What a fucking legacy. The loss of a fucking TITAN in metal, and Brian steps the fuck up and just absolutely carry’s the torch. The fucking pain and courage it took to do that for your brother is insane. I love you Brian, I love black dahlia, I love you Trevor.
Brother I literally wish I could fuckin' DM you, for making such a great statement so many of us can resonate with. I cannot FUCKING BELIEVE Brian has slain as hard as he has...
Man Brian's vocals were reminding me of something and I couldn't for the life of me remember then it hit me. Slaughter of the Soul! This audio is great btw Trevor Forever ❤
01:23 - Verminous. 05:02 - What a horrible night to have a curse. 08:57 - Kings of the Nightworld. 12:20 - Sunless Empire. 16:12 - Carbonized in Cruciform. 21:05 - Child of night. 25:00 - Statutory ape. 29:00 - On Stirring Seas of Salted Blood. 34:54 - Everything went black. 38:20 - Nightbringers. 42:27 - Miasma. 45:50 - Unhallowed / Funeral thirst. 52:35 - I will return. 58:40 - Deathmask divine.
I know he is getting used to it, but one element of the black dahlia murder's live shows that cannot be understated is the energy derived from the intensity of the vocals. Hoping that as Brian gain's more confidence with his own capabilities, we start to see more of his showmanship and energy come out. He is a really charismatic dude in real life from the few times i have hung with him... really want to see that translate in his own way to his stage presence. I also really want to hear what HE sounds like with new material. We're in brave new territory and the homies are doing awesome!
One of the things I'm most excited about is hearing the lyrics he'll write. I'm also curious if the next album will have anything Trevor had started or even had fully written before he died.
Brian is a great front man. But we have to wait to see how good his lyrics are. Trevor is an extremely poetic and well written lyricist. In my opinion the best since the likes of Dio, niel peart and Steve Harris. He's literally up there with the metal gods in terms of writing talent and ability.
There is times that I close my eyes and I can totally hear Trevor’s voice coming out of Brian’s and it only brings me joy to see what they do after Trevor left us! Sick upload
I was too; right in the front. You can actually see my stupidly large hand throwing horns during “what a horrible night.” It was incredible to see them again after 3 years.
They really did... I see a lot of comments shitting on his vocals but I think he sounds amazing for his first year and his vox definitely improved a lot since their comeback show. Also, being able to do a full set with Trevor's nonstop lyrics while on tour requires a lot of stamina and control.
@@kintz_matei Yup! A lot of people forget even Trevor's own progression from Unhallowed > Miasma > Nocturnal it was like a different vocalist in each. And he's making a literal sacrifice doing it, so all things being equal, he's absolutely killing.
Absolutely stunning to see Brian hone his own style. He's always been a talented backing vocalist and he is absolutely to be commended for stepping into arguably the biggest blown out flip flops in all of Melodic Death Metal and hitting the mark! Ryan, Brandon, Max and Alan are absolutely perfectly tight. I Fucked up not going to this tour..... Next run for sure! Sworn to Black we'll always be!
100% bittersweet. Brian is absolutely killing it, but it bums me out so much Trevor isn’t there. The first person I ever met in a real touring band was Trevor when I was 12 on their first big tour with cannibal corpse. He begged me for my quagmire shirt I was wearing and swore “dude…I can make it fit”. Still can’t believe he’s gone
im commenting simply to say how outstanding the audio quality is. everything is there, sitting right where it should. whether thats the venue mixing or the quality of the video recording, it nice
thank you!! definitely a mix of the two. its one of the more "legit" venues ive filmed at, and the sound was really good irl as well . the external mic i use, zoom h6 pro, is very good with capturing high quality audio as well so i was able to have it translate smoothly live to video
much love for the kind words! as someone who was relatively indifferent of them before seeing them, this set was awesome and genuinely swung me on the band.
I'm SO PISSED I missed this show wtf! Yup my brother told me straight up get clean and we can go to shows again. I'm missing so much. I've seen them going back toooo the Abysmal tour but yeah been a fan since Nocturnal dropped. Seen em 4 or 5 times. What a set this is tho Holy shit. STATUTORY!!!
Brian's whole way of being present on the stage gives me big minstrel-vibes. Just here to tell us his story with a calm yet intense demeanor. I miss Trevor a lot but this is a very appropiate way to carry the torch. Fcking hell yeah!
It's sad to see hang up his guitars because he had some sick customs. Love the vocals though. Trevor will be missed but this is still pretty awesome to watch. Love you Strnad.
it was mostly highs from what i remember. he might still be getting used to performing an hour long set night after night and lows could be more strenuous on his voice
He does them but they dont cut through as well....He doesnt have the gutteral technique down yet....His highs are great....still needs a little work but I respect the fuck out of him for saying fuck it and doing it. I hope he doesnt give up and hones his voice like he did his guitar. Give him time...he'll be one of the greats.
Yeah give him a bit more time, he’s probs working his way towards reaching a stage where he can do the lows on a live setting consistently well and without screwing up his vocal cords. Takes time to practice and develop technique. Don’t expect miracles overnight
Proud of Brian. Is he Trevor? No. But if Trevor would’ve had to take over guitar for Brian, how would that have gone? He’s doing great and hopefully can get better.
Been a fan since their cover of paint it black. Really did enjoy their discography and am curious as to what the new material will sound like and am down to check it out for sure... but in my honest opinion, brian on vocals sounds terrible. Just feels like it doesnt work at all for me personally, i really do feel like this sounds awful and i hate to say that because these dudes have been a favorite of mine since day one of hearing their music. I hate that Trevor isnt around no more, i really dont feel this is the best move for the band. Obviously who am I, i just feel like if they needed to continue playing music as a band, getting a really good vocalist would have been the better move than having Brian as the frontman. Truly not hating but idk, i do feel why they might have wanted it this way but just feels so off for me personally. 😢 RIP Trevor.
I get ya, but pretty sure it's a momentary thing. That, and it just feels right to have him fill in at the moment till they find someone more permanent. Would've been a bit shitty to resume touring with someone new just like that. Someone that might not even be permanent. Pretty sure Brian is still the main composer and we'll see how they go about filling in those massive, massive shoes on three fronts: vocal range and delivery, LYRICAL content (it's going to be soo hard finding someone who not only sounds good but can write well), and showmanship/stage presence. I'm glad they're touring and getting it out of their system. This tour and this upcoming year's shows is still like therapy for them.
Too many compliments. No, Brian is not the vocalist. This is should be temporarily. I've been to 4 TBDM gigs and they definitely need more power. Brian is a amazing charismatic guy, but level of Trevor vocals is too much.
@@granthelas4468 So sad man. I bought an Order From Chaos shirt off of him like almost a decade ago. First heard TBDM in 2005 when I was 13 and they've been one of my favorites ever since.
