People are labeled snitches when they commit crimes with others and tell on them. Or they find out info on another street guy and tell the police in hopes to help themselves.

The code for snitching is like this. If you do a crime with somebody, or are involved in some way in the commission of the crime, and then tell on the people you did the crime with. Thats snitching. I don't think it can be considered snitching to know something from the outside and tell. It's all about being involved and telling.. or being involved in a gang or some kind of organization that did a crime and then telling on the people that did it. You have to be involved. If you're not involved with anything and you tell what happened.. its regular shit.
