I use 0.1% Tret every day and I exfoliate every night with double cleansing because I wear makeup every day. I am still alive and so is my skin. Its a myth that you cannot exfoliate every day. The point is to use a gentle soothing exfoliant which will not disrupt your skin barrier. There are plenty of gentle biodegradable physical exfoliants out there.
retinoids are not the same as exfoliants; you can use a retinoid daily and swap it out one night for an exfoliant, but it’s recommended that you avoid harsh acids when you newly start a retinoid during the retinization period.
Hi doc I really need to ask Can the photosensitivity caused by AHA & BHA cause cancer ? And can i prevent that with tretinoin ? Overall how can i make exfoliating safe without having potential melanoma ? Also where exactly on my face should i apply glycolic acid and tretenoin?
Should we wash our face after using exfoliator? I use somebyme aha pha bha 30 days miracle. If i use it in the night before sleeping. And wash my face in the morning after i get up, would it be a problem? Please reply, I need to know this..
There's only so much the skin can take anyway. Its like vitamin c, you don't need it everyday because that stays in the skin for days . So you only really need 1x or 2x a week.
How would you know how someone’s skin is? We have 2023, so stop acting like everyone’s skin is different! I have dry skin and the best acid for my skin is salicylic acid. Apart from that I can tolerate it every other day with tretinoin (salicylic acid in the morning). Not everyone fits into these rules.
That's interesting because salicylic acid works more on your pores and oil while aha work on the surface of skin. So if you're dry I would think a mild AHA would work better
@@Soumyameghani Thank you. I also have another question if you have any idea, can we incorporate mud masks with a skincare regime that includes aha BHA and retinol?
@@akankshatyagi7553 surely But mud or clay masks and retinol can be a little drying together So, use them on different days Also, how many times in a week do you apply a mud mask ?
Depends on your skin and how strong of an exfoliant you're using. I have combo skin so I do 2x a week in the summer but 1x a week in the winter. I use retinoid and salicylic acid as well so it really depends on what your skin can tolerate and what else you're using
She isn’t trying to gain or achieve anything. It’s made so YOU can know how to take better care of YOUR skin. YOU are the one that is gaining more knowledge 😊😒
