I never thought that a track being longer than 6 minutes would be a complaint. I've always preferred longer tracks, especially when they're more ambient and relaxed (also I tend to hold more value in longer tracks, cuz it kinda feels like extra bonus content to me)
I believe this album sounds slightly more polished than previous releases by them, but musically, it falls flat for me. I resonate with your preference for The Grey Album over this album due to its better consistency and tunes, but for me, this also meant that I was barely able to relate to the music and its intriguing concept; it lacked the emotional weight I was expecting. I still think The Black Dog didn't deceive anyone with this album; it will likely serve well for many. I'll still look forward to new albums from them. But hopefully, more emotionally rewarding for me.
fair enough. just could equally easily envision both someone bored with all of TBD's recent material and a minimal industrial ambient techno fan being somewhat hyperbolic making this exact comment phrased the same way lol
@@TheWonkyAngle I got tired of them when they were pointlessly rude to me. :) I didn't know they redid Silenced though, might check that out. I just haven't been grabbed by the new stuff and really, it's a joke...can't give more than an average without hearing. I cared enough to watch this...but I rarely have time to listen to music this year anyway, as I've been making music videos. You might enjoy the Autechre ones. Working on something ancient right now, but I plan to do most of Autechre's catalog for the fun and practice of it.
