I don’t know if you know the history of how the mob got involved in Atlantic City. In this episode, I will take you back to 1929 when the La Cosa Nostra was born in Atlantic City. This will be a very interesting and important piece of Mob history in the country so do not miss out.

Boardwalk Empire was so great. They made each year a season (1920, 1921, etc.). It drove me nuts that they wrapped the series up after 1924, skipping 1925 and going straight to 1931. They bypassed the whole 1929 Atlantic City Conference!! WHY!?! I guess they just didn't want to do the show that long... but they totally could have. I loved every second of it.

I've heard things such as the hurricane destroyed most of the sets and HBO really saw something in game of thrones, so all the focus went into that.

It skipped SO MUCH. It's a shame because that era likely won't get a show again. And man, they had so many of those roles filled correctly.

Good Evening Michael, All due respect, Don Masseria and Don Maranzano, were alive and kicking in 1929. Luciano, was Boss's lieutant at the time. The meeting's purpose was, those new-school backstabbs, to find a way to make a move against the 2 Dons (and the whole Old-Guard). That's the history!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless you and your family, Salut!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael, consider sharing stories about the Cosa Nostra (Our Thing) in other cities. Example: I grew-up in Saint Louis. Though my parents were Spanish and French Immigrants, as were our extended families, we lived in the “Dago Hill” (Little Italy) section; similar to where I live now in San Francisco “North Beach.” Italian and Spanish culture and language are similar. So, we were warmly welcomed and accepted. Both are also Catholic. I worked for them from Ages 9-18 as a “messenger and bag boy.” Fact is, the Mafia was based in what is now simply known as “The Hill” Yet Mafia fronts were scattered throughout the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area, including across the Mississippi into Granite City, Illinois which was highly industrial. As You probably know, the Mafia were in Kansas City as well as in Detroit. No doubt, the Mafia were in The San Francisco Bay Area, based in North Beach. The old Italian Club Fronts are still here. As You reveal, the Mafia was in Atlantic City. Whereas films tend to only portray Cosa Nostra in New York, Chigao, Las Vegas, New Jersey and maybe Los Angeles. Point is, there are other stories yet to be told.

Mob went to war with moonshiners in the southern United States during prohibition. Everybody was out to control the alcohol industry. During the depression Al Capone ran a soup kitchen to feed people. More than the federal government ever did for anybody. 20s and 30s are extremely fascinating. Through prohibition NASCAR was born.

Michael, wow, thank you! I don't know how to articulate without having a sense of humor. LOL I was blessed w/a loving mother and raised with a good dad who believed in morals and always defending the underdog. He was one of those "people" persons and quite a talker. He always treated people especially strangers as if they were an old friend. While a student at A.C. High school he was a light weight boxer by age 14 winning boxing matches for money to support his family whom migrated to Atlantic City from Calabria. It was a local barber named "Johnny Lloyd" whom sponsored my dad and he fought under that same name "Johnny Lloyd" ha ha,..seriously though. He told me a story once when in high school he was always getting trouble with the school principal for 'beating up the bullies' who were picking on his friends. Michael, my dad supported me 100% with my musical recording engineer career' ambitions that ultimately lead me to Hollywood and Sony Music Studios NYC. Anyways, my grandparents had a boarding house on Virginia ave in A.C. In fact no kidding here, seriously one of their part time tenants were Bud Abbott and Lou Costello who were Vaudeville performers on the Steele Pier before making their big time movie career. Years later my dad ended up befriending Paul 'Skinny' D'Amato who eventually bought the now historic 500 Club. My dad was the establishments manager who ran the place and educated Skinny how to speak proper English to be more respected as a big time venue owner.

I've heard a lot of interesting stories from old timers who lived in NY. My immediate family lived in NY, mostly Staten Island, during the turn of the last century until the late 1950's. The stories I heard remind of the stories that Michael and Sammy Bull tell. My uncle lived in Staten Island into the '90's and knew many members of the Gambino Crime Family. Though often invited, he wasn't involved with Cosa Nostra, but when something big happened he knew everything about it and what happened before most people did. Paul Castellano even confided in him that he was doubtful about his ability to beat the RICO case against him just before he was killed. Everything I heard my uncle say about the aftermath of the Castellano hit is now mob legend.

You have a, egotist that wants to make a mark when editing the video and the stupe is really making it worse. A lighter hand, allowing Michael to tell the story, is best. Do nothing via sound or imagery that distracts from Michael and his presentation. He is the story, not the childish video editor.
