i'm glad i am not the only one who noticed how every time the narrators said something would or would not happen, that thing wouldn't or would happen respectively, and immediately. They really didn't know what they were talking about when it came to Maru OR Solar in this one.

Keikakudōri means just as planned in Japanese.( I know its a bit off being Japanese instead of Korean, however This all just perfectly fits that theme so I used it anyway.)

@@sungoh78 Not for Maru. I distinctly remember how he nuked a Hatchery, which had his opponent's whole army. By mistake. That was a couple of years ago, so I don't remember which game was it.

That one was still nowhere close to this 159 supply brood lord army being annihilated into 75 of which was mostly just low health corrupters. And also turned a game that was completely lost into a miracle win.

They do start becoming a drain on resources because on the pro level they are often very good at mitigating the damage. What happened here is extremely rare, and as they say in the game: It takes a huge mistake from the Zerg. Which of course is what happened.

@Lawrence Chris Medenilla onydifference between nukes and those is, they hit a lot more. A LOT more. Less devastating by far yes, but still massively devastating

I'm obviously not a high tier player... but *IF THEY LAND* there isn't much in the game that provides as much punch for so little cost. The biggest hurdle is how to use them effectively against an equally skilled opponent. They are also not something that can be safely ignored due to their punch, so they can also be used to throw off micro management at critical points for the simple reason of providing a huge threat that must be dealt with in a different area. If you cannot find the nuke you do not know WHAT you are trading the micro fight for, and multiple launches CAN make mid tier opponents miscount how many ghosts they need to find. Being off-meta can also trip opponents up and cause snowball effects if you can capitalize on it.

Sure, if you dedicate an army to the nukes, your unlikely to get a good hit with it. But when it does land it’s mark, it’s such a good feeling.

So true haha. BTW, if we sum up all the money spent in nukes by maru over all games, and their ROI... Haha casters might be right finally. However, the nuke is not only a damaging cast, but more a zoning cast when T cannot take a frontal fight, high pressure sound "nuke launch detected" that you HAVE to handle, if you don't want to lose a full mineral line or your army...

Well, the thing about nukes is it saps attention from the other player trying to locate the tiny red dot and then the ghost when everything else is going on. Timed correctly, it has a chance of disrupting the opponent's micro.

Exactly, those nukes are zoning away the zerg and we see saw Solar slowly trying to push the bottom left base of terran by getting creep and spores set up there and maru just nukes them away.

What killed him is that he pulled back the Overseers at the same time the Broodlings went out - I think he saw the Ghost and was trying to get it with that group of Broodlings, and then accidentally withdrew detection at the worst moment possible, so when the Broodlings looked for new targets, they only saw the Command Centres. And a moment later, by the time he had detection again, it was too late.

@@protodvd rare instance of too much apm. the funny thing is that there was no threat to his overseers. just a single turret shooting 100+ supply of floating bugs, was never going to kill the detection in time. but he just had to save his corruptors (that were grouped up with his overseers) that little bit of health.

the overseers are too far behind from corruptors group moving back and forth so I maybe it's sight is getting in range and out of range from the ghost at the same time.

@@protodvd after watching it a few times, yup, Solar definitely saw the Ghost, but he kept pulling back his Overseers. Probably (reactively thought he'd kept them over Maru's army long enough that the broods managed to kill the ghost, but they didn't. "Takes a pretty big mistake from a zerg", and being too flinchy was it. Spectacular mistake though!
