Thanks for posting this. My late mom grew up in Little Burgundy. Her parents migrated to Canada in early 1900's, settled in Burgundy. My grandfather worked for CP Rail at Angus Yards until he passed in '63. My grandmother lived there until early 1967 when she moved to south shore St. Hubert. A lot of great history for black Montrealers. Union United Church, Negro Community Centre were beacons for black Montrealers.

I lived in Burgundy for 20 years. I was told years ago that back in the 18th century or so, there was a slave auction near where oscar peterson park is now situated. I was never able to validate that claim and I wonder, was that true?? Would love to know
