I have fished my whole life in small creeks and farm ponds, it amazes me the size and number of fish you catch. Now I am 71 and do most of my fishing watching RU-vid, with your channel one of my favorites. Like the way you talk while fishing, I feel like a friend.
@@KayakCatfish Hey Justin...first i wanna say thanks again for the vids...we always enjoy watching them. But i have a question...i noticed that when you get the fish up to the boat you always hit the free spool switch before you grab them. I noticed that you keep your thumb on the line so your not letting any line out so was curious as to why you do that? Im guessing just to release any tension that's on the reel or ???
@@lindajones1592 with those type of rods you need to hold a thumb on the line to keep it from tangling but that little extra line makes it easier to grab the fish
@Linda Jones with those type of reels they usually have a line guide on them so when you reel the line in the guide moves back and forth so the line doesn't clump in one spot, his reels don't have that guide so he has to use his thumb to guide the line from side to side so it's not clumped in one spot
They are expensive. If you fish enough to justify it, just do yourself a favor and buy an aluminum boat. I bought a 75hp bass tracker after a couple years of motorized kayak fishing and its night and day. Takes less time to launch the boat and 40mph is better than 5 lol. Fish on
Another one well done Justin! I..We appreciate the way you present the technics and set up of your fishing gear and your southern hospitality! The little man didn't get to watch you today but he will be back in a couple days to see the "whisker wish"!
Another great video, Justin. Please keep us informed concerning the resolution of the motor issue. I agree with you that Old Town’s customer service is top notch. At the end of last year my remote kept losing the stored I Tracks and Spot Locks. They explained it as a software issue but needed to replace the entire motor and remote. Has been working well so far.
They are sending me a new motor. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. I have also had the issue of my remote losing all my saved routes a couple times per month
I can completely understand not wanting to look like you're talking to yourself when other boats are around. It's kind of like those Bluetooth ear pieces you see people walking around in stores looking like they're talking to themselves... LOL
The big trophy sized catfish are being wiped out by paylakes. Ive seen the change in our local fisheries. The Ohio River has suffered tremendously due to hoopnets and gillnets. Even the skipjack herring have declined. Everybody catches em and sells em to the paylakes as well. Used to be able to go fish, catch what bait u needed, and get on some 30 plus lbers with little effort. Now u can fish all day and be happy to catch a 5 lber.
Your gonna keep on and get good at this! lol, way to go Justin. Fishing that keys on bait concentrations in warmer waters in spring pays off. You need a Wilson soccer ball to talk to when those bass fishermen come up like on Cast Away..lolol
Another fine day on the water with my favorite channel and my favorite fisherman. Indiana is warming up, hopefully the spring bite will be on here soon! Watching you catch cats is almost as much fun as me catching them. And...Congratulations on you 90,000 subs you worked hard to get them! On to 100,000!
Thanks for bringing us along on this catfishing trip. From my calculations, that dang ol' channel cat is still on your money board lol Always fun watching you fish.
The fish are getting more active for you. I noticed none of them had mud on the sides of them. Another great video. Thanks Justin. From the couch in Ohio
Awesome day on the water for sure. Crazy how quick the but was. I kniw you cut and edit but having to put the one rod down to reel in another, back to back repeatedly. And even cutting disk out. They big time TV shows lake days to weeks to put together a video. Great video!
Dang! Technology is nice until it drops a Deuce. Hope your motor gets taken care of quickly. Some nice fish Justin. Thanks for sharing. Stay well and good luck in the tournament.
Awesome as always! One of these days I'm gonna make my way down your way and follow you around the river lol...I'm gonna stay about 100 yards behind you and do exactly what you do!!!
Great vid, nice fish, funny talking about up-north-Dan and his new fangled gadgets, and then your gadget goes out. From an old-school paddler. Keep up the videos! Btw, is that a Hook, Line, and Chill hoodie? Time to break mine out. Lol
Man i should have been in bed by now but just had to watch the video! Awesome work as usual Justin! Hopefully the kayak won't be down for too long! Keep catchin em
Justin, those are some great days on the water. Always enjoy the outings. Don't worry too much about those bass fishermen. If you don't get too close you won't pick up ay bad habits. Your audio is just fine too, although I did think you had switched to announcing a golf game the first time. I'll be looking for the next one.
Howdy, long time watcher first time commenter. I've been rigging my body pieces with the hook diagonally, heard it prevents it from hooking back into itself as it tends to sometimes. Probably doesn't matter much when you're suspending though lol. Thanks for the vid!
Glad to see you on them. I went and caught a few but the wind was ripping. I saw more catfish boats than I had ever seen on the lake. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing lol.
All them fish are so dang fat!! Solid! Looking like everybody after getting stimulated after about a month of going and eating good lol. Enjoyed it buddy!
Man love your Vids. Great cats. Your drinks are what I get here in Fla. Really big ones are scarce here. Been chasing cats for years. Now 85 have to bank fish. Sold boat. Channels army favorite. Don't bother my Doc. with telling him I still like fried cat, hush puppies. Can't eat grits though now. Belly trouble. Sure dosen't pay to get older. 🐻
Hey I'm in here i love your work big catfish fisherman outta New Mexico shout out to you and your channel i jus got a new boat so I'll be using the tip down in the water 3 inches off the ground technique 🤞💪
There’s a creek in the Sierra Nevada mountains called dinky creek that is fed by a series of lakes called dinky lakes all of it is in the dinky wilderness area, you should name that first creek the dinky creek
You made my morning as well . At least you scored another fish congrats on that. And hate that your trolling motor is giving troubles. Checking in from Mtn.Home, Arkansas.
Another great video justin I cant wait till I can get out on the water don't get out often as I'm disabled and currently don't have a trailer so loading my ascend FS128T on top of my Tahoe by myself is just to hard on me but I always feel like I'm right there with you while watching your vids keep them coming buddy
Man I wish I get action like this in California Bay Area I just started teaching my nephew 10 years old fishing. But bank fishing sucks. He asks why we don’t catch none all the time. I said hey that’s fishing man. Can’t catch them all. All we been catching is sharks and stingrays. I want him on his first fish. Fishing sucks on bank in my area. More luck at lakes. Great videos. Inspiring me to get him out there more
I miss fishing for catfish an actually I miss fishing for anything. Moved to Philippjnes and although there are few places that have nice bass I have not been fishing. Dink?? Those are perfect eating size. God Bless
Gotta say I love watching you catch em about as much as catching them myself. I picked up a couple rod and reels from catfishsumo if the old ugly tuff ever wears off those ugly stiks I would definitely recommend giving them a try.
Well done, sir! Btw, I’m stealing your layout on the 2x4 rod-holder mount. Started building yesterday. I have a lower budget kayak (Ascend-10T) and it upgraded my rod spread! Thanks!
Justin I have the same problem sometimes with my power drive with i-pilot. Ive found that if I unplug it for acouple minutes and let it reset it will work again.
You make want to get out kayak fishing man , I’m usually do that but my surgery is holding me back for this couple weeks thanks for sharing your catch!
Hey Justin, I have a 133X tournament fishing kayak. I love how you have your rods in front of you using the rail mounts. I have been looking online and have not been able to find a system like that anywhere. Could you possibly give me some info? I do a lot of fishing on the Ohio River here in Kentucky and I need something to hold these 60+ pounders without taking my rods with it LOL. I already have the rod holders I’m talking about the thing that you have the mounted on that runs the length of the kayak side to side.
Well Justin has my old man is always said to me a bad day on the water is still better than a good day at work and it seems you caught some really good quality fish and but still yet seems to me not a bad day abide is about a fish is a fish whether it be a 5 lb blue cat or a 50 lb still a fish is a fish thank you for sharing keep it up I'll keep watching
I'll vouch for the Ugly Stick. I fish for big uns. Been using ugly sticks for 20 years. I weigh them and put back. Biggest was 54 pound flathead. So far.... I eat 2 or 3 20 pounders a year. Flat heads the best eating catfish. I hate to catch channel cat all day..
