If you are at the back just before a hard corner, open up a little gap just before the corner. Everybody in front of you needs to inevitably slow down while turning but you dont. Take your choice line and connect to the group in front after the corner. That way your bike handling can cover your tired legs.
Great video of a Crit and well done in A grade. Know those trying a new grade feelings well. I was in a race with exactly the same problem the legs and head knew how to race and I could fight for the best position on the last tight corner but had nothing left and no sprint so had to wave them all past me well elbow flick as you say in fact. My racing days are well past me now but living it again through you in your video was great. I was a 68kg climber now i'm just a 78kg fat old bastard, such is life as Ned Kelly said before they hanged him.
Great work mate. Kudos for signing for A even if it was a mistake and still going ahead with it. May have come last but holding on is still impressive. That’s proper solid training. If you keep getting racing in like that you’ll totally get stronger. I’ve done that crit before. That sprint every lap is a real killer. Just really drains on you.
Thanks for the kudos! I did have second thoughts but may as well test myself. Hopefully I’ll get to do it a couple more times if my schedule allows. Thanks for watching and commenting.
nioccceeeee not that bad - those corner efforts - like intervals once riders suss you out and how you ride - A grade is not to be scared off tho you have to be experienced
It is on Thursday evening. E, D and C grade race at 5:45pm. And B and A grade are at 6:15pm. This race is actually a bit hard for me to get to on time. But I’ll try and do it before they end for the season.
Thanks for following the channel and watching my videos! I got into cycling a few years ago because I started a new job on the other side of the city. It was only 10km away so I bought a cheap hardtail mountain bike off Gumtree. The rest is history :)
The ability to podium was slightly easier during the COVID 19 period and remains the case ever since . A friend's children were in the Lidcombe Club and they quit during the pandemic and never returned . This video shows how much the road cycling involvement levels have fallen since 2019 . The sport has many problems . If the sport had more participants , Josh , you would find it harder to get noticed or win anything . Modern knowledge and rider aids / components / frame design are like a mild golf handicap .
@@joshkwanIn my day , bicycle technology was analogue except very basic Sigma / Cateye bicycle computers and cadence measurement was still a bit of a luxury .
You didn't look as aggressively set up on your bicycle as some of the other riders . Bicycle selection would have helped given the winds experienced . A Giant TCR aero top model , for example , may have given you a slight advantage given that most other riders in the group had similar style models .
