The Bill Series 24 Episode 67 Appropriate Force 

I'l.be 71 years in 9 days time. I remember watching every episode in TV.. I then collected every episode on my computer extension hard drive. What a fantastic TV show it was. They don't make them like it any more.

I have never worked for the police so I'm sure I am going to be told how wrong and ridiculous my opinion is but in my opinion no TV show has come close to being a realistic and legitimate representation of UK coppers as The Bill was still to this very day. Obviously there is some creative licensing and embellishing going on which is expected when making a TV drama series but for the most part things were kept pretty close to real life. I'm not sure how those people working for the actual police viewed the show and it certainly didn't pull any punches when dealing with matters like corruption in the force but at the same time it also kind of helped us understand and relate to the police, and in many ways showed us that behind the uniform a lot of cops are human beings just doing a job. I would like to see The Bill return but half of me thinks that it would be a bad idea because TV shows and the media has become way too political and agenda driven nowadays. I can just see it now.... literally every other episode would be about racism and police prejudice against certain groups of people in society while the rest of the episodes would be about sexism in the workplace. Don't get me wrong I am not against the show addressing issues like those(as they have done so in the past) but it would be all about political messages and an agenda platform with the focus on being entertaining pushed way down the list. If there was a balance and if it was anything like it used to be then I would love to see it return though.
