Although I am a bit dejected that it will be a coalition government, I am glad that BJP faced this loss. It will keep them grounded. BJP though it was invincible and they can get away fielding any candidate and get votes with the face of Modi. It is a wake-up call for them telling candidate selection should be a localized and people want development and not politics. They need better local leaders in every state. They took people for granted. Politics is like a team sport where matches cannot be won just with star players. Everyone should contribute.

@WaveRider1989 I Absolutely agree with you. I appreciate the fact that Modi is a devout Hindu. He visits temples, good. But why broadcast it? He meditated in Kanyakumari. Meditation is a spiritual act. Why broadcast it? I feel action speaks louder than words. This takes me back to January 2024 when the Shankaracharyas were against opening a temple without doing Kumbabishekam. Our Shastras does not permit it. BJP went ahead with it because it wanted to open the temple before elections for votes. What happened to Faizabad seat? I personally believe that religion is best left to acharyas and religious visits should be personal. The next 5 years should focus only on development and progress. No need religion. We will vote those who bring progress. Once that comes, we can look into others.

@@hamidraiza that is just stupid he is a big BJP leader today, and also he won because of the votes of both Hindus and Christians in the district especially the women votes, also he gained much on the Love Jihad issue as well, the fact that he opened the tally for BJP in Kerala is historic, I'm from Kerala, I know the politics of the state very well, what Modi did for this election in kerala, will translate to atleast 5-6 (realistic figure) seats in 2029, this was his plan, and btw BJP is not weak in Kerala, infact the RSS shakhas are more powerful in Kerala than it is in Karnataka (the state where BJP has not lost a LS election since 2004), and also BJP have lost atleast 5-6 seats last time in Kerala with less than 1000 votes, K Surendran lost because of 80 odd votes, so BJP is powerful in Kerala, and in 2029 BJP will win atleast 6 seats in the LS elections.

For any successful democracy to perform & stay grounded to constitutional values a strong opposition was required. Hopefully we have that this year to put a leash on BJP politicians. Most of our institutions were compromised. Opposition parties were harassed with excessive power. Media totally compromised. It’s always good to have power change with healthy competition.
