From focus on female officer and decisive theme, I see how show inspired drunk dreamer Josie to join police force, wants to resign and marry hero Hamish Macbeth in MC Beaton's Death of a Valentine I just reviewed for GoodReads. UK TV not in Canada enough. Dr Who and New Tricks may be best we get.
