Edinburghs show on Tuesday was amazing! Water was dripping on their equipment and had to stop so they did an acoustic set for us and stayed behind to meet us! Amazing guys!
They didn't 'give up' and they're still working hard. They just don't make the exact same music anymore. IMO the newer songs aren't crap, just different and I like them all in different ways =)
Yeah these songs are different, but then you realise they have a lot of elements from older songs. Start The Party does seem pop-ier, but the sound is The Blackout. Keep listening to the songs, don't write them off straight away. I'm excited for the new album!
I really don't understand why people are complaining, it's not their greatest song, but in no way is it a bad song. There have been pop punk songs and ballads on every Blackout record, and there have also been some really amazing heavier songs on every album. Obviously this sound is a lot more radio friendly, hence why it was released as a single. There is obviously still the heavy influence with Sean's screaming, so I'm fairly sure it's safe to assume there will be a number of heavier tracks.
I'm totally with you, The Blackout have been my favorite band since we are the dynamite came out in like 2007 but I am kinda disappointed by the two latest songs. To me it kind of feels like they are fed up of not getting the attention they deserve and have gone for a style that appeals more to a wider audience, just look at how well Start the Party has done. But hey! what do I know
Every Band has to make changes with each album its how they progress and get better. If they just stayed the same they'd start to sound boring and nothing would be very exciting. Personally I like the new music TBO are producing they're not going to stop playing the old songs live because they know people like them and want to hear them.
I like this... sure, it's a departure from their post hardcore sort of roots, but who knows what the whole album could be like? i for one can't wait to hear it... :D

Just forget about it I don't ever want it to fade I don't ever want it to change I don't ever want it to fade I don't ever want it to change I don't ever want it to fade! Tired of waiting for me to make this change
CAN ANYBODY TELL ME IF THE VIDEO WAS SHOT IN MAJORCA? I AM ALMOST SURE IT WAS BUT I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT PLACES THEY VISITED. I THINK I HAVE RIDDEN MY BIKE ON THE ROADS I SEE IN THE VIDEO. CAN YOU HELP ME?
I have been a fan from near the beginning and trust me, the feel I'm getting from these two songs alone is enough to make my judgement. I don't like it, pure and simple. I'll give the album a chance when I get to here all of it but it's obvious the sound has changed
I heard this on the radio and thought Taking Back Sunday had gone back to their 2002 roots. Turns out this band is from Wales. WALES! They seem to have forgotten which side of the atlantic they are from.
I think the song is great, it's got great dynamics and hooks. However it doesn't sound like the Blackout. I eagerly await the rest of the album... My hopes are still high for these guys as I KNOW they can, and WILL do better.
look to be honest. i think the new we are the ocean album is probably one of the best things they've done, sure its not post hardcore, but its still quality music with great song writing, similar to deaf havana, different sound, but still quality, i dont htink the blackout have retained the quality as much though with this direction.
