i let them have a relationship. the one and only time they woohoo’d, he gave my sim crabs. never talking to that man again.
Townies that live rent free: Victor Feng (I have "saved" him from his marriage multiple times), Bella Goth (always WANT to marry her, but her marriage actually seems happy so I settle for friendship), and Johnny Zest (I always re-ad him into the Landgraab family tree with MCCC then have an adorable romance or friendship with him)

So like, I've known that the black widow challenge was a thing for years now and I knew the basic was "marry rich, kill spouse, move on", but like until you explained it I never really thought of it but this is literally just how I played the Sims when I was a kid. Neat.

I understand why Kayla might think her original Black Widow Challenge videos are "embarrassing" since they're several years old now, but as someone who has been watching her videos ever since that series, I think they're wonderful still!! I've actually been watching some old speed build videos and old let's play series (my favorites are the wheel spin challenges!) as a source of comfort during a lot of life stress. They're all so nice and I love watching them :) Changing and growing as a person and improving your content over time is not embarrassing at all!!
I have one with a butler suite, a ballroom with stage big enough for dj, piano, and microphone, a greenhouse, 6 big bedroom suites, formal parlor, double kitchen, formal dining room and I can't remember what else. It tends to take me like a week to build a mansion, and that's without over-decoration. The Baily-Moons' isn't quite as big, but it has two pools, a dance hall, statuary garden, playground, bowling alley, marble basketball court (lol) and lots of other goodies suitable for a family that wants to have top-tier parties of the non-stuffy kind and still raise a family. And a couple of the Windenburg families now have actual castles. One fully walled with moat, guard towers, and gatehouse. But I can't build big for long before I need a break, then I'm just throwing up tiny homes or modern homes that don't take long.
Catching up with this speed build. Love it! Haven't seen any of the streams but I used to have an actual dog called Spider and I always head to the bookshops when travelling too 😄
I totally get the book thing!! Every time I go into a book store it’s dangerous for my wallet. ALSO!! Once Upon A Broken Heart is soooo good!! The second is amazing
I looooove the butlers in this game, pretty much every single legacy challenge I play ends up with one. I usually give them their own bedroom and bathroom but I lock the doors for just the butler so no one else goes in there
One thing that would be amazing if they added is a new secret door. Like if they had one flat door that just had seams on its sides and was not very visible, then it had a bunch of basegame swatches of wallpapers so it could be mixed and matched. Then it could be a more realistic secret door and way better than us all pretending we dont see the bookcase door, and it'd be a super easy make too, just flat wall basically.
Speaking of swatch updates, what we need is for them just to go in and update every. single. wood item from the base game and all the packs so there are matching wood swatches for everything.
I watch all your videos. Have you ever considered embracing the lighting? Many houses have specific windows for where the sun is. North South, etc. You should try working with the lighting sometimes because ceiling pucks aren't everything, and moody lighting is a vibe. Ditch the symmetry occasionally, too? Walls uneven are more fun
Bought a changing table for my RL kiddo and we hardly ever used it. You just change wherever is easiest. 😆 So haha, your commentary for the Sims… spot on!
