Foockin finally a CC who actually do deep dive unlike other CCs who just say wuwa story have story problem. Somehow everyone including CCs forgot about these trailers and didn't even consider looking around the ingame lore for possible lore clues. There's even a reddit post that done a very good job on theory crafting about 1.3 unlike other CCa that seemingly have freakin amnesia 🤦♂️ . Here have my sub, you deserve more so people will know what Kuro actually is cooking.
@@No_ex_ when some CCs said wuwa is throwing jargons and terms they don't understand, i was like "bro, wuwa a freakin sci-fi and post apocalyptic theme game" of course wuwa will put terms that you as a player supposed to know or if you don't, you just may wanted to search for. Best example of this kind of lore building is Elden ring and they even have channels that dedicated to uncover ER's lore that may still hidden. CCs supposed to take advantage of this to cover Wuwa for lore reasons but instead they just makes videos of their incomplete view of the game and make it already a problem of the game 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Freakin failure of CCs. They are just busy with drama, which the only thing that saves their channels from failure 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@ggrimmfield5529 It feels like they just don't care about video game stories anymore since drama gets more views than covering the story. I missed the days where CCs cover stories instead of drama farming.
To be fair it was the same when Genshin started, lore and story wasn't really the main thing people were focusing on, with more time and lore getting more polished and flushed out these videos will generate interest and hopefully more CC's start doing it.
@@OrtonHeadXIV True a lot of players got into more of Genshin's lore after the event with Fischl-Scaramouche-Mona where they say the sky was fake. It got even more interesting after Enkanomiya dropped. So we'll have to wait and see until we get more lore crumbs in WuWa.
I hadn't found many channels that talks about lore in WuWa. I hope you can make longer videos explaining more about the basics, what is the sonoro sphere, what is the lament, etc because those are topics they mention everywhere in the story and if you dont fully comprehend what they are one might get confused a lot (my case)
Genshin hooked me on its lore more than the actual story so i was hoping wuwa would have some deep lore and i was not disappointed Would appreciate if you keep making videos on wuwa's lore....thnx
The Pegasus is probably another one of the Sentinels. Probably the Rinascita Sentinel, considering all 6 Huanglong Sentinels are dragons. I also find it interesting that the dragon Sentinels used to be one entity before splitting into 6. I wonder what other Sentinels would look like outside Jué and the Pegasus. 🤔 I also find it interesting that despite Alto not knowing much about the Shorekeeper, he seems to know who Anake is, as when Rover saw her and said they remembered her from somewhere, Alto said, "knew it." Alto knows more than we think. Also, when we first meet him, he mentions his boss is the reverberation of everything in the world. At first, it's played off as a joke. But knowing what we know now after 1.3, I'm starting to think he was either referring to Rover or Anake... This means Camellya probably knows this info as well. It's interesting that Kuro is writing it this way. I haven't seen anyone bring up the fact that Alto knows way more than he lets on. He even knew about what we did last time we woke up on the Black Shores, meaning he knows about our past. I still find it strange that Alto somehow knows about Anake, and why did she show up in act 5 in the Cort of Savante. Hmmm... Anyway, W video! We need more Wuwa lore channels like this!
@doedoel035 I'm sure. Yangyang said it herself in Act 1. Or at least, she said, "In Huanglong, most of the Sentinels take the shape of a long." So I guess there could be an outlier. But most of them are confirmed to be dragons.
@Shadowflutter196 No, because during 1.3, he mentions that he has never seen Shorekeeper in all his time at the Black Shores. So he was either referring to Rover, having known her 20 or so years ago somehow, which makes Camellya's comments about Rover being familiar to her start to make more sense. Or, he was referring to the goddess at the beginning of the game. It's one or the other, and I'm not sure which one.
During the festival though, one of the booths said a Fox is another sentinel, probably the one we will go on next. From the beginning, it said there are other types of sentinels. If we are going to Rinascita and it is a dragon, then it is still Huanglong, if it is a Fox, then it is no longer Huanglong but a different country. I wonder which it will be.
I guess great minds really DO think alike. Lol 😆 We both released lore videos about this deity and resonators within just a few hours of each other. Great video btw! Love the implications of irl mythology. Keep them coming brother ✨🙌🏽
At the Moonlit festival, a booth mentioned a Fox as a sentinel, so not sure what form Rinacita sentinel will be, Huanglong sentinels are dragons, a fox would be a different country
@@ROMVS No, Hsin is a part of the Azure Dragon (Qingloong), it's definitely a Huanglong sentinel. Their sentinels are *mostly* dragons, Hsin is an exception.
If Rover is an interpretation of Fimbultyr, an avatar of Yggdrasill. No wonder we're all important. It's quite interesting but doesn't exactly leave much room for personal growth or an elevation of stakes. The 1.3 story was rather contained to just the Blackshores and it's issues so there's definitely ways this story can go.
Her deliberate self-inflicted amnesia is what opens up that room for personal growth. We've already seen Rover open up more and embrace the friends she's made in Jinzhou. It's very likely her story arc will follow a similar trajectory to Shorekeeper, learning about humanity and the value of humans relationships and such. Grounded experiences that are very foreign to a godlike being she seemingly was in the past.
In 1.3 we can hear that the past rover is pessimistic about the world. But the current rover can take any risk and do what is really deep in their heart wanting.
Adding on Google comment about amnesia, highly doubt its simply amnesia, given its implied that Rover disappeared & appeared again & again, its more like a Rebirth. Rover always comes back in Solaris (or if theirs another world etc) blank state, Rover doesn't remember anything in his/her past life/self, hence Rover will not be hindered of his past self experience etc when making decision on the present, which makes logical sense, because the longer a being lives the more he/she will makes a decision that is optimal, logical etc won't even consider the emotional side (its the cliche setting of immortal beings which they lost their emotion and tend to be logical etc) Hence tethys system is kinda the implication of that hence why it got resetted etc by Rover, because tethys system made a decision that is the most optimal, logical etc even if it had to sacrifice something for the greater good.
amnesia is what allows the personality to grow the most while the character remains the most important. Just like the doctor in AK In the past, he was no different from a monster. But after losing his memory, his personality changed. That's the room where their personalities can grow.
You mentioned the Fimbultyr, and that reminded me of Fimbul-winter. It's meant to be teh prelude to Ragnarok. Essentially, Fimbul-winter is an arbiter... Lord Arbiter, Rover. Rover is the arbiter sent to rebalance the world (this sounded more put together in my head)
I've seen people saying that the hooves and horse like creature would be a hint for the next sentinel but its not a qilin but rather a sea horse and it'd tie in with the next region having lots of water
I WILL pull Anake when she somehow comes out. SHE IS LITERALLY SO GORGEOUS LIKE WHAT? It's ILLEGAL to be so pretty and i also really like her character.
Based on leaks: Spoiler: Rinascita leaks show an illustration that seems similar to the slight peek we get there. Upper half seems like horse, but lower half is closer to that of a fish. So a hippocampus, which would make sense with the thematic of Rinascita. And could possibly be one of it's sentinels. Don't know what that implies story wise though. Doesn't mean that it's the same creature as shown here, just saying there's a possibility. To begin with the leaked image is more of a wall mural while the black shores one is a data sheet.
Everywhere other than this creatureverse, I could only find that Fimbultyr seems to be an alternate name for Odin. I don't know if Rover is actually based of off him. And also, I couldn't find any other source where Ananka was depicted as a silver haired woman with red eyes. I am really confused what this creature verse is even. Edit: Ok this creatureverse is a fictional multiverse or just a web of fictional info on characters made by many creators. It has several inconsistencies with irl mythology because it is in the end just fictional lore(s) based on irl.
After looking it up it seems to be some random fanmade setting that's completely unrelated to mythology. Derpy Hooves is featured on the character category page, so I imagine that Kurogames isn't basing their story off some random western wiki.
Okay so what I can say is that I am a huge lore nerd and did a lot of digging on gods and what not. I actually believe Rover to be Thetis not Fimbultyr. Thetis is a Titaness of natural law. She also happens to be the creator of the Oracle of Delphi which is interesting given Jue and it's predictions. Also keep in mind there has been a focus on "the laws of the new world". The way I see it this new natural order including attributes are natural law itself. Also Rover is called the "Lord Arbiter" this is important because Rover is the voice of reason which again goes back to law and justice. I think the most interesting thing though is that Thetis is the sister of Tethys. Tethys is a River goddess as well a goddess that protects nursing mothers. This is interesting because she seemed very motherly or even sisterly to Rover in the beginning cinematic. Also because she pushes Rover through the upsided down ocean as well. I would say it's a very fitting name.
Some of it was getting too deep and would require characters that haven’t been revealed yet in WuWa, if the adaptation is accurate. The character Khaos is the creator of the void, which in WuWa terms would be the ‘Lament’ or Waveworn Phenomena Phrolova may possibly be in the void during Jiyans first appearance cutscene
WUWA is indeed intersting 🤭 Your there are intersting comments below your video. So many lore explorers. You will get yorself many sbscribers in that way, I'm one of them now 😊❤
We share the Qilin (or any hoofed mythological creature, if Black Shores is Huanglong, then a Qilin would make more sense) speculation and the idea of multi-dimensional world. I'm not sure why they opted for a triquetra-looking logo though. Combined, they look like the flower of life which is interesting to say the least. It's also stated during the quest that Jue is an extra-terrestrial. Mianloong is said to be her vessel and that she descended from another planet. Might be clue to the nature of these sentinels. From the looks of it, I see them drawing from various mythologies as their world-building inspiration. Abraxas (Abby) in itself makes me think of yet another gnostic-inspired world-building. But the scifi aspect adds to an even more exciting prospect as the genre is so full of far more interesting stuff than just fantasy. A great foundation I must say as WuWa could draw both on ancient mythologies and the esoteric (e g. Greek, roman, egyptian, norse, slavic, gnostic, hermetic, chinese, etc.)while also getting something from science fiction (e.g. string theory, quantum mechanics, etc.). What I hope is that they don't forget the spice and kuro's touch. That is the post-apocalyptic aspect. With that being said. Great video man! WuWa needs more lore CCs but I understand that we don't have much to draw from at this point. I almost want to make one cause I can't find one aside from few channels. Lol. Looking forward for more!
when u start the game u start falling into the water awake and next thing u are on land. could the first landing at the upside down water be her first arrival and then the second screen when she is on land unconscious the second arrival??? all i was wondering about was how the hell she going from that sea to the land and where did the sea go after landing.
Alright here's the sub i didn't even think of wuwa lore until you just explained i just used to enjoy the gameplay..!! Keep the content coming and thanks for making me love wuwa even more
So now we know 3 different Sentinels, right? Jué the eastern dragon sentinel, Hsi(?) the fox sentinel, and wei zhi(?) the kirin/horse dragon sentinel. I really like your videos and how you connect things from other sources to the in game lore.
With how PGR's story is on CN, currently (which is sad and despressing), and the fan theories about WuWa being a future timeline of PGR, even Kuro sneaking Nanami into WuWa as an easter egg; I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow just wrote Ananke as being Lucia reborn as a new character
I think its not Longma but Hippocampus (ancient greek creature) Because on the icon picture leaked it does not have back legs, but it has a tail instead of them. Moreover, the leaked images of next nation look more Greek than Chinese
Perhaps it's the sentinel for Black Shores. Hippocampus would indeed fit more than a Qilin considering Black Shores is a multi-national organization. One thing is certain, that sentinel has hooves. lol.
@@hijodelsoldeoriente I don't think we will have a Sentinel for Black Shores. This is because it's not actually a civilization. Also the 2.0 region tends to have a lot of oceanic themes
Okay so I'm just going to say right now. I'm not saying your wrong but it could also be that the kirin-like creature people suspect the hooves to belong to could also be her sentinel. In fact I believe she is actually Tethys. Which would make sense as Tethys is a titaness of the ocean in greek mythology. Which would makes sense hence the "Tethys system". Also if she is named after a river titaness than it would make the blue emblem in our rule of 3s make sense for sure. Also it's a very interesting if the goddess than sends the Rover through the upside down sea is a river titaness. I've noticed WuWa has tons of symbolism. Oh I almost forgot there is also an underwater nation so it makes sense for their sentinel to be aquatic.
I think first female characters like goddess we see. It's Rover patner in first adventure. Because in 1,1 story we got tell by jue we go adventure with madam. I think first female character like Goddess it's what jue call madam. 🤔
hummmmmmmmm what if ananka was the one who did all that stuff years ago. making the black shore saving the wrold etc... rover and her basically the same entity highly unlikely but seems fun to theorize
god if it ends up being mother child (and im kinda hoping it does- I fucking love the potential that comes from dynamics like that) i know a couple of folks that will be VERY upset.
A Longma, so dragon horse? Wow, I thought it would be a Kelpie, since it was next to water. Also Pegasus is completely different, it's horse with bird wings.
3:07 “Self identifies” 😂 Bro, if you’re a God-like being that can be whatever, then you ARE a woman when you’re in that form. You don’t just coincidentally come up with a form that happens to have the biological specifications of “woman” on a whim 😂
Actually greek gods absolutely did. Many of them used various different forms both male and female. Only bringing this up because this discussion is strictly about mythology
@@cynthiahembree3957 Yeah, and I would agree. This is probably just a misunderstanding but my point wasn’t that God-like beings can’t transform on a whim. My comment was specifically criticizing the use of the term “self identifies” in the screenshot that was put up at 3:07. God-like beings don’t just claim to be something, they can literally turn into what they say they are. So for example, in Ananke’s case, I would argue that Ananke doesn’t “self identify” as a woman, she is LITERALLY a female on account of literally taking the form of a female. TLDR: No need to self identify if you are what you claim you are. Hence Gods don’t need to self identify because they can transform into what they say they are.
