Hi Gango! I'm Vango... and today we're reacting to "Take Me Back To Eden" by Sleep Token for the very first time! ^.^ I hope you enjoy! #sleeptoken #reaction #music
Vanessa, if you can, will you please delete the comment below that reveals Vessel's identity? It is something that will annoy a lot of Sleep Token fans who do not wish to know any of the band members' identities, which could lead to some backlash for you or your channel. Sorry, but I have told the person who did it exactly what I think of them. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
@@brianalmeida1964 God, I wish people like that didn't have access to the internet. It's like they don't have any lives of their own so they just HAVE to dig into the lives of others to get some "inside knowledge" to feel knowledgable and better about themselves. While, in fact, they're just as worthless and uninteresting as they were before discovering any of those facts.
II just did his first interview ever for Drumeo and played through a lot of their songs. He is a freaking badass, and his voice is masked as well as his face.
As a drummer it only makes me appreciate ST more the amount of love their drummer gets, not just from the songwriting process as I understand only Vessel and II compose the music, but also now with the publicity side. Only make ST that much more unique and yes, II is a truly skilled drummer so he deserves all the hype! 🙏
@user-mg4cc9sy7p II also had to bring his A-game at Wembley after Vessel's announcement, but that's the beauty of having an amazing group of guys especially III who is the bassist on stage keeping fans engaged and entertained throughout the show
And then there's III who is up on stage shouting and talking to the audience the entire time not even attempting to stay in character lol. The dichotomy of band mates.
Seeing them live for the first time was the closest I’ve ever been to a religious experience. Their music just touches a place in your soul like nothing else can.
Fully agree, my cousin sent me their first songs, and I always liked them and kept some tabs. Didnt realise one album came out, and in 2021 saw them live in a small venue after the same cousin asked if I wanted to go. And it utterly changed my brain. I dont go a day wtihout listening to at least one of their songs now. Such an experience.
I get earwormed by a Sleep Token song in a monthly frequency. This last month it was Atlantic. The fact that II showcased the absolutely ridiculous drumming part of it on his interview didn't help much.
This is definitely my favorite song from the album. It's so beautiful in the beginning and then that ending just slams you into a wall. I can't wait to experience it live in May at Radio City Music Hall.
@@vanessagomes My friend was supposed to go with me, but she just got married and her and her husband might honeymoon in May, so I may have an extra ticket. I'll let you know when I find out, if you want it.
To update this, II, the drummer of Sleep Token just did an interview with Drumeo, a RU-vid channel. It’s the first interview ever where a member speaks.
Euclid (the closing track of the album) is a top 5 song all time for me. A beautiful track that perfectly encapsulates a sense of finality for the album (and their previous two albums). And yea, someone asked for you to remove a comment revealing an identity of a band member, I mean, the information is out there for those who want to know. The drummer just did a interview/play sesh with Drumeo (on youtube). Even there they distorted his voice.
I think Vanessa should totally seal the deal with Euclid. It's their way of saying "you thought we took no prisoners by opening the record with Chokehold? Wait until you listen to the closer." And I adore that the fanbase doesn't know and doesn't want to know their identities. I quickly got along with it. I am an agnostic that takes pride in being rational and factual, but I WANT to keep their identities in secret for as long as they deem it necessary. In a world where not even celebrities seem to have the luxury of privacy, I feel like Vessel And Co. mystery identities are some sort of treasure, a cozy conspiracy, if you will...
Yeah a lot of people don't include Euclid in their favourites; and in isolation I definitely get it, it's not everyone's cup of tea. BUT listening to the album front-back (which I've done countless times at this point), Euclid is so emotionally moving it's difficult to think anyone not liking it.
This band is so good. i try and not jamm them to much cause there just that precious honestly its a treat every time i make the wait on sleep token Stunning band. Stunning song. Long live sleep token.
I'd like to request Spiritbox -'Jaded.' The band has so many great songs but this song has been nominated for a Grammy. If they win it will be the first time a female fronted metal band has ever won. Great reaction by the way! I felt the same way the first time I heard TMBTE.
A friend of mine played Atlantic for me once and while I was at work I decided to listen to it on repeat. When I decided to change the song, Take Me Back to Eden popped up on my recommendations. So I said “screw it why not”. I wish I wasn’t at work when I did! The journey it took me on was unreal!!!!! This is the song that made me fall in love with them! Best part? It doesn’t feel like it’s 8 minutes long!
It's not often talked about compared to a lot of their other songs, but High Water is my personal favorite of theirs, the outro is the most beautiful thing they've done imo
You WIN the Internet with this reaction Vanessa. Its how I expected you to react. Absolutely awesome. Now you can win again reacting to Ascensionism. Looking forward to it. Much love from the UK
Personally and professionally, I think you will benefit from doing the whole deep dive through their discography. As you go through the journey, take your time. Enjoy it. There are other RU-vidrs that have done the journey and it's been great for their channel and their own mental health. I would also recommend watching their reactions too after you've done your own. Many view points and interpretations help add depth to their music that I would have never had. The channels I've enjoyed the most have been: Tyler Reacts, The Lone Rager, Project Jango. Please take your time! We don't want you burnt out. Peace and love to you.
This song is EPIC, you should totally react to their songs Fall For Me, Bloodsport ( live from the room below ), and Euclid. All 3 songs are beautiful in their own ways, always makes me emotional.
You have to start the deep dive into the lore of this band! It’s sooo fascinating and it makes soooo many connections between lyrics in their songs & the relationship between vessel & sleep. I don’t want to give too much away, but you need to start googling lol 😂💖
Yeah, this is among the faves for sure. I remember you mentioning in another video something about wondering if they would ever rap. Well... here you are!
lets goo!! Can't get enough of Sleep Token and your reactions make it even better! Also Happy New year Vanessa, can't wait to see what 2024 has in store 🖤🎶
Love your reactions, amazing how we can really feel your emotion just watching you. So cool to relive first time listening to music that has equally impacted each of us. 🤘😍🤘
So glad to see you enjoying Sleep Token, Vanessa! Have enjoyed following all your ST reactions. From the music to the lore they really are next level, an act that truly only comes around once every quarter century. I've admittedly become pretty jaded toward most new music. Saddens me to say most artists IMO just seem to have trouble coming up with new ideas these days. Unfortunately it probably has a lot to do with the internet as nobody has to work very hard at being creative anymore because everything's just out in the open if that makes sense. There's sadly just little sense of mystery or wonder left in pop society...or is there? 🤔 Sleep Token has proven it doesn't have to be like that! That you can still be unique and make great music. And just as ST, our fan base are also unique individuals who really grasp what it means to appreciate simple good music! One of the best fan bases out here, real talk and I'm happy you're here to experience this once in a lifetime kind of musical phenomenon with us, Vanessa. Happy New Year lets vanquish it in 2024--as we help bring good music back!--🎉 🍻 Worship 🥷🏻🙏😊
Fellow NJ Sleep Token fan who was also very disappointed the bots got all the tickets for Radio City. I found them years ago on a random Spotify playlist. If you do them again I got two for you. If you want something bad ass, Jaws If you wanna hear Vessel just play the piano and sing, Bloodsport (from the room below) just have tissues ready for that one. Happy New Year! Worship!
My favourite thing ST does, and in particular with this song, is the chorus IS SO GOOD even though each time we hear it the song is in a different tone.
Some of us fans have found Vessel's(lead singer) old bands and know who he is. Dig deeper and I'm sure you'll figure it out or see people talking about it in comments.(I'm totally against telling people because it should be their own journey if they wish to know) So glad you finally got to this song. It's the one that really made me stop what I was doing and finally give Sleep Token a chance. I've been obsessed ever since!!🤘🏼🤌🏼🔥 #Worship
People feel spiritual and uplifting because their music is based on how the foundation of gospel music is formed. Not saying they're religious but the music is built the same. Even the drummers style is based on gospel. It's wild when you hit that realization.
I literally had the same reaction you did when I first heard this song back in May. I felt like I was transported to another dimension. A very fun vid and you just gained a new sub 🤘😊🤘. Also check out the last song on the album Euclid, and make sure to have some Kleenex handy, the song is a tearjerker.
I still haven't seen Vessell's new mask. I have seen the other 3 though.... this next album is going to be epic. I'll be pre-ordering that with Angelina Jordan's first album. Some amazing sh*t coming out next year.
as far as I'm aware that one interview fact is correct, the drummer II did an interview with Drumeo and did some drum playthroughs of some Sleep Token songs too
knowing the gospel inspirations the drummer and singer have their songs really show this. Their music is so amazing. And I am not religious at all but I love it.
That 1 interview was with the YT channel Drumeo and it was II doing an interview + playing some songs. Amazing drummer to watch and SO articulate with his words. Very well spoken. Love this band/album/ song.. everything and loved the reaction! Cheers.
When vessel says “I don’t know what’s got its teeth in me but I’m about to bite back in anger” the ending when it goes hard and heavy. That’s vessel biting back in anger.
Ascensionism and Atlantic could be some really good next track. Take me back to eden still blow me away even after this many months of listening to it, perfect freaking track
Go back and start with the first albums and go in order. The experience is worth it and the songs fit together to tell a bigger story. You won’t regret it. Whatever you do, do not listen to Euclid until the very last song no matter what these comments say. It’s a musical journey worth the time. It’s like looking at a beautiful painting through the eye of a needle to only listen to single songs without stepping back to take in the full work.
I think what makes this even better is if you listen to choke hold first. The lyrics he sings from that song at the end just bring it to perfection for me.
Two interviews now, the drummer did one recently :) also my opinion that Eden isn't a place or a person but is a state of mind Vessel was in when he was in love
Before you ever listen to "Euclid", you really need to listen to the first two albums through first. The first song, The Night Does Not Belong to God, on their first album has a direct tie to "Euclid", and if you don't recognize it, you'll miss the chance to feel it. Plus you get a further appreciation for the band as a whole before listening to what I believe is the best song they've ever written, "Euclid".
If you haven't listened to Chokehold by Sleep Token, you are literally missing out on the best song they've put out by a long shot imo. Your entire body feels that song in the greatest depths. One of those songs you listen to in a shower with the lights off under hot water. Insane
Highly recommend "the night does not belong to god", the first song from their first album, immediately followed by "Euclid", the final song of their most recent album
Did you catch that before he started screaming "take me back to eden" (ie the beginning) he was singing the lyrics/melody at start of Chokehold, the beginning of the album?
You might not have noticed but the end of the song has call back lyrics to 'Chokehold'. They often have subtle call backs or lead ins from song to song. If you want to feel a way you haven't yet, Blood sport (From the room below). It will change you.
Thank you for reacting to this song!!!!!! If you really want to get in your feels then react to Lorna Shore- the pain remains!!!!!! That song and video will break your heart. The only metal song that will make you booger cry and I mean BOOGER CRY!!!!
The only ones who even usually talk on stage are III and iv and usually it's just them yelling at the crowd. As others said ii just did an actual interview on drumeo.
