for those asking if its a real ship. yes and no. for the first movie it was wood model built on a steel barge. for several of the subsequent movies a shipyard refit a reconstructed version of HMS sunset to serve as an actual ship, though not a "real" tall ship, as it has modern engine and navigation gear hidden below deck.
Reth Sollins no its the truth the Sunset aka the actual black pearl (it was built over the barge the sunset whoch is still the boats registry) was converted into the queen annes revenge for pirates 4. In 5 all ships are computer generated and sadly the current whereabouts of the sunset are unknown to the public due it being known that it was not taken to australia for filming. Last known location was part of the bow was in a park in new orleans on display back in october but is now long gone
@@ConnorNotyerbidness They could've made a completely different ship but instead they re-skin the pearl into an awful galleon named the queen anne's revenge with the ugliest captain's capin I've ever seen. Pearl should've been left the way it was and not bastardize it the way they did
@@thatmotivatedchris6749 I think the stern is actually pretty cool, to think Blackbeard stole a ship and then changed it to his own personal preference is amazing at showing how he loves the looks of things instead of functionality
does it sill on its on power or are they towing it? i hope it sails on its own. If not, its a shame. If i win the lottery i want to build a real version of the pearl and take people with me on eppic journeys around the world!!!!! lad's can dream wright? ;)
Lol get out of here, the dream is perfect, the estimation of price is not true. You can get anything done for any price. A friend of mine made a very realistic pearl as a regular guy and trust me it was not even close to those figures haha
@plaady Its using its own "engines" (Diesel engines I guess) The "Real Black pearl got no propper rigging. And when you take a close look you can see the sails are somewhat arched backwards so its "driving" against the wind.
what's the difference between pirate ships and spanish galleons? were they the same in physical built, but different in purpose, or were they way too different from each other?
